Whether it's true or not, it makes perfect sense for The New Mutants to be set in the late eighties or the early 90's, though a modern setting could work well too.

Only way I could believe that is if it was just a cameo or if she was the senior X-Woman in charge of the New Mutants. But that seems more like something Mystique would do.

wasn't their a quote from Singer or someone saying (about that full team roster in new outfits) that Storm was on the team "for now"

also.. it all depends where new mutants takes place... right after apocalypse? or in modern times.. if modern, storm should be older... if right after... storm shouldn't be guiding and teaching any kids yet... not after being a horseman.

oh and if the New Mutants take place right after apocalypse.. and the cast is roughly the same age as Jean/Cyclops/Kurt it does make me question why they arn't considered "new mutants" as a team either... This movie surely makes them X-men.. but it'd be a bit odd having 2 teams and one basically being like "uh uh, we survived the apocalypse, you don't get to be one of us!" when they're the same age? lol

I imagine storm wouldn't be teacher material yet but that doesn't mean she couldn't be involved, no one ever said there needed to be elder characters teaching them

They already said it was gonna be magic based sort of thing didn't they, no one said it was gonna be just a bunch of new mutants being taught to be X-Men

... but isn't that what the NEW MUTANTS premise IS ??? i mean.. it's kinda who they are... young mutants in training with their powers and abilities who would eventually become X-men...

Storm has ties to majick/Majik and Balasco and with a jump in time likevthe comics they can even cameo Halle's Storm at som point as the sorceress.

god i hope not.. the further Storm is away from sorcery the better.. its so very little touched on in the books there's no reason to feature it in a film. AT ALL...

That's what confuses me about Storm joining them I'm not sure of what her purpose would be there to take her out of the main XMen team. I missed that comment about Storm from the pic

Depends really on the context, it's likely to be more then just mutants being trained

When it comes to storm I imagine they won't have her suddenly mature from the events of apocalypse where she has left it all behind and is a teacher since it could away a lot of the maturing she can do in the movies

Yeah, that's the main reason why I never thought they would have them in the past. The fact that they are young won't really stand out when everyone is around that age.

Oh there's no shops like that here, just gas stations :cmad:

usually the reference is for big cities.. but technically your local gas station and walgreens/pharmacy or grocery store would count. But i wouldn't consider those "new stands" like one would see in a city.

it will obviously be more than just training. they would get wrapped up in some crazy missadventures like they always did.. likely defying Xaviers rules.. and trying to save magik.. i'd imagine.

that being said.. if Magik is anywhere near this film it best be having colossus too.

That's what I figured after you mentioned I'm not a city boy so idk really about those type of things. Sadly no the gas stations don't have them.

The DOFP Empire issue didn't show up in Canada til a month after they came out in the UK, so don't expect these to show up any time soon. I remember, it frustrated the hell out of me too...

Just came back from BvS and Apocalypse trailer in 3D is very nice to watch. I think the 3D effect is better than DoFP. They also shown a short version in 2D which I think is not bad, but 3D definitely is much better for certain scenes (like angel shooting steel feathers from his wings, etc.).

Where do people usually buy Empire magazine? Barnes and Noble?

I got mine at my local petrol station. It has newspapers and magazines inside and there was just one Empire left (the one with Psylocke on the cover).

Yes, I said petrol station. I'm in the UK.:oldrazz:

I bet you put the magazine in the boot of your car. :cec:

:cwink:

What you mean corner shops I'm tired of waiting I need to go pick it up

Corner shop is an expression in the UK for a small local store (usually independently owned) selling newspapers, food and general/essential household goods.

Traditionally, such shops were on street corners, but they aren't always in those locations.

These convenience store are also called 'the 7/11' because of the usual daily opening hours.

You could always use Google, you are on the internet ya know, lol.. check these images out: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=c...ved=0ahUKEwjX7vD8ze7LAhVEtxoKHZ2BA80Q_AUIBigB

Hahahaha i have some cousins in LA so when I was there they had to put stuff in theirs. I'm look open your boot put the bags in there. They looked at me very confused. I'm like you know the boot and pointed to the back. They're like ooooh you mean the trunk. I was like yeah that thing lmao.

I guess a 'boot' makes as much sense as a 'trunk.' hehe

*btw we call them corner shops in Canada too. I bet they do too in the US.

Oh there's lots of language differences. I sometimes sit opposite an American woman at work, she's from Louisville ("loo-a-vul"). She cracks me up when she shouts 'bye' as she leaves the office at the end of the day, it sounds more like 'bah'

I say 'sometimes' sit opposite because many of us now do 'hot desking' which is a pain in the arse :cwink:

Ok you gotta explain hot desking. It sounds NSFW :drl::drl::drl:
