Disney will probably be the #1 studio in 2015 due to Avengers 2 and Star Wars Episode 7 (a film in which I think will be the highest grossing film of 2015, moreso than the Avengers 2).

I don't think Fox will have a bad year though.

They may not be next year, especially if Star Wars Episode 7 is more in line with the original trilogy instead of the prequels, and with actors from the original trilogy returning, that seems likely.

Episode 7 will be big because of return of original cast.After how I viewed Nutrek My faith isn't high on J.J. Abrams but it will make tons of money but i can see some coming away disappointed because they have built it up so much In their minds.Despite online hate prequels made tons of money.And I expect that will continue no matter how i like final film.

Disney will be number 1 In 2015 with them owning marvel studios(Avengers) and Lucasfilm(Star Wars)

As follwup to Skyfall the biggest bond ever that will do very well especilly If Sam Mendes delivers as good a film as Skyfall.I still wonder if Paramount will push next mission Impossible Into 2016.Opening a week after new star wars Isn't exactly the best move.

Fox isnt really having a huge track record these latest years, compared to other studios.

What are you talking about? Fox is the only studio with 6 movies to gross over a $100 million this year domestically. The next closet Buena Vista aka Disney has four.

you know, when movies like Skyfall, Dark Knight, Avengers, Pirates, Alice... have all made more than 1billion and Fox hasnt had any movie having that level of success since Avatar... and no Fox movie has made 300m in USA, well.... to me its not like Fox is on any top.

And the good thing about this is it makes X-Men a little more precious to Fox. Imagine if Fox also has Skyfall, Dark Knight, Pirates, Alice, Avengers and all of them continued to earn more money than X-Men. X-Men could have been in the back burner or Fox would give X-Men less importance.

So I don't worry this kind of stuff. I'd worry if Fox enters bankruptcy which I don't see happening at all. X-Men being *one* of Fox's biggest franchises is a great thing!

Yeah I know. Everything we've seen of F4 looks like *****. Oh wait . . . . What have we seen exactly? Last time I checked it was nothing. You calling bomb before an official image is even dropped? Let alone some teaser footage? Doesn't "seem to be heading" anywhere right now because no one knows anything yet.

Let's remember first FF film was a success with 150 Million domesticly and even rise of silver surfer underperformed In 130 Million range.The reboot may have been made with 100 Million budget.If it was to make around First Class money domesticly.

That film will rise or fall based on GA reaction of trailers and TV spots.

If Thing Is entirely CGI that may be factor why they are waiting to show anything.Fox often keeps it's comic book films under wraps till trailer Is close to being shown.Except for people getting shots from sets both FC and the wolverine were keep under wraps till trailer premiered.With DOFP the reason we got so many images during filming was Bryan Singer posting them since his expercence with Valkrie convinced him It was best if he did big film again he would use twitter to communicate with people.Of course so many people attacked Josh Trank on twitter he deleted his account.

Amd after this year people should stop declaring In advance what film will do at box office.Who would have predicted Captain America would make more domesticly than transformers?That GOTG could end up as top film of Summer?That X-Men domesticly would outgross Divergent,Spider-man,and Godzilla?That Spider-Man would be lowest grossing comic book film of 2014?

Putting aside other relevant issues like the film's quality, the stigma against reboots in general, and the franchise's mediocre brand strength, the film is opening up at the same time as a Jurassic Park sequel and a Pixar film, two proven successes in the box office and also targeting demos that FF needs and won't get.

Alice 2 is only part of a two pronged assault though. The following week there's Turtles 2, which much like the Transformers movies has shown it can overperform in the box office despite horrendous critical reception, and has successfully gone toe-to-toe with a well-received superhero movie.

Not unless the trailers and the actual film are good.

And since this coming from Fox, I think at best, this would be like the Percy Jackson films. Both had a production budget of less than $100 million and both films earned more or less $200 million worldwide. Though this is still a Marvel based film, this one would earn more money.

Exactly. This isn't directed at anyone in particular but I don't get any who want the movie to fail, especially at this point, that won't accomplish anything but no further F4 movies for another decade
