xmen: onslaught

Considering the focus of this franchise as of now, this would make sense. It would have made sense to close the trilogy actually. I'd be interested to see an Onslaught reinterpretation. It would be radically different, just sharing the concept with the comics. One of the appeals of that storyline was seeing the demons in Xavier's closet. First Class and DOFP already showed us his darker, imperfect history. I wonder if that makes doing the Onslaught story more worthwhile or unnecessary?

The Phoenix Sage could easily be the theme for the next trilogy if Fox do it right.

I until this day remember how awesome it was that x-men cartoon of Phoenix Saga.

The first movie could set for the Phoenix
Second Movie Dark Phoenix
Third movie end of the Dark Phoenix

Of course it should include many sub plots and the Shi'ar empire.

I think do it in two. Or rather resolve it in two, so the third movie can be coming together.

First movie, X-Men go to space Shi'Ar, that crystal's name I can never remember, some fun cosmic adventure where Jean does go Phoenix (no tease like X2, but this is an actual development in the plot).

Second movie is the Dark Phoenix Saga mostly like it is in the comics, complete with fighting on the Moon, Shi'Ar, etc. Maybe not have Jean kill a planet that is inhabited with billions (TAS made the same change, as it would make Jean irredeemable, and presumably they wouldn't want to end this exactly like TLS).

Third movie is back on earth where the band is getting back together as it were against a new threat (Sinister or Genosha, perhaps?). That way after how dark things got in the last one, the satisfaction is in seeing the team be working together all on the same side again.

Just how I would do it.

Having a multi-movie phoenix arc would be a dream come true.

I would rather wait another movie or 2 to do Phoenix. I would let Sophie Turner gain more experience. I think she's good, but she would really have to be GREAT to sell Phoenix/DP.

As for wishes, I just want to see Selene.

They should definitely put some time before doing Dark Phoenix Saga. Don't BvS it. Build it up so people are more invested and the story hits for max impact.

Hopefully not. I still really want to see Gambit.

Phoenix would be my top priority if I was developing the next movie.

But now I'm really thinking about Onslaught. The moment of Onslaught's creation could be the reverse, distorted version of Xavier and Eric's psychic moment in First Class. Magneto even cruelly wove metal in Wolverine's body in DOFP, echoing to the comics where Magneto ripped the adamantium out of his body. The story would have plenty of opportunities for psychic battles.

Onslaught could be kind of cool. But if Bryan was serious about it I feel like Proteus would be the next movie.

From Robert Meyer, a friend of Bryan. Maybe he was joking, but based on the new costumes photo and that scene from the trailer which she slowly turns into Mystique, I think she'll stay in her true form at the end of the movie (and trilogy) from now on

Apocalypse thinks Mystique has a problem with her blue heritage. She won't have this problem for long.

Giving Jen a costume to wear instead of a blue bodysuit is probably a big reason why. Minimizes the makeup she has to wear, makes her work on the films easier etc. Thinking about it, it's a great two birds with one stone thing. Accommodate your star and please fans with comic book costumes.

Hopefully the new trailer will be up after the Cinemacon presentation.

Yeah exactly they'd really only have to do the face and hair and that's a usual part of movies anyway. Makeup and hair.

So I'm assuming she's pretty much Raven in all her scenes except for when they go to battle.

Given from what we've heard of Civil War, I think that train is unstoppable. I do hope this trailer will get some more positive vibes and awareness going for the films though and give it good legs through its theatrical run.

Proteus would be a mistake for a movie imo. I think it suits better in a TV show like Legion.

At this point probably not, Its best not to read much into M&M marketing.

And just think for DOFP they had an empire cover for Toad and he wasn't on screen much at all, sometimes marketing misleads to sell.
