The Dark Knight Rises Tom Hardy as Bane XIII

I love how a ton of posters on SHH are work-out or muscle experts... and/or obsessed with every detail of Hardy's body. Just comes off as strange. Granted I'm sure there are things about the movie I obsess with that might come off the same way (Tate=Talia), but I guess that's why they call us fans!

Noticing subtle differences is not obsessive.

Looking at the trailer and production photos. In the trailer his mask is blue but in the Heinz field photos it is brown.

Yes I know but Im just wondering what it serves in the film to change colour. Like maybe the blue/brown one is broken and replaced by the other

No, it's still blue.

There's just dirt on it from the aftermath of the earthquake machine on it.

I have a theory and prediction for all the fans out there obsessed with the fact that Hardy doesn't look big enough (Im one of them). Maybe The jacket and sweater are both smoke and mirrors for the first act. He wears them until the first scene in the movie when we see him venom up. Off comes the jacket, on goes the gauntlet and tubbing. Cue a disturbingly painful looking venom pump, and we have the lumbering monster from the end of the teaser trailer. This is what I'm hoping for anyways. There HAS to be a reason Hardy isn't as jacked as he is in The Warrior. From both Bronson and The Warrior we can see that he's more the capable of getting in to some seriously peak physical condition. If YOU were in his shoes, what movie would you want to look best for? A couple of Indy flicks, or the biggest film of 2012 and possible his career to date? Nolan must have told him "relax, the first six weeks of shooting you'll be covered up".

but they have been filming since May though right? not just 6 weeks

I wasn't exactly sure, but either way, everything we (jon q public) have seen pictures of has showed him being filmed covered up. Nolan's a smart guy. Im willing to bet he put out that teaser image of Bane knowing full well he would have had no control over the paparazzi in Pittsburgh. We will see practically nothing thats filmed in LA, so who knows what he's cooking up. Im just trying to be optimistic. I really do think we will see a pumped up Batman crushing beast.

Calling his body peak for Bronson is a bit of a stretch.

With the big coat on it doesnt make him look as big. It hides it.

Tom Hardy has been making his mark in movies by playing tough guys in films like "RocknRolla," "Bronson," "Inception" and now "Warrior." The Brit thesp plays a mixed martial arts fighter in that Lionsgate pic, opening next month, but what he really wanted to talk about at Friday's Four Seasons Beverly Hills junket for "Warrior" was Starbucks. It seems Hardy set off something of a firestorm at Comic-Con in July when he likened working on Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" as the supervillain Bane to slinging coffee as a barista.

"I'm really sorry if anyone misunderstood what I said about comparing working for a huge franchise to being like working for Starbucks. I didn't mean it like that. I mean, it could have been British Airways, it could have been Virgin, it could have been Nike, it could have been any huge company," Hardy said earnestly.

This was obviously what he meant from the beginning but somehow idiots interpreted it in a different way. That somehow he wasn't serious about his job.

Um, What did he mean then? All I read is that he compared it to working for Starbucks and then said other companies.

Working on a big movie like TDKR is analogous to working for a large corporation, whereas smaller, indie movies are more like working for a small, independent business. Nothing more to it than that.

His clarification didn't really change the context of what he said before. It's still the same thing. I don't think he needed to apologize anyway. There was nothing wrong with what he said IMO.

Hardy shouldn't have to explain himself to anyone. Tom is now a work addict, and is extremely grateful for a second chance.

"I'm human and I do read things and I get hurt. My friends say, 'Don't read anything, just ignore it,' but I do. And I read comics. And I cry."

Tom listen to your friends. There are alot of d*****bags (with a capital D) out there, especially when coming to Batman.

TOM ARE YOU READING. I LOVE YOU ETERNALLY. I THINK YOU'RE AMAZING AND IF THINGS WERE DIFFERENT I'D DO WHATEVER I COULD TO MAKE YOU HAPPY.

:ahem:

I mean...agreed.

So there's a good chance the comments he's read originated from here. I can't think of too many places that would harp on every word of his in a random interview regarding the film. Pretty cool, actually.

Gave me a chuckle though. Didn't peg Tom to be such a softy.

No but in all honestly. I love the guy

I just think he seems so cool; I'd do just about anything to meet him and just hug him.

How anyone doubts he's going to give an earnest and strong performance is beyond me.

The man is a great actor and is working with one of the most thorough and effective directors in a very long time. It's written in gold already.

Sometimes a little faith can go a long way

It's obvious that he's still pretty new to the business/fame if he lets things said about him affect him. The more famous you get, the more (undeserved) "haters" you will have. You'll suddenly read stuff like "I hope *insert actor/actress name* dies because he/she is overrated/horrible/ugly/etc". If he reads half of what people say to more famous actors and he's that sensitive he'll probably end up slashing his wrists. It's endearing but he definitely needs to toughen up and not let things like that affect him.

With you Raganork.

I don't doubt that Hardy will hit it out of the ballpark. I got complete faith in Tom's acting ability and Nolan's vision.

It's funny though, I never envisioned Hardy as Bane, but now I can't see anyone else playing the part.

obvious WB told him to say this. they dont want negative articles about their actors.
