I think the whole reason why people cannot understand Bane, which I do not share this problem, is that we cannot see his lips moving since he's wearing a mask when he's speaking.

I've never heard a compliant about the lack of understanding Darth Vader in the Star Wars movies.

well Darth Vader wasn't being recorded for his voice though, was he? It was dubbed over by James Earl Jones. Plus the effects done to his voice are vastly different to Hardy's sound.

Yes, of course, but your point was that the reason why people were having a hard time understanding him, was because we couldn't see his lips move. I'm sure if Nolan used the same techniques, that it would help considerably, but in all honesty, I don't see that happening. There is a chance, but I doubt it.

I must say, my problems with Hardy being cast and his physical size aside, I am encouraged by Nolan's comments on NolanBane's brutality.

His mouth being covered is definitely not the primary cause of the problem, but I could imagine it being a contributing factor for some people.

I'm of the opinion that the airplane was the biggest problem, especially at an IMAX viewing. All that is happening on that huge screen and the loud background noise is a lot to handle when you're trying to process what this man with a strange voice is saying, I imagine. I just hope that Nolan doesn't alter Bane's voice too much if he does anything, because I really love it, and cannot wait to hear and see him on the big screen.

I think a better look at the voice of bane will come with the trailer. He will speak in the trailer for sure. I think we will get a look at his voice in the context of other scenes, maybe dialogue heavy scenes without much background noise. It will be a good indication of what to expect.

He sounds Russian, am I hearing his voice wrong? I know he should have a South American accent... Also its muffled due to obviously poor quality recording as well as the scene. He's in like a cargo plane with the door open, it's going to be hard to hear.

I love bane's voice I'll admit i wasn't a fan until i heard it with all the effects but I must admit I listened to it without the subtitles and i could only make out, shoot a man before throwing them off a plane, it doesnt matter who i am but what matters is our plan, care about me before putting on the mask, and it would be extremely painful for you, of course, we have to find out what he told them, to ...plane...and those...the fire rises, this is no time for fear that comes later everything else was gargled and hard to understand mostly because if the bad quality I'm sure and all the other sound but they should make his voice clearer as i said it would take me and the GA out of the movie if they keep it like that and dont add subtitles or clean up the audio so it's clearer and easy to understand otherwise it will just become frustrating.

Everyone is getting worried over nothing and it is ******ed: 1.) Bane's voice during the prologue is playing with plane noises, it wouldn't be realistic to have Bane or ANY voice be crystal clear. 2) Everyone is basing their opinions off of hearsay from a very small group of people who saw it ONE time or from a horrible quality bootleg in which A LOT of people still could hear Bane clearly including me who listened to a version that didn't have subtitles. 3) Seeing it in IMAX has nothing to do with it, I've been in IMAX's before in which the levels weren't exact and overpowered dialogue...example being the first time I saw TDK.

They are NOT going to "clean up" his voice other than any normal film. ADR will be done because I'm sure it was done for the prologue. The prologue is finished audio. He will be clearer in the rest of the movie because I'm sure he won't be in a loud plane the whole rest of the movie.
