The Dark Knight Rises Tom Hardy as Bane XII

He sounds better there, but still a total 180 from how I expected. I expected something a lot deeper. And, while I said before I didn't about an accent, Bane just doesn't sound right with a British accent.

I'm convinced that Hardy's doing that voice just to throw us off, since they could record everything in a studio. With a different delivery and everything.

I was hoping for an accent. But...not that accent.

IF Nolan is aware of us and is pissed, then I could see him telling Hardy to use a fake voice for this part of the filming.

In light of the latest forum announcement, I'd just like to say that you're all smelly doodyheads.

I'm actually surprised that they let him deliver the lines knowing that it will spoil things and it will most probably be changed post-prod. They should've just had him read the menu from McDonalds or something. :D

His voice is not different in the new video but the phrasing and delivery is. And it is much better in my opinion. But if you didn't like the raspy, creepy and asthmatic british guy approach to begin with you are not gonna change your mind with this one.

And those holding out for this not being the voice he will use in the movie are just too naive and desperate. No way that Hardy would use a totally different voice just to fool the audience. It would clearly hurt his overall performance and his character-acting approach. The fact that he stayed somewhat in character even after the cameras had rolled proves that he is giving his best trying to be this unique Bane.

He sounds like Prince Charles. Hilarious.

Hopefully the rather obscure idea that he's using a fake accent is true. Terrible accent for Bane imo.

Nolan: We have to capture the pure essence of Bane. Do you have any ideas, Hardy?

Hardy: I'm thinking he should sound like the old banker from Mary Poppins.

*slow golf clap

Nolan: Hardy, you crazy bastard, you've done it once again.....

It just occurred to me - if this is his real voice at this point in the movie, perhaps Tom is playing this mode of speech to draw attention to how much more classically "Bane-like" his voice will be when he actually is juiced up on Venom

To me, he sounds more like Lassard during the ******* scene in Police Academy.

Are we talking about the voice AGAIN? jebus, cant we talk about the scene instead? and the lines, what they say and mean? and whats happening? Why terrorize a football game? Why executing a hostige there and then?

The accent is not gonna change. Deal with it.

I have a feeling this might be Bane's first appearance to Gotham. Arriving in such a big way as possible.

People are going to talk about how terrible the accent is.

Deal with it.

Take your own advice and offer us an opinion on the questions you posed then, instead of getting pissy at people for talking about a very strange character choice by the main villain/actor.

Hi guys. First time poster here. In terms of Bane's voice - My initial reaction was mild disappointment. However, I am starting to warm up to this interpretation (if this is indeed what we're gonna hear). I can see what Yurka was saying with the vocal-ticks (i.e. "This is the instrument of liberation. . .*groans*) and that's something I could bear and enjoy. Again though, I'm gonna reserve my full judgment until at least the theatrical trailer. I mean. . .we haven't even gotten an official plot synopsis yet. :yay:
