Are we talking about the voice AGAIN? jebus, cant we talk about the scene instead? and the lines, what they say and mean? and whats happening? Why terrorize a football game? Why executing a hostige there and then?

The accent is not gonna change. Deal with it.
...then Bane's voice sucks. Bad.

And I wonder how he's going to come across as tough and intimidating, if he sounds like he's going to croak over any second.

We all should deal with that. Because it's sad...

Whats that I hear??? Bane is "part man part machine" you say???

Don't buy it.

Well, it's clear to me that he's been experimented on. So in essence he is part machine because he's been enhanced in some way. I don't think it's meant in a Terminator type way(Same Worthington). Atleast i'd hope not.

I have a feeling this might be Bane's first appearance to Gotham. Arriving in such a big way as possible.

Why go to a Football game though? He's already nicked the tumbler's, so obviously he's been in Gotham a while.

For anyone that missed, below is the newer video of Bane talking.

No....... this isn't anything how I expected him to sound; interesting. I love his look, as well as Catwoman's, but even I feel a tiny bit sketchy on this. I have to say though that I love the scene! He's seems like a very public and tormenting character in this movie so far, and will mess with Gotham on high psychological levels. If anything, he kind of sounds a little like Hitler if he spoke english.

welcome to the hype joker594

i'm not too sold on banes voice but i doubt it will ruin the movie for me

bane kinda sounds like voldermort for a bit rofl

In terms of his voice, i think what he's doing is unnecessary shtick. He just needs to speak like a normal human being, that's it. There can be no logical reason for the Prince Charles impression.

What? to me he sounds very American. No thick British accent present.

Well even Joker sounded a little different when he spoke with the public; I'm wanting to hear Bane when he's one on one with Batman because that will be more of himself, my guess.

Well, he's trying to cause mayhem. Seems like doing this during a live televised football game infront of a crowd of millions...is a good way of stirring the pot.

The Joker terrorized Gotham pretty damn well, with the help of a camera.

All of this is going on with little to no Gotham Police stopping the mercs. Makes you wonder what the condition of the city is in.

Without a doubt; he's living up to the crumbling Bat logo poster. :wow:

Take your own advice and offer us an opinion on the questions you posed then, instead of getting pissy at people for talking about a very strange character choice by the main villain/actor.
Sure :)

He talks like he wants to rally the troops or something, to lure them to riot the streets. Why he thinks the citizens of Gotham would want to liberate their city I have no clue at all. Maybe this takes place after he is in the city standing on the tumbler tearing up -- and I assume -- also talking about the officials covered up the Dent killings.
Make the people angry and turn them against their governing body, then offer help in doing so.

Why he slits a footballers throat goes against my prev. statement though, offering help and at the same time killing your people doesnt make sense hehe

Maybe Bruce Wayne is there and hes actually not talking too the audience, but rather talking out loud too Bruce himself?

Completely off-topic but I think it's funny that I'm form germany, and YT tells me the video is not available in my country. xD

Considering Bane's new and frightening mask, does anyone else think that may be how he gets his Venom high? Like Venom is a drug that is inhaled instead of a liquid that is pumped into the blood.

I think it's a an inhalant of some sort

Obviously Bane being second in command to Talia is not a well liked theory but I wonder if Talia is using that mask thingie to control Bane to do what she wants? People are saying that he sounds like he's in pain in that mask.

I'm 100% sold on Bane so far from what we have seen and heard. He will be iconic.

Long time lurker here, excited to hear Bane's voice today and thought I'd chime in.

Totally surprised by the characterisation of Bane, I don't dislike it at all, I'm just very surprised.

He sounds creepy and otherworldly. I imagined he would have a gruff voice like Hardy's portrayal of Bronson, but not British.

Nolan's Bane certainly is a unique interpretation, and I'd rather this than a tacky luchador mask and Hardy speaking with a hammy Latino accent

Interesting theory... Although I am hoping he isn't controlled by her, I also find the idea of the mask causing him such pain in this way to be intriguing somehow.
With closer shots of Bane, the mask almost looks to be really digging into his skull, it doesn't exactly look to be comfortable. There are other factors working into the output while he's in the mask though, like venom intake affecting his breathing and causing other undesirable physical effects.

Yes, but i'd rather he just spoke like a human being instead of some hammy British accent.

Great first post. More voices of reason like this are always welcome to such a chaotic board. I too think that Bane's voice, while comical in the first take I heard, will be better in the movie and I was pleased to hear another video of it from today sounding better. The mask is also really cool.

I think the mask may be welded onto his head, as the scars seemed to indicate. Maybe he just uses a drip feed for nutrition. Or maybe the inhalant provides all he needs. That may be a bit sci-fi however.

lol brits aint human?

and, fyi, Hardy is british and has one of the most strong and recognizable british accents ever. SO this, if anything, is quite an ordinary british accent.
