The Digital HD copy was released today on iTunes and other digital outlets and on the iTunes version, we get the deleted scenes and the "Kitchen Sequence" featurette (which is really just Singer explaining the scene that was cut out between Hank, Raven, Charles, and Logan in the mansion, after the Paris sequence. It's a good scene but most of the information got placed in other parts of the film.).

Anyway, the deleted scenes feature two interesting moments. First during the future sequence, Logan's getting his the lowdown on how time travel works. It's different than from how it is in the film. At the end of the scene, Logan and Storm have a VERY intimate moment. It's a kiss and the way it's played out, it seems as if they've been together for a long while. What's funny is that Halle Berry did the kiss to Hugh as a joke on set. You see it in the gag reel. What's interesting is that Singer liked the idea so much that he had Halle and Huge play that moment for real. Honestly, I kind of wished they kept it. It was good.

The other interesting deleted scene is actually an alternate ending where the Coast Guards save Logan at the end. As Singer says in the deleted scenes commentary, this was how the film was going to end. Instead of Stryker being Mystique, it really was Stryker who finds him. The officers ask Stryker what he wants to do with him. He tells them he'll take him and he gives Logan the name of "X". In the audio commentary on the scene, Singer explains that he felt this ending just kind of recycled Logan's story from what we've already seen. He wanted to change Logan's backstory for the coming sequel.

Logan as one of the four Horseman? Wouldn't be surprised about it now.

Reading about that I think it's almost defente wolverine will be one of horseman and apocalypse gives him adamanturm loosly based on Wolverine as horseman from the twelve storyline In 1999.

yep sounds like singer is gonna give logan a different backstory now

Think it's a brilliant move from the producers. Unfortunately, it completely eliminates X-2 as a result, but you had to do that anyway after the new future. It sets up a 1980 Apocalypse film perfectly, because the elements are in place for an already talented cast, and they don't have to recycle OT stories. Time travel is always a cop-out, but it's probably some of the best execution we've seen from a time travel film. Singer did his HW.

I´m not really sure how good this will work out.

I´m referring to Wolverine meeting (either as an ally or a foe) the young X-Men. One of the engaging parts of Wolverine joining the X-Men is that nobody knew anything about him. Neither him. Nobody knew he was 100+ years old, and Claremont developed a great interaction between Logan-Scott and Jean.

I don´t think he will end up joining the X-Men at the end of the movie, but I don´t really like the idea of the young X-Men having the notion of who Wolverine is. Specially for future movies. I just´can´t imagine Logan hitting on Jean and she telling him: oh, I remember I met you when I was 14... (such a turn off)

Yeah but that story has been told. You can't keep recycling it like TAS... only when it is time to reboot do you revisit that.

Wait... Are the deleted scenes out?!

No matter how they try to double talk In Interviews DOFP was Indeed a time travel caused "reboot" so now only FC,1973,new future, and post credit parts of DOFP are only ones that now are 'Canon" of series.Deadpool and Apocalypse continue on.

I have no idea how they are doing next wolverine film.It could be set In 2 year gap between end of the wolverine and DOFP set up post credit scene. It could be set after events of Apocalypse. It could be set after new future ending of DOFP.

Prefer to see next solo Wolverine in new timeline, just don't back to old timeline and don't mess in audience heads.

Wait... Are the deleted scenes out?!

The digital copy on iTunes now includes the deleted scenes. Singer also said in the commentary that these scenes won't be included in any other cut of the film, so we won't be seeing these in whatever extended edition they're planning.

I'm assuming the cut Rogue sequence isn't on the digital copy, correct?

So you can have commantary on the itunes deleted scenes? Intresting.

I thought they were holding out on stuff for alternate cut.

Once october 1 gets here and I am able to buy DOFP on Itunes I will be available to know what deleted scenes won't be In alternate cut.

And just remove Yukio, no just no. She's too cool and interesting for that to happen.

You can watch them with or without commentary. I watched them first without it, then again with Singer's commentary.

There are 5 deleted scenes in all: the farewell to Logan, Nixon grabbing his tape recorder before going in the bunker, Logan attacking Hank, Trask getting arrested, and the alternate ending with Stryker.

The kitchen scene is given the most time, apart from the deleted scenes, since Singer explained that Jennifer Lawrence kept cracking up at Singer's messed-up voice due to a vocal chord issue.

Very Intresting. It seems like the alternate cut would mostly add future scenes.Only parts of 1973 section seem to part of film where Mystique came to mansion that you can see snippets of in pics and trailers that from b-roll was susposde to tie in with The rogue sub-plot.As well as Quicksilver's younger sister or half sister at his house.

I'm guessing we won't be hearing the X2 theme music again if the OT cast is gone for good. The Xavier theme is very nice though.

Loved the Ottman scores. They'll be missed, unless he returns

Ottman Is almost certinly scoring Apocalypse with Singer directing.

I am sure there will be some touches so Apocalypse feels like a Singer X-Men film just like DOFP.

IMDB (for what it's worth) lists him as being attached to X:A in the dual role of composer and editor, which (with the exception of the original X-Men) is what he's done for every Bryan Singer movie.

So it looks like he will return. :)

I'm really upset about that Stryker scene :csad: I'd wish they kept original Stryker instead of Stryker-Raven.

^ I was disappointed at first, but very quickly became glad it's going in a new direction. We've already seen the whole Stryker/Weapon X angle on film (how poorly XO:W handled it notwithstanding) and this is a chance for a whole new story (which seems very exciting based on what we know/speculate). No point in re-treading what we've already got.

I'm pretty sure Singer will tell a great story of different Wolverine origin but I'm not sure if the complete exclusion of Weapon X was really that necessary. It appears Stryker has no connection to Wolverine now which I think is not a good idea.
If Stryker at the end was a REAL Stryker, the ending would be... I don't know... a more emotional, knowing what will happen to Logan.
I still hope Wolverine will be tied up with Weapon X somehow. Maybe in the different way and with a different result.
But unfortunately, I don't think that's gonna happen in the new timeline. Damn.

Some good stuff there then!

Sounds to me like Singer's original plan was to have Stryker play out the Weapon X program. Then Apocalypse got announced and the pieces fell into place. Logan the Horseman seems nailed on now, can't wait!

The ending would not have worked unless they made major changes to the Wolverine origin, including the events leading into the OT, which would not have been contradicted a whole lot had Stryker been real Stryker. Otherwise, nothing may have ever been answered until Apocalypse. Now we at least have a sense of where they can go and the ending in DoFP can seem plausible.
