A hard reboot would solve continuity issues and offer a more faithful adaptation of comics. There could be more of a team emphasis which is what people want. With Deadline mulling the possibility, it seems like the probable outcome.

It will probally mean the end of darkness, seriousness, and allegary themes In
series.people who wanted X-men to be rebooted to fit the more comedic world
of deadpool may get their wish.

Some characters in X-men will always get more focus than others.

no X-Men movies are way better than movies like "X-Men: Apocalypse" and "X-Men Origins: Wolverine"...and I think the general audience agrees!

And watch the general audience say "really, another reboot?".

Even the supposedly great Days of Future Past couldn't hit 250 million in the states.

Your perfect hero Bryan Singer directed Apocalypse. You can't blame Ratner for this one buddy.

Days of Future Past was more of an event film than Apocalypse. Timetravel, joint casts, giant robots. Combine this with great reviews and you get a franchise high at the box office.

Apocalypse lacks the nostalgia of the original trilogy cast and has a pretty simple story that has been seen before. No Wolverine on the poster. Lots of new faces people don't care about yet.

with jackman gone the original cast is gone too.

Apocalypse did things the other X-men films haven't and it didn't help at all.

I'm telling you...the general audience couldnt care less if something is a reboot. Seriously. Remake maybe, but not a reboot

whether you want a reboot or not, it's a silly thing to say that the GA cares about these things

What is with you and comedy. X-POC had plenty of levity. I personally just want more continuity and slightly more respect for the source material.

The box office is going to be very limited until they get their action/visuals on to the level (or at least on the path towards it) of the current competition. Civil War shows how good combo moves and teamwork from superpowered heroes can look. X-Men can have a different tone but much of the GA who attends a superhero movie wants to see things like that and X-Men has the material to deliver on it.

Just think guardians of the galaxy still made more then DOFP, Was not an event movie, nothing but new faces, no nostalgia, no avengers, not on Earth.

Then again DOFP and gardians both received good reviews compared to apocalypse anyway, so we we can't really say what would have happened in apocalypse hit around the 80% on RT

most people don't want contunity.they may moan about it but they are happy
to do it when it suits them.all those wanting psylocke to be in future set X-force at same age as she was In 1983 In apocalypse for one.

yep apoaclypse like all X_men films have humor but very soon most darkness,
seriouness,and serious issues allegary.

Ask Sony how it's going with their "reboots".

That's because the movies weren't received well by audience. Not because they were reboots. Again that's silly.

You really think people were like: "Yeah that movie was good, but it's a reboot so I didn't like it"?

The X-Men films have always had plenty of levity.

X-Men always have had a perfect blend of seriousness and humor/levity

People want Psylocke in X-Force so she can be a developed character.

Shocking that X-Men fans would want that with a popular X-Men...

honey, I am not saying it is not Singer's fault. He is the one who decided to choose the dullest X-Men villain in the books, accepted an embarrassingly idiotic script and he forgot all socio-political relevancy!

I am just saying it is very ironic to see that Marvel at the moment is adapting 'Civil War' that uses an obiviously recycled X-Men plot and it toning down its comic book silliness!

Singer's 2000 grounded approach will be back in no time!

GOTG had the MCU brand (posters saying "from the studio that brought you the Avengers") and novelty in its favor.

Civil War didn't tone down the "comic book silliness"

Yeah, [BLACKOUT]It even had Spider-Man taking down Giant Man like an ATAT. haha[/BLACKOUT] It's just balanced out well.

Or put it like this, he bit off a lot more than he could chew. He went full-on ambitious with this one.

Did he succeed 100%? Nope, but I give him some credit for getting out of his comfort zone.

Good point.

Guardians of the Galaxy was a unique concept with the Marvel brand attached, which is a big seller. The trailers actually looked fun.

Mundane Coldplay songs in trailers doesn't get bums on seats.

But the X-Men are not just some superhero brand...making them like the Avengers is the biggest mistake they could try to achieve. Singer understood the core of the source material and used it beautifully till the 'X-Men: Apocalypse disaster...

like I said, Fox/Singer tried to make more money but forgot what made the X-Men brand successfull in the first place: critical acclaim, great scripts and socio-political relevance! this audience is scared off now....
