what some are forgetting it's clear from what we know Singer is using In Apocalypse the ideas from last stand with powers of phoenix are evolution
of jean's powers.it seems fighting apocalypse is equilvent to magneto's machine In original trilogy.

I haven't seen any quotes from singer saying if they do Dark phoenix again they would do shiar.I personaly am against idea of sending X-Men into
outer space.you lose something special when you take X-men into outer space.

personaly i find these part 1 and part 2 films to be gimick.having said remember singer before disputes with rothman led him to do Superman
returns was considering doing dark phoenix in 2 part film shot back to back like lord of the rings and matrix sequels.if you also remember proteus was just
before dark phoenix in comics.it exactly wouldn't surprise me if after doing 20,000 leagues under the sea singer were to do 2 part storyline shot back to back with proteus and dark phoenix.first film poentialy could involve proteus and set up more dark phoenix and second film be dark phoenix.

with wolverine film,gambit,deadpool sequel,and the new mutants they have neough spin-offs to fill void while singer does 20,000 leagues under the sea.
there is possibilty Xavier and storm will be in new mutants.

It is overdone when different forms of media keep the same thing with her. How it happens is tweaked but ultimately Jean has been "killed" off and brought back so many times in various outlets. Phoenix is her codename in the books; its not her codename here in the films, so they do not need to go there

The whole cocoon thing is a retcon that happened years later. That wasnt thought up when they were writing or thinking of the ramifications of Jean's actions in the original story.

We'll have to agree to disagree bc IMO there is no point in doing a DPS story without including the most important scene and thats Jean's sacrifice or some variation of her dying.

Evolution never did the Dark Phoenix Saga

No Evolution did a twist on the DPS using Masterming it was just tweaked and it worked well she didn't turn evil or anything. Whether the cocoon was a retcon it still happened so it is canon. If they go DPS then she wouldn't just be Jean, regardless in the comics it is apart of her so I'm sure they'll find some way of introducing it in movies we have seen Pheonix in X3 though. I don't want her to be killed since it's the reintroduction to the new young Jean so I would like them to wait but I do want it to indeed happen.

Evolution didn't do anything with the Phoenix. They had stories about Jean's growing power levels. Yes, she was mind controlled by Mesmero, but it didn't have any connections to anything Phoenix. Closest Evo got was teasing it in the finale.

I know we still don't know if the movie is going to be awesome or not, but as X-men fans we have to support the movie and be optimistic that it will get positive reviews and be enjoyed by people around the world.

So how about we help promote X-men: Apocalypse? When and how?

Well since X-men: Apocalypse will be released on May 27, 2016, we can start promoting by the first day of May. I know that Captain America: Civil War comes on May 6, but if people who will be watching CACW will see X-men stuff/signs then they will also look forward into watching X-en: Apocalypse

How do we promote the movie?

Well aside from telling people about the X-men trailers and telling anyone how excited you are to watch the movie ( you can start the conversation with who are their favorite x-men characters because that will excite them to watch the movie ), you can do the following too:

1. How about go to a "design your own t-shirt / personalize your own t-shirt" with X-men stuff? The good thing with X-men shirts is that you can keep wearing them even after the movie. It can be any X-men prints or if you wanna go for like an X-men Apocalypse poster shirt, then go for it. Nobody's stopping you.

3. You can also have something personalized so you can bring with you to school (well aside from the x-men, shirt, how about an x-men cap or x-men buttons and pins, or anything you can think), office ( like x-men mousepad, x-men mug/tumbler/or an x-men poster and post it to your station/office/room.

3. Color/dye/your hair with the iconic x-men hair. I would recommend Jean's and Storm's hair color. even if Rogue and Wolverine are not i X-men: Apocalypse you can get those hair colors/styles because people know it's an x-men thing.

4. Lastly, X-men cosplay. When I go to the movie theaters side of the mall, I see cosplayers where people gather and take pictures with them. So why not wear, dress as an x-men character when you watch the movie? And if your costume is really awesome, then you may plan to have a schedule of just being outside the theaters so people will be happy to take pictures with you.


I'm really planning to have my hair dye white with a bit a mohawk hairstyle. I hope I can do it. As for a Storm costume, I'm still thinking because it's hard to think of designing a male Storm costume. Maybe I might not be able to make one but I'm really looking forward to dyeing my hair white on the first week of May.

That was not some twist on DPS. Jean never turned into Phoenix in Evolution. As stated all we got was a glimpse in some future vision in the finale. Nothing they did with Jean even came close and they definitely didnt have Mastermind make Jean lose control and become a villian against her friends

of course the cocoon happened but the point was it was a retcon to absolve her of her sins by saying none of the stuff we were reading from the past several years was her, not about resurrecting her. Do people really want them to do this story and then come back and say Sikes! That wasnt really Jean. It cheapens the films IMO. It was a necesary evil back in the 80s when they didnt have the foresight of bringing her back when the original DPS was written and they had her do those horrific things

I did see a cam phone video of 20th Century Fox CinemaCon Vanilla Ice's Ice Age performance, so I know there were people recording things with their cameras. Baffles me why they decided to record that corny performance. Makes me wonder if there's a video of the new Apocalypse CinemaCon trailer somewhere on someone's phone.

Makes sense for her to say that. She's still gonna have a bit of that Magneto in her and she knows that there is always war coming. And it fits in with Xavier being too comfortable sometimes and thinking that mutants will live peacefully. Can't wait!

Indeed. Maybe we will get Phoenix next time then, because we will need the "reunion" film after Phoenix makes everything dark. I would have thought there would be a film or two of this young team just getting along, but I guess not.

If they payed attention they would know they are giving magneto wife and daughter in apocalypse that he had in comics.

on other hand the article kind of confirms the worst fears on "raven"/Mystique.
Let's hope Lawrence doesn't resign for more films because otherwise she will

I don't think Faraci watched the second trailer, at least that is the sense that I get.

Yeah I was wrong about Evolution. I understand where your coming from you just want some films with Jean being Jean I totally respect that. I do want the same thing I'm just glad she won't be a weakling in this new timeline. I also do want them to do the DPS down the line though it was a great story and I'm really just wanting to see the Shiar introduced in some way down the line. I would love a seasoned team of XMen going up against the Imperial Guard that would be so awesome. I wonder what the next movie will revolve around.

I think some people are going to be surprised at how much Jean and Scott get to do in the movie, because I think they are going to get a lot of time.

Plot speculation based on trailers and articles:

Its pretty obvious that Scott, Jean, Nightcrawler, and not sure if any others, are going to have to rescue Mystique, Quicksilver, and Beast after Stryker grabs them after Apocalypse blows up the mansion.

So they essentially have a mission that they do on their own.

And we're going to get time with the young crew at the mall, because that is where they are going to be while Apocalypse destroys the mansion.

I'm thinking that Jean and Scott will have roles on par with what Mystique and Hank had in First Class, except more involved in the fighting at the end because Mystique couldn't do much in the final fight in First Class.
