That situation gives me an X-Men: The Last Stand vibe for the sequel

Apocalypse does well, FOX want to rush the next one into production, Bryan doesn't want to give up his next gig, so FOX hires a gun like Ratner to just do the job.

I hope FOX is smarter than that by now, though. And that Bryan oversees the next movie even if he doesn't direct.

that doesn't mean he won't use phoenix but in all fairness he may not want to just do another X3 type movie with those similar beats, if you are gonna do it again then do it differently

with exception of possibilty of showing glimpse of jean's powers i doudt they go much into phoenix In apocalypse.

I really don't know if proteus is enough for a film focus on his own.

very intresting he says proteus and not his version of phoenix/dark phoenix.

In trailer you could see in moira's office pics of her with a boy.

Waiting for Singer would probably mean waiting four years, and I don't think there's much logic in doing that if the franchise is gaining steam. Granted, you don't want to have an X3 debacle either, but Singer could shepherd the project without directing it. Get somebody promising to take the helm; I'm not sure who comes to mind.

Could you really get a feature-length action movie out of Proteus? He's basically a kid (and I expect a cinematic version would adhere more closely to the X-Men: TAS version, where he was an actual character, rather than the comics' basically evil force), he doesn't really have a plan or anything.

Chances are FOX will make sure they keep bryan on as producer even if he doesn't direct, so i can see him still being closely involved as they would be silly to burn bridges with him a second time

its hard to say whether the next film will be 2018 or 2019

Plus the franchise as a whole is just in a completely different spot. They don't have to rush main X-Men films in order to profit with the franchise anymore. Plenty of X films in development to keep good wom and the money coming in.

Agreed.It may be like what DOFP would have been if Vaughn hadn't left.
Singer produces.Kinberg devolps story and writes screenplay,and someone
else like on FC is brought on by Singer as director.

The difference this time is Singer is making 20,000 leagues for Fox so very easy for him to be active producer.

Let's hope if A new director is brought in that person and Singer are around to make sure Kinberg doesn't screw up with the script

I Think David Hayter was one of the reasons wolverine was favoured in the first 2 movies, in an audio interview all he ever mentioned was wolverine

Harris and Dougherty worked with singer and kinberg on the story for apocalypse.inless they come on board to devolp story it will probally be Kinberg
since for some strange reason he is becoming closest thing to creative force behind entire X-Men cinematic universe.

They'd have to move very quickly for summer 2018. Apocalypse was already announced by the time DOFP came out, and that had basically the same creative team.

Though it's possible there's already been movement on this behind the scenes and they'll roll out more info closer to the date.

I think Proteus would be a great villain for the next movie. I loved him in the 90's AS and having a kid as the villain would definitely bring something new to the franchise. It would also mean more Moira which is never a bad thing.

As for directo, as long as Singer still produced and chose the director himself I am confident we wouldn't get another X3 situation.

The most likely reason why kinberg will write the next one is pretty much because he took on the role of keeping this universe under control for fox so he will likely be the first person they go too
