Bane's voice was, to me, a mixture of Armadeus Arkham, Voldemort and Dumbledore.

Here is actually my real voice, rapping.

Banes raspy General Grievous voice is the same as Heath Ledger's Cagney lip smacking. Hopefully Hardy gets an academy award or two! :woot:

Ledger sounded more Edward G. Robinson than Cagney to me.

Epic. I sense viral videos of this with someone doing raps with Hardy's Bane voice.

"Cruisin down the street in my Tumb'la
Jockin' the *****es, crushin' some car
Went to the hall to get the scoop
Batman out there in his stupid Bat suit
A pod pulls up, who can it be?
A fresh Catwoman rollin' kilo g
She rolls down the steps and started to say
It's all about making that Talia pay"

I sense an epic viral Bane rap video. Complete with Bane voice done by moi.

The voice ain't bad, it just is at odds with what Bane is supposed to present.

Like Riddler talking in a high pitched excitable voice.

I see some think that since Bane's father was British, he should or could have a British accent. Now, disclaimer first: I love everything about the movie Bane so far. I have no issue whatsoever with his voice, accent or whatever people think is wrong with his 'audio'.

Now,
Bane did not meet his father until very late in his career, years after Knightfall and with the help of Batman. And as some already pointed out, Bane grew up in Puerto Rican prison and Spanish was the first language he spoke and spent entire life with. But there were some Americans there as well like Bird and Zombie, so he could learn how to imitate their accents if he learned six languages anyway

Another fact that may not be known for everyone is that in moments of weakness, Bane speaks Spanish. When he has nightmares in Blackgate he screams things in Spanish, and when he has fevers from venom withdrawal he also uses Spanish

That's an excellent point GA and one that Tom Hardy has also said about himself personally.

He did an interview with Jonathan Ross, in which Ross pointed out Hardy's accent. He responded by saying that he ''picks up accents'' and doesn't know how he's going to sound until he starts speaking.

Here's the clip:

By the way, your blog is awesome. :yay:

I think we could get a bit of Genghis Khan in Bane. Starting off small with his own men, but moving from location to location demanding civilian manpower. If you refuse, you're dead. Thoughts?

Great points sir.

I wonder if Tom Hardy's Bane will display that.

Genghis Khan or that kind of fascist military leader. The coat looks like from WW2. He gives speeches, got his soldiers, drives military tumbler, wears some kinda military vest.

With his collar up, he looks like fascist leader with apocalyptic style.

My problem with Hardy's voice is not that it sounds British, but that he sounds like a cross between Dr Evil and Kenneth Williams, enjoying some bizarre sex game featuring crack and a leaky helium balloon.

It can't be what we will actually hear in the movie. Think for one moment. The audience would sit in stunned silence for a few seconds, before laughing their guts up.

Well, Bale's Batman voice isn't something to be wowed by, either......

over on nolan fans they said he gave an interview in empire magazine where it was stated his accent would be caribbean. Just thought Id pass it along.

I'll admit, TDK went overboard, but in BB, that was voice was frightening :wow:

At the cost of Bale losing his voice, they should go back to the way things were done before TDK.
