yeah I agree, I am hoping ff blows the haters out of the water. I want FOX to be redeemed. I mean I didnt even mind the ff movies, I do think if marvel released them now as the exact same movie but obviously had galactus as galactus people would give no where near as much flak. That is possibly just me thinking the worst of fans though ha

It makes no sense for Marvel not to cash out on X-Men's global success. Loads of people around the world would buy action figures, clothes, merch, X-Men Legends III (video game), etc. It would sell like hotcakes. I know I would wanna get me that stuff.

Maybe if Fox ends up on a positive work relationship with Marvel Studios the way Sony has, we'll see X-Men merchandise pushed out again.

I wonder who is exactly the person from Fox team that Marvel must hate or something, since they dont want to get some money from X-Men, being a popular superhero team.

as x-er suggests, just because they dont have the movie rights doesnt mean they cant get tons of money from merchandaising. And at the end of the day, its Marvel who makes XMen comics, so the more popular the X-Men are worldwide, the more money Marvel would get.

Ignoring the belief that Disney wants to hurt X-Men brand since fox has film rights.

Disney through Marvel gets only 5 percent of film profits.

Marvel controls merchandise of X-men however Fox gets cut of film merchandise which Is why since disney bought marvel it's believed why there has been no merchandise like there was for trilogy and even origins.

Rather or not X-Men fans like it nothing Is going to change for immedate future.Noone knows for sure if the belief Is true we only have suspecion fueled by studio actions. It's up to both Fox and Disney to change this.

Online I have heard a couple of rumors on Apocalypse while they may be BS at least It's something to get off debate on merchandise.

1:Susposly the four horseman will be Sinister,Wolverine,Archangel, and Plague
2:Susposly Xavier dies In film

I don't think mr sinister will be a horsemen, he has potential to be another villain in another film

Can't see them killing Xavier again especially after the trouble it give the franchise last time and him being shown to be alive in the future anyway.

Pretty sure Ottman is a Nightcrawler fan. :p

Wouldn't surprise if Nightcrawler is indeed back. Its been more than 10 years since we saw him, so its about time that he returns!

Am I the only one who doesn't worry about this? Fox would lose nothing if Marvel eventually stopped releasing comic-books and merchandises. More likely, the people who regularly buy comic-books and look for X-Men stuff would just cling into the upcoming X-Men movies since thats the only new thing they would ever get from X-Men. Merchandises, cartoons, videogames are nice things to have and it could help promote the films but its not the be all of all things.

A box-office analyst at Boxoffice.com said that How to Train Your Dragon's weekly cartoon series might have been a factor why the 2nd film didn't meet expectations because why would kids rush to cinema to watch the film when they could just watch Dragons at home. For a better comparison, lets use Spider-Man, it had a videogame tie-in for the film, a lot of merchandises and doesn't he have an ongoing cartoon series right now? Spider-man is also appearing in Disney Infinity and yet DOFP which is probably the one X-Men movie that has the least amount of merchandises, became the highest grossing comic book film of the year.

And if Marvel stops releasing comic-books, trade paperbacks, hardcovers for the X-Men, it would be their loss most especially they are releasing a dozen of ongoing comic-books every month of this year and if they are able to release a dozen of comic-books every month, it must mean that they are getting a good profit from the X-Men comic-books. Also I don't know anyone in real life who buys X-Men comic-books but I know a lot of people who watch the X-Men films. So the lack of comic-books/merchandizes won't affect the X-Men films. I think Fox just needs to be more aggresive with the marketing, make a deal with IMAX, keep the momentum they got from DOFP, keep the quality of the films and everything would be fine.

It'll be 13 years in 2016. It will have been more than long enough!:cmad::o

Yeah I know.

I still think that picture of him being displayed at the 2014 Comic-Con is a hint that he is indeed appearing in Apocalypse. I mean, why would they flash Nightcrawler's face if he hasn't appeared in a X-Men film for more than 10 years.

Depends. The 90s animated series made a huge impact on the X-Men's popularity. As did them being pretty much the most popular/highest selling characters in comics. Both played big roles into the first films success and interest. But ultimately these films sell themselves. GOTG should be more then enough proof of that.

Yeah, merchandising machines are a nice to have, not a need to have. Look at almost every film that comes out in any given year - the shelves aren't stacked high with merchandise for films like Expendables or Edge of Tomorrow

I have to disagree because there are still plenty of people who read the comics because it is still selling well so there is a market their. I also think Marvel could benefit as well by promoting and making merchandise as well as cartoon series, it gives a different audience. A cartoon series isnt the same as a live action movie and alot of times more can be done. My point is there is still a market for XMen and it shouldnt just be based around movies, because they are so much more than that. I am saddened that there isnt new Xmen games(not movie tie in), cartoon series and massive merchadise for people of all ages to purchase. XMen started with the comics so they cant just wipe it completely away just for movies.

I cannot wait till we start seeing news on this film. When did people think we would start seeing stuff?

We could hear casting news as early as November.

Oh I hope so! I will be a mess when things start appearing

Apocalypse could send Angel from the future if they don't want to mess with the birth dates. Then, since we are in yet another new timeline, Xavier could be killed off. Then Magneto leads the X-Men from then on. I definitely see them using AoA as a major influence, if not more so than Days of Future Past comic, even though this isn't explicitly Age of Apocalypse. I think it is unlikely this will be a "disaster" film. It might be bigger in scope, but X-Men have always been character studies, so I don't see them going with a full bloated CGI fest, and definitely see them using some of the comic arcs that were so successful developing these characters.

Awful idea. And its been brought up here too much. The idea makes no sense. Why not just have the movie take place in the future then?

Then, since we are in yet another new timeline, Xavier could be killed off.
After we just got a new timeline in DOFP?
