Supergirl Tyler Hoechlin IS Superman - Part 2

Ratings for Supergirl and are fine, but I can see Arrow ending since it is the oldest one.

I don’t know how long Melissa’s contract, but I agree that she could after it finishes.

I haven't followed any of the shows. Are the ratings for Supergirl and Arrow that bad?
No, they're both in the top 5 of the network. They won't get cancelled due to ratings alone. But Arrow has renegotiated contracts which means Amell (and the rest of the cast) are getting paid more, which means slightly less incentive for renewal for the network. Only way Supergirl ends is if Melissa wants to move on, which seems like a real possibility since she's the only Arrowverse lead who's been doing legit projects outside of Supergirl. She seems like she's interested in having a career beyond this role.

Tyler has shown what he can do as an evil Superman. Think about what it would be like if played Bizarro, Injustice Superman, Evil Superman from Superfriends, Red Sun Superman, and maybe Flashpoint Superman.

That black suit could also be turned into an Earth-X Overman outfit. A little more red trim on the belt and around the crest, change the S-shield to the one Overgirl had, and there you go.

(Still mildly upset that he wasn't the Fuehrer in the last crossover, but it all turned out well in the end.)

Honestly, the ONLY way we will ever see Tyler's superman featured prominently in any crossover is if he gets his own show.

That's is the ONLY reason why he never had his big heroic moment throughout the entire crossover. Since he only exists in the confines of Supergirl's show as her special guest star, he will never be allowed to outshine the main leads.

I enjoyed Hoechlin in the crossover much more than I did when saw him originally.
It made me want a Superman series even more. Goddamnit. :funny:

Which is also kind of ironic because as much as more people are clamoring for a new Superman TV Series after this crossover, I feel like the producers pretty much retired the character for good as well.

The more that I think about it now, I don't think we will ever see Superman again.

So both Superman AND Batman in the Arrowverse retired the cape/cowl to their cousins. Well ain't that a B....

Yeah I mentioned that in another thread.
Definitely seems like they killed the possibility of a Supes series.

Honestly, look back on it all, Superman wasn't really required for this year's crossover. His so called role could have easily been given to Martian Manhunter with a few tweaks in the script.

Superman spent the entire portion of the finale getting his ass handed to him and never managed to land a single critical hit against Deagan or even Amazo.

Theory: The heads might be planning to make a Superman show taking place at Argo, where he's depowered and solving/stopping crimes the old fashion way, and throw in some political drama.

Superman actually did land a pretty massive hit against Amazo. It just didn't put him down for the count. And after he copied them all, it was a Team Effort to stop him. I think overall I prefer the fight against Amazo. The fight against Evil Superman was a letdown, started strong, then Supes got his ass handed to him by a copycat.

Pretty much. If Superman had been portrayed in a way where he was at least Evil Superman's equal then I wouldn't feel like this at all. However, he had his ass handed to him at EVERY turn in tonight's episode.

God if "Arrow" ends up concluding after another season, then we are just going to be stuck with shows like "The Flash" (which has gotten considerably worst since its debut), "Supergirl" and "Batwoman" (two shows that seems to mainly serve as a platform for SJW writers to spread their political agendas), and "Legends of Tomorrow" (which comes off as stupid show that seems to only focus on exploiting the sexual attractiveness of its female stars). You can't really count "Black Lightning" since it isn't a part of the Arrowverse as of yet. Dark times are indeed ahead.

Evil Superman is the guy who rewrote reality to make himself the most powerful being in it, btw. It's conceivable he'd be able to overpower Supes in the world he created.

You know, that's actually a good theory, one that I'm willing to agree with as well. And even before the crossover, I did feel like Dark Suit Superman felt more intimidating and powerful looking than our regular one.

Though on another note, it's a shame that we never got a chance to see Superman feel like a leader figure among the other heroes. What a missed opportunity.

When he was left standing in STAR Labs, that felt really awkward. ='D Kara and Barry are off risking their lives, and Oliver is going to see Mar Novu, but not before telling Superman to get the book. Everyone had a game plan, but the superhero veteran barely had any input.

Agreed. Heck, they even had him say that Oliver had more "hope" or "faith" in Kara and Barry than he (Clark) did, which is so weird given who the characters are and what they're known for standing.

Hell, even Batwoman looked like a seasoned veteran when working alongside the Arrowverse trinity compared to Superman who needed to be guided for every action that he made. He pretty much served as a glorified punching bag in this entire crossover.

Whether it be the DCEU or the Arrowverse, the characters of Superman and Batman just can't seem to catch a break. It's like they're not relevant anymore.

If Dark Superman got the upper hand, it's likely that the Kryptonite weakness was not included and had the powers of the book in addition to having Superman and Supergirl's powers.

Superman barely had any input since his mind was on Lois. At the end of part 1, he had to go back to Earth-38 for Lois. It was also what he saw in the book concerning Barry and Kara.

Superman and Lois will likely return for next year's Crisis On Infinite Earths. You can't do Crisis without them.

I still stand by that he was used better than the Justice League movie.

Yes I still want a Superman solo TV series based on Rebirth.

Yeah I also noticed that Melissa's priorities seemed to be pursuing a career outside Supergirl as her priorities may be shifting. I think they're planning to do a possible Superman TV series to replace Supergirl should MB decide not to renew her contract. Not to mention she just turned 30 this year.

Superman's role in the crossover was to once again say how much better Kara is then him and then retire. They could've done a better job then what they did.

I don't see how a kryptonite weakness even makes sense as there was no kryptonite involved in that fight, and when there was, Dark Superman is susceptible as well, since he was the one taken down by the kryptonite arrow from Oliver.

Honestly, I do not believe that the arrow Oliver used to take down Deagan was the kryptonite one that he had brandished earlier. It had an unsual bluish glow and I assumed it was specially given to him by the Monitor since it also destroyed the book.

That was not Kryptonite arrow from Oliver since it was blue.
