Portman doesn't need to appear from the waist upwards. She can appear on a screen talking to Selvig (or someone else) and Thor is there, and then they can both have a moment. She can say that she thought he was going to come and visit her and he'll say that he had pressing matters to attend to. It's not difficult to hide her pregnancy, especially for just a cameo.

We've had quite a few unannounced cameos that do eventually end up featuring. Samuel L Jackson was quite late to Captain America. Even Downey Jr was only announced later for TIH and not at the start of production.

So how was Saturday at Dolphin? Better experience than M. Lakes?

It was good, my seats weren't the greatest had to move due to a party of kids reserving two whole rows lol but the movie was even better a second time :)

I'm guessing Selvig will be working with SHIELD when they bring Thor back, while Jane continued to work on it back in New Mexico (I'm sure they'll mention that her work was vital to their success). SHIELD will tell him there are urgent matters at hand, he'll work with the Avengers to stop whatever threat they face, and then at the end, Selvig will tell him there's someone in New Mexico who'd love to see him if he wanted to stick around. Then they can deal with the reunion in Thor 2.

Basically, I think Skarsgard is their much cheaper way to continue the plotline of Thor without needing to pay a Portman-sized salary.

Some call it cheap, I call it smart :woot:

I hear ya. I liked it better the 2nd time too.

AS Much as I'd personally like to see Jane and Thor reunite next year instead of having to wait 3 years from now to see them do so in the sequel, I think Natalie somewhat confirmed that she is NOT appearing in the film.

I mean, if Josh and Natalie end up changing their mind and feel that having Jane in it for a small reunion cameo wouldn't hurt but help, then by all means I'd be up for it, but for the time being, it seems like she won't be in it.

Three years until the sequel, ugh, don't remind me :(

You'd think someone would've told Chris that Cap and Thor have a brotherly bond. I liked the camaraderie between Evans and Hemsworth that was evident in the USA Today shoot, I hope it shows up on screen and it's not all tension between Thor/Hulk, Tony/Cap and Tony/Thor.

I don't really want Thor and Cap to fight, I'd like to see Captain America as the person that resolves most of the teams conflicts with his words.

It makes since that Jane Foster wont be in the avengers thats just one more plot line that would feel crammed in. This isnt thors story this is the Avengers story. I have seen very little about people needing a Pepper cameo or a Betty one. I wonder why. If Bruce becomes a hero in the public eye then i would think he would NEED to see betty even more then Thor would WANT to see Jane beings as he wouldnt be running anymore. It would be safe

it'd be nice to see her but i doubt it I wish we would get a cameo from Ross too

Marvel and Disney are crazy if they'll pay Portman her full, post-Oscar asking price just to do one scene (which is a few million). If Portman does a cameo in The Avengers (pre- or post-pregnancy), they'll just pay her day by day for the scene(s) she works.

And Portman doesn't strike me as unreasonable or a diva. I don't think she'd pull a Julia Roberts-esque deal like for Valentine's Day. Roberts got $3M plus a backend deal just for several scenes. That's crazy.

Hi one and all i'm new to this site i have seen thor 5 times now mad i know but like other's i would also like to Jane Foster in the avengers as well cause i'd hate to wait another 3 years or so for thor 2. :csad:

Even though the Avengers isn't about one single superhero alone, it's going to be interesting to see as to how they bring Thor over without some good amount of focus going into his character when compared to some of the others considering:

1. Where his own film left him off

2. That the film has more characters from his own singular film returning in this film than anyone else has so far
