that still has nothing to do with acting

anybody can put on weight or lose weight it doesnt take acting ability to do that

acting is what you do in a scene whether it is physical or energetic

It's just another thing that makes him such a talented person. Besides, no one said he's a great actor because of his weight loss, did they? No...

Acting Student stop trolling we all know your not a "real" acting student.lol

Funny enough, Chris Nolan has never watched Bronson.

How did he cast you then?

Hardy: He liked me from RocknRolla actually. [laughs] I played the gay getaway driver.

...

I mean, can you talk about working with Nolan this time?

Hardy: Oh, I love working with Chris Nolan. I’ll do anything with him.

Ooooooooooh. :atp:

Alright then. Here's some more Tommy
I recommend watching this video[YT]eXwf_xEAtPI[/YT]

I really want to see this side of him in TDKR. Terrifying.

I had a dream last night, by the way. And it felt very real and genuinely scary. Hardy was noticeably taller and bigger than Bale. Bane was stomping forward at Batman, pushing him down a corridor dead end. No way out. Batman was exhausted and backing away, throwing weak punches. They reach the back wall, and the inevitable break on the knee happens. There was a big feeling of impending doom about it all. Something like that in the film would be very much welcomed.

It's going to be great cinema seeing Bale and Hardy go toe to toe!

Hardy's giving Bale a run for his money with the weight fluctuations. But until his pulls the equivalent of what did Bale did in The Machinist (and for that matter, Batman Begins), he won't be the king.

I am sure Hardy is fine with that. Those weight fluctuations sound like hell on the body.

.... You're gonna have to give me some examples from that film, because I could not disagree with you more. In fact, I laughed. If any of Hardy's performances could go toe-to-toe with Bardem's physical acting in No Country, it would be Bronson.

In any case, thanks for the interview, Raul. So Hardy is ten pounds heavier than he was in Bronson. Bane is going to be beasting.
to bad that he doesnt look as big as in Bronson or Warrior.

yeah i know that video, great acting right there.

Remember how people were saying Tom was bisexual? He isn't.

‘I had a distinct lack of male role models, apart from the ones I chose. Boys are not qualified to pick healthy ones. I held onto my immaturity.’

This much candour makes you wonder whether Hardy ever regrets being, well, quite frank. ‘I don’t regret anything I’ve ever said. It’s just a shame things are misconstrued and I don’t get the opportunity to explain.’ Not even the time he said he’d enjoyed relationships with men in his twenties?

‘I have never put my penis in a man,’ is Hardy’s characteristically direct response. ‘I’ve never had a cock in my arse, and I have no ****ing desire for it. If that’s what you like, cool. But it doesn’t do it for me.’ He’s irritated his words were taken out of context, but conceded, ‘one thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about’.

Thanks for the clarification, Tom. :funny:

Don't make me get the hose.

:pal:

It's interesting that every actor who's worked with Nolan says how much they enjoy working with him. You don't see actors making those sorts of statements about other directors very often anymore.

You're right, he doesn't. I know this has been debated over and over again, but the teaser picture they released of Bane makes him look gigantic. I remember the majority here being on cloud nine when they saw it. Yet, when we see him on set, he definitely looks smaller. I can't tell if it's the angle, the way his head is turned, or just computer magic, but he looks bigger in that picture. Makes me feel like they're going to employ some of the same methods in the final product. Hope I didn't open the can of worms again. Let the face palm smileys commence!

Btw, first noob post here (obviously). Been lurking since the TDK days like many I'm sure, but wanted to get in on the conversations. So, uh, hello! :oldrazz:

I've thought about that too. It's like certain musicians prefer certain producers. They get the best product out of their artist. Unlike other directors who have great actors in their film, but can't get an ounce of emotion out of them. Namely like that jerk who keeps changing his 30 year old movies. I'm soooo happy the Ewoks blink now! :o

Welcome. And you are totally correct. Set photos and video won't give us a true picture of how he will look on screen, only an indication. The teaser footage certainly gives the impression of bulk.

Wow...the amount of sexual things I'd do with this man...

Anyway at :17 that voice, deeper and I'm perfectly fine with Bane's voice

“The 32-year-old Inception star, who is engaged to British actress Charlotte Riley, 28, and also has a two-year-old son with a former girlfriend. But asked if he’d ever had any sexual relations with other men, the broody actor said: ‘As a boy? Of course I have. I’m an actor for ****’s sake. ‘I’ve played with everything and everyone. I love the form and the physicality, but now that I’m in my thirties, it doesn’t do it for me. I’m done experimenting but there’s plenty of stuff in a relationship with another man, especially gay men, that I need in my life. A lot of gay men get my thing for shoes. I have definite feminine qualities and a lot of gay men are incredibly masculine.’”
The paper adds: “In an interview with Now magazine, the former party-boy who has battled drink, drugs and crime to turn his life around, added: ‘A lot of people say I seem masculine, but I don’t feel it. I feel intrinsically feminine. I’d love to be one of the boys but I always felt a bit on the outside. Maybe my masculine qualities come from overcompensating because I’m not one of the boys.’”

Just means I have to work harder

I read a few reviews of warrior and there's a good chance it'll get a lot of Oscar buzz. There saying tom hardy might even get a best actor nomination
