Apocalypse X-Men: Apocalypse Box Office Prediction Thread - Part 2

Reaching 1 billion still isn't an easy thing to do.

Mystique leading the team and giving speeches is not accurate

Mystique being J-Law 70% of the movie is not accurate

Beast being Human 70% of the film is not accurate
That's still just two characters. This series has done a lot worse than that. This time around we got:
- Ororo with an accent
- Ororo living as a thief in Cairo
- Apocalypse with horsemen
- Havok and Scott related
- Wolverine's headpiece
- Battle on astral plane
- More comic book accurate costumes in the end
- Phoenix energy/fire bird
Quite a bit of things that the previous movies didn't give us.

I'm probably the biggest X-Fan in the world and IDC what they do I'll see the movies 10+ in theaters regardless but I'm sick and tired of my favorite thing in the world be kicked around ****ted on. X-Men is a joke now and that's the honest truth we're the red headed step child bastard of super heroes now and it makes me sick.

Avengers/Justice League can't hold the X-Men's jock it feels like were living in the Bizzaro World now.

Gotta love the hyperbole.

Who cares if X-men isn't the most popular. All you should care about is if you enjoyed the film. Ignore what others say. And I would hardly call the X-men the red headed step child of CBMs. There are quite a few others that have been received less favorably.

I think they just need to understand what makes the X-Men and those characters so great, and translate that to the big screen. They did with Magneto, Charles, their dynamic, and Wolverine. But not with everybody else.

Deadpool is a big exemple of that. The audience loved not because it was especifically comic accurate, they they don't know the comics. But Miller, Reynolds and the team involved managed to capture what makes the character so great and so beloved and they translated that well on screen.

Hell, Colossus was far more entertaining and interesting in Deadpool than in three X-Men movies.

Sometimes changes can be very good. Quicksilver worked, but he is one example of that. But what about Colossus, Rogue, Psylocke, Emma, Havok, Bishop, Bobbie, Kitty, Juggernault, Sabretooth, Toad, Sunspot, Jubilee, Banshee, and some other characters just wasted on the X-Men films?

They need to change that.

Other people enjoying these films is the only reason they are made for me at all. If I love it and watch it 10 times my $100 is probably not going to be enough for them to make another one.

The decision making process is so suspect

I didn't mean to derail the thread.

My showing starts at 7:00pm. I'll be back again Sunday night & Monday afternoon.

I love X-Men I just want it to be great.

I'm just tired of settling.

Nice Korea :)

South East Asia loves their comic book movies.

Bingo

Well, call it sour grapes but as an X-Men fan over any other comic franchise, it does make me sad to see it as a bit of an also-ran in this golden age of adaptations. I had hoped this could be a turning point to see it build upon DOFP's critical and financial gains. And to see it underperform in both those areas is shocking and while I'm sure this will perform respectably, I do expect Fox will be wondering what went "wrong" here.

We all know why Mystique is mostly normal looking.why they do with beast i
have no idea. But beast In Apocalypse is in blue form during second half of film.
They even make a joke with nightcrawler there of mystique and beast not being blue.

Apocalypse is most comic booky film In series.I want this film to be viewed as success so we can get phoenix and dark phoenix with this cast.Ok maybe not
Lawrence but you get the drift.

Disney be like, "Yeah it is."

Except each subsequent team movie Disney made scored lower than the previous one. ;)

Enjoy! :)
I believe since the start of this decade, only in 2014 did Disney not have a billion dollar movie. In 2010, 2013 and 2015 they had multiple billion dollar movies. Last year they had one crack a billion. This year, if Zootopia crosses the mark, that is already two, with Nemo and Star Wars to come.

I think Darth was referring to Disney rolling out four $1 billion dollar plus films since December. That includes the box office flop, Captain America: Civil War.

It was a lot harder for them before they started buying successful franchises. The performance of John Carter, Prince of Persia, Lone Ranger and TRon was a real eye opener for them.

Well don't you think that's abit strange then? They both appear in human form for a certain amount but we don't know why they did it with beast but it's obvious why they did it with mystique?

Seems to me if they can do it with beast for unknown reasons then maybe we all really don't don't know as much as we think.

Frozen, Pirates, and Alice were all in house to be fair. They have owned Pixar for over a decade now. There was no billion dollar Marvel movie before they bought them. And technically not a Star Wars one either. Stupid inflation. :argh:

I would love to get into those billion dollar box office debates but until this franchise breaks that threshold I think people should try to not get into those measuring contests. This franchise just isn't appealing to the maximum amount of people, it's as simple as that. It's something they need to work on, nothing wrong with that.

Or maybe it is. Maybe there is simply a ceiling on X-Men movies, and there is nothing wrong with that. Though I feel like Deadpool proved that wrong. Like these movies aren't reaching a huge chuck of the audience that would be more then willing to see it.
