like i said, Buster is being used for wide shots. That's the size Bane will be. You can't manipulate size in a wide shot.

Yeah and we've seen them go head to head in those wide shots also. At least for that scene, they will be the same size.

To me that was always a corny gimmick to make him appeal to little kids in the comics. The thing that made Bane unique was the fact that he was what Bruce would be in an alternate reality. He was intelligent, strategic, and a martial arts master. Those are the things that I know Bane for. The rest, I could careless about. The point is that Bane should be able to pick Batman apart in a fight. Do you need huge muscles for that? In the real world, size would slow you down and make it difficulty to beat the Batman.



The gas he inhales has a psychological effect.

Say what you will, but Bane becoming larger as a result of taking in Venom was part of his character. While the psychological effect thing is interesting, I hope there's something more. Perhaps it makes him more violent, impervious to pain, etc.

I don't want a Bane in name only.

The "venom" or inhalent will be a factor in the film or else there would be no reason for Bane to have his mask, now how they execute this onscreen is pretty much unknown at this point which is strange.

We literally know nothing really about Banes character in this film other than hes after Batman and is some way affilliated with the LOS.

the mask or helmet on his head has a function.

plus lets not forget the obvious scars on his head and the scar on his neck.

His back seems to go on forever. It's massive.

i think the scaling is throwing you off. They have half of his face blocked, but the design of the mask makes it look like all of his head is in view, when in reality the bottom half of it is not shown, due to the angle.

But look at the arms, they are naturally proportional to his back, yet his arms aren't big.

I have the same size back, and I rarely work out my back, i just do pull ups every other day.



these arguments are irrelevant, because you can't ignore the fact that Buster's body is completely in view during the wide shots and he looks the same size as Batman.

I'm not arguing against Buster being used in wideouts, nor am I complaining about that. I want Bane to be as tall, if not taller, than Batman.

As for the photo, I'll agree to disagree. I'm not denying that it's probably a camera trick that makes Hardy's back look so big in the picture. But nonetheless, the resulting effect is that of a massive back. And it is clearly the emphasis in that photo. There's no denying that. And when the photo calls your attention to the size of it, that says something to me.
