The Dark Knight Rises Tom Hardy as Bane XIV

Are you serious guy? You don't like the voice so you convinced yourself its not what he's gonna use cause of some random ass technical piece of movie making trivia you just found out about?

Whenever it's time to come up with ideas it's always linear basic story writing stuff. Revenge or a tortured past, like you can write "Tortured past" into a screenplay and get a good film. "He should make the Riddler psychological" oh no ****.

Bane's voice is what you hear dude, and it's really stupid thinking to imagine that he would change it during looping just because they could. That's like expecting them to be changing the sound of the Tumbler's engine to a waterfall just because they have the ability to.

But that's not why you said it you just want them to change it so you said you think they will. Now lets close the book on that cause it's really stupid.

And WTF did you expect? Antonio Banderas? Bane's voice is gonna be super popular because it works, like the Joker's. He sounds like he's zoomin @200mph on a mix of booze DXM and cocaine but he hates you enough to still focus through it and destroy you and your city.

I have no idea what you are going on about.

We're going to have to start denying access to these boards for people with WB and allusions to the company in their Usernames.

Some of us actually know about sound you know. Regardless of whether or not that's Bane's voice in that stadium video, I can pretty much guarantee you that will not be the final audio.

As far as the final voice, how about this: I don't know. That could be it, but I don't think its ridiculous to think Hardy was hamming it up in the name of secrecy. One side of this argument will eventually be right, but that doesn't mean anyone actually knew before hand. Everyone whose acting sure about this is, yay or nay, speaking beyond their knowledge.

My Ninja says he was there when They spoke about the voice and that Nolan was "was not feeling it" and they were going to explore options in post production.

It was one of the things he seemed most sure about. That, Catwoman's costume, the Tumblers and the 'Batwing'

and the other three are either confirmed or heavily suggested to be true.

Well, that'd be something to go on. This is news to me. I was speaking to a scenario where people aren't going by any solid info but are still so sure.

I know, I was just filling you in on some of the info I had.

The scenario you were speaking to is all but too common here.

This seems a little odd. Surely there have been other Bane dialogue scenes shot by now? Why would the stadium scene be the first time the issue was raised?

Not questioning you, just somewhat questioning the info.

This is exactly what I asked him; but he had only been around on set for a few scenes and this was his first one with Tom Hardy on set.

He did suggest that it didn't seem like Nolan was livid but, had turned a corner so to speak.

So it's possible they had used this voice other times and he was just letting marinate all together and that was finally it.

Also since he's wearing that mask its possible he just wasn't using a voice at all and just delivering the lines for pacing effect and this was one of the first times he actually had to speak loud and concise for others to hear.

I don't know, I'm making up excuses here but it could be a lot of reasons.

Or maybe my Ninja is wrong...who knows? He hasn't been yet though

i thought it was said that Hardy was joking because he knew that they would use post voice in those scenes?

I asked if it were a joke but, he said he may have been 'fooling around' but he didn't think so because he's acting and it's a job and he didn't seem to be in a joking mood; he was concentrated on being Bane.

But he stressed there was room for that option. (he was on the other side of the field for the takes apparently)

That makes sense, Tom REALLY gets into his character. In his mind he IS Bane, not playing Bane. Other actors do get lost in the character but Tom and Christian are two of the best. I can picture Tom having a laugh as Bane but not until he's done shooting or at least taking a break.

He said he lashed out at any kind of authority or demand when he was preparing for Bronson lol.

Funny you bring that up, I was just watching an interview of Ryan Gosling for his upcoming movie Driver. He said that, whenever he comes out of a good movie, he always feels like he is the protagonist, and he changes his attitude and demeanor to feel more like that character. It's a good way to understand how some of the best and well-known actors become their role, rather than jut assume it. You can see this in all of the main heroes and villains in Nolan's universe. I was convinced that I wasn't watching Christian Bale, but Bruce Wayne. And the majority of that believably is derived from the actor's devotion to the role...that means physical and mental training. Hardy is used to both.

To add to that:

There was no amount of worry about Hardy on set. Nolan was said to be 'beaming' over he and Anne Hathaway.

Understandably so. Hardy is a fantastic actor. I couldnt believe that when he was cast people assumed he would be Hugo Strange. The boy seems perfect for Bane. And Anne has always been a great actress. Nolan has picked a dream cast for me.

Also Rag, I don't think you get enough credit for your info. Si thank you, some of us do appreciate your work :)

It's all my ninja. He's been great. Coincidentally he's going to L.A. for another stint with the production.

But thanks I know he appreciates it

If it works it works, but I wish acting techniques other than Method would get more kudos from people. Just look at other actors in Nolan flicks for good examples. DiCaprio, Oldman, Caine. Those guys aren't method actors, it's more purely technique, but, it works wonderfully and I wish the more classical techniques would get more credit.

There's also the misconception that all Method acting entails never breaking character. Yeah, Daniel Day Lewis does that, but he's an extreme example. Plenty of actors who use the Method don't just stay in character all the time. Like Michael Caine described in his autobiography, Heath Ledger was friendly and full of energy before cameras rolled. He didn't become the Joker until it was time for a take.

I'm pretty certain the voice we heard is what we gonna get (at least something similar in approach). But maybe that's just me hoping cause I thought it was wicked cool.

It's certainly different to what most of us would have expected. But that's no bad thing necessarily. I think it depends on how the voice fits with the character in context, and we haven't seen enough to be able to make an informed opinion.

I assume you are referring to George Lucas' current round of god awful Star Wars 'corrections' for the Blu-ray editions? Good lord, that man single handedly destroyed any enthusiasm I once had for that series. Even if Bane had a terrible voice in the final film, I'd 100 percent support keeping it in there, because that's what it is. But indeed, I'm sure it will be all sorted out before then in post.

I certainly was referring to that disgrace and I have no intention of buying the blu-ray. I'm counting on Lucas having it written in his Will to ever having the unaltered original trilogy released on blu-ray... but I'm sure he'll somehow have his ghost replace Yoda at the end of Return of the Jedi.
