Another thing that helps me root for the villains is that I hate Battys "three fingers of whiskey and 2 packs of swisher sweets" voice.

Can not one of you honestly admit in TDK when nobody blew the other boat up that the jokers disappointed and lonely face as the dramatic music swelled made your heart go out to him? I wanted to hug him or console him, even in spite of the fact he looked so grimy I could smell him on the screen.

That's what I ADORE about baddies. They spend extra time investing in the bad guys since its a given to root for the heroes.
