The Dark Knight Rises Tom Hardy as Bane XXII

It's word how David Finch should know better than to misuse Bane like that when Finch has been in the comic industry for years.

I'm sorry. They are all Bane. Just like Bats can be the Caped Crusader and the Dark Knight, Bane can be a cerebral, intelligent Luchador, or a dumb, unitelligible BDSM enthusiast, or a shrewd, charismatic, brilliant BDsM enthusiast or a dumb luchador. You may prefer one interpretation to the other, but that doesnt make the opposing interpretation any less valid. In fact, a more valid question to ask is whether this movie Bane is simply Bane nominally or not.

To a certain degree you're right but there's no excuse for legitimate bad writing. Otherwise, constructive critism wouldn't exist because your line of thinking can be too diplomatic and broad if it's used excessively.

Rats are a good source of protein.

:BA

That's even more ridiculous. You know how many rats you should eat a day to get that big? I highly doubt he ate swarms of rats while being down there. And even if he did, it's not just about protein. A whole lot other things should be done in order to get THAT BIG.

The comic book did not show every second of his life in prison. There was nothing to confirme that the prison had no weight room

But then again, it's just a comic book. Even random pedestrians in comics use to have the physique of a bodybuilder.

There is something seriously wrong with people's aesthetical senses when they prefer a version of Bane in which his biceps look three times larger than his own head.

Or a Catwoman with goggles for Cat ears. Indeed aesthetic eyes have been plucked out and fried and fed to Killer Croc.

He ate rats AND fish when he was in the hole. Fish is the best source for protein (after eggs). Bane is mostly depicted extreem huge because of Kelly Jones's covers (which were great btw). During Knightfall he was never extreme huge, just covers.

I saw This Means War, wasn't expecting much, but I absolutely loved the film! No, it's not a brilliant film which will win awards, I haven't checked but I'm guessing all the critics hated it as well, but there was never a dull moment in the film.
This will probably be the first film I will willingly see twice in the cinema, just because Tom Hardy is just too awesome.
I know that Chris&Tom are actors that could do a lot better and peruse more challenging roles, but this film was perfect with the 2 of them. Any Tom Hardy fans who aren't sure about it, go, you'll love it.

You don't get big from protein. You get big from glycogen replenishment (and pharmaceutical help if one is inclined). That's a little known fact and every "internet lifter" will say you gotta eat tons of protein. Simply not true. But, more to the point, if he was eating rats, or fish, or whatever he would be in ketosis and he would be losing weight not gaining it.

You got me wrong, what you're saying is exactly what I meant. To get that big, you need to do a lot of stuff, not just simply do 1000 pushups/pullups/situps/crunches a day, or eat a lot of protein, etc. It's a combined effort. You can get ripped, but there's no way you can get that huge and muscular.

It's okay. :hrt:

Morrison confuses me and tries to ruin Batman... :csad:

Nah, his work is brilliant.

How can you not love Batman shooting Darkseid with the God killing bullet of Orion in Final Crisis?? That whole scene could be the greatest Batman moment ever.

Gotcha.

A replica of Bane's coat is up for auction on ebay, I remember a few of you wanted one. It's a low starting bit too.

You can get sheep skin coats like that anywhere really. Well, in the winter you probably could.

I've always said that Batman's three best villains are in this order:

1. The Joker
2. Ra's Al Ghul
3. Bane

If I had to add a #4, it's clearly Two-Face.

Two-Face? Really? I would think Riddler has given him more hell over the years. But nah, your good with those in the top 3.

Who wants to bet H&M will be producing a Bane-style clothing line like they did for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo? :D

Not even that! Batman in the series is like, what, 6'2. Bane could be at least the same height or as tall as 6'5; fairly muscular, but nothing UNBELIEVABLY huge. He got most of his muscles and body structure just doing a 1,000 of every recreational exercise in prison for nearly 20 years; it's that spirit of the character in which I believe that Venom wouldn't even be necessary for him to defeat Batman.

Bane.

This picture, to me, really reminds me of what we know of Bane's character in TDKR. Barging into homes with a gang with brutality and bringing with him sheer terror.

Also, I am really tempted to read Knightfall. The only graphic novel I ever owned from Batman was TDKReturns, which I enjoyed. I only buy graphic novels if they bring something significantly different to the table, but I am so unfamiliar with Bane I think Knightfall might be worth the money.

(In fact, I think the only graphic novels I own are Watchmen, TDKReturns, V for Vendetta, and Persepolis.)

That's one thing I love about the Nolan trilogy. They're less "based on" the comics and more "inspired by" them. He slightly modifies them to bring them into his world, where he utilizes them to personify his themes and tell his story. Bane doesn't have to be the size of Shaquille O'Neal on steroids. A 5'9 Brit with an extra 30 lbs. of muscle does the job effectively.
