Nail on the head.

And honestly I dont know what X-Men can do, moving forward, in order to keep the series going strong.

It's simple. FOX needs to get in the sandbox with Marvel just as Sony is doing with Spider-Man.

What is the benefit to Fox? Fox is not as in dire straights as Sony, who is desperate for any hit. Why should Fox be forced to submit to Marvel's release schedule. It is important to note, that we would not get Deadpool as it is, nor the upcoming R-rated Wolverine, if it was under the MCU umbrella. And I think there are enough reports to show that making Spider-man Homecoming has not been without its headache, like any sort of co-production would be like.

What is the benefit to Fox, who has just had a major hit in Deadpool.

...Or continue to expand its reach like it currently is through movie and tv spinoffs.

What reports? from what i've heard they're getting along greatly. Marvel has full creative control.

Yet, they have just worked out a deal to get live action X-men shows made. One that gives the appearance of cooperation.
It's not just that
the universal marketing and brand of X-men is confusing
Who's the main players in the movie?
Mags, Xavier, Mystique, Jean Grey, Beast, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Storm

3 of those guys are dead.

None of the current comic characterization is in sync.
616 X-men is a mess.
Kids cant just go and grab a comic to get caught up

There are no relevant video games
no relevant cartoons
no relevant TV shows
no relevant promoted web series

With the MCU/DCU
you got a brand that matches the theatrical universe to a degree

Can't say as much for FoX-Men

And I just don't see Marvel and Fox sitting at table like, hey we can make alot of money if we just worked together.

I also fully belive the 180$ Million budget, far less big name actors to pay

That can't be the solution to everything and that wouldnt happen anytime soon. So there has to be a solution other than just sell the rights/make a deal with Marvel

Please more american love to the movie.

I could've sworn I've seen reports that there have been a few disagreements. Which is just normal when you have to large entities trying to work together.

Just curious, what reports are you referring to? I haven't heard anything like that.

Yes, they just had a major hit with Deadpool. But they suffered an unmitigated failure with Fantastic Four last summer and the only other CBM tentpole they have is opening with $65 million over 3 days this weekend. So as a company they may not be in dire straights, but their CBM genre is pretty much on suck at the moment.

At the end of the day, FOX is all about making money. If they partner with the Marvel brand they will make assuredly make a disgusting amount more. Or they can choose to stick to this "independent" route they're on and see their CBM stable flounder and diminish as the general public moves on and fanboys throw their hands up and stay home. This is happening now.

It's quite simple.

Yeah, Disney has a corporate family friendly structure that does not do R movies. It would also not be able to do X-force.

Fox does not need X-Men to perform the way Sony needed Spider-Man to perform because they have other franchises.

I think the benefit to joining Marvel in a Sony-style deal is it would give them (a) a hook to draw in Marvel fans, (b) crossover-potential that could draw in MCU fans and good will from appearing crossovers. It would also give them a vision, direction, and good writers and directors.

I think X-men and Fantastic Four in one movie would work.

The only one i've heard was when they were casting Spidey, Marvel wanted Tom & Amy Pascal wanted Charlie Rowe. Marvel obviously came out on top & delivered the definitive characterization, haha.

I must have missed the black Captain America in Civil War. Or Miles Morales as the teenage Spider-man. I don't think we are getting female Thor or Chinese Hulk in Ragnorok. And lets not forget the most recent Cap America issue...

There have been no video games. Period. I think the last major video game was Deadpool or Marvel vs Capcom, both of which included major X characters.

Sure, no cartoons. But again, corporate synergy is not evil. Despite how much you want one.

As for TV shows, they just inked the deal to allow them to be made. Legion just filmed its pilot. We sort of have to wait to see what else Fox is going to develop.

Can we at least wait till Homecoming releases before we declare that Marvel has the golden touch to revive fallen properties.

there are 2 spider man's
miles morales is in the Ultimate Universe..
Real Thor will be back by Thor 3, same as Hulk in Ragnarok, and you're probably going to see some fun tie-in comics to it, just like you had the tie in comics to The Avengers movie

real Cap is back to, just in time for the movie. Marvel knows what they are doing.

500M for XMA and 760 for deadpool is 1.26B. And the movies cost 190 and 58, so around 250 collectively. That's arguably a decent year for the portfolio.

Deadpool and Cable, X-Force, and R-rated Wolverine are all coming.

Agreed. I don't think a Spidey type deal would work for either studio, but there's an awful lot of wiggle room for a new rights sharing arrangement that benefits both parties - and especially the fans. Co-financing, character sharing, agreements on Easter eggs and fan service cameos, merchandising deals - there's a lot that can be done with FOX retaining control over the series.

Daredevil says hi. And Punisher, to a lesser extent. And yeah, Spider-man in CW made people excited for a third version of the character. It might be too early to make that call definitively but it's a safe bet at this point.
I'm not saying this in favor of Fox teaming up with Marvel, I don't think that's necessary and I don't care to see it happen, but it would probably benefit them financially. Outside of Deadpool, they're leaving money on the table.

lol, yeah idk y people makin it out to see like Fox is failing
Also its not tha ASM was doing bad, it actually faired well in the BO, Sony just on life support now and is desperate.

They don't mesh well at all

Yeah. F4 are basically like, what, they can be seen as mutants lol
Seriouslly, I always though if F4 and X-Men were going to be together in a movie made by Fox, that F4 would be mutants. lol
Deadpool was mutant in XMOW; Viper was a mutant in The Wolverine; Juggernaut was a mutant, etc. ..

Of course they are getting along.sony gave up all control of Spider-man to marvel and basiclly is just distributer of Spider-man now.Sony fired everyone involved in Spider-man films to give feige full control.Because of that Stark will be co-star of Spider-man solo film.
