I think this movie should have been a two parter if they wanted to use Apocalypse a bit of the scenes felt rushed or like they could've been extended. I think they would have helped with the pacing of the film of this size and to ensure every character gets it due time and added to the story. It could've ended with Apocalypse gathering the final Horseman and just really delved into the Horsemen and gave us more time with the new team and Jubilee.

Yes I agree. Dark Phoenix saga needs to be a 2 parter as well..

No doubt about that, that's a must stories of that magnitude they can't squeeze into one film which is what we got here. If it was longer into two parts I really think the movie would've been received well it was just to much to tell and not enough in one movie.

Can someone who has seen the movie, please tell me...
Who's who with The Four Horsemen? I know Archangel is Death, at least in the comics but, who are the others?

My audience actually clapped after it was over and seemed to really enjoyed.

They didn't say, or if they did I must have missed it.

Archangel-Death
Magneto-War
Storm-Famine
Psylocke-Pestilence
Though there not named this in the film I don't even think once they become XMen there even talked to except one of them.

Yes that would have helped.

Psylocke really does not make me think of pestilence lol.

Wikipedia once said that Tim Howard was the United States Secretary of Defense during the World Cup. Wikipedia can be edited by anyone. Don't take it to heart. Just read the positive reviews (or don't read any of them, good lord).

The movie was plenty enjoyable. Many people are quite positive about the film here saying there's more that works than what doesn't. Chill. If you enjoyed it, then that's all that matters. Critics don't have an agenda though, get that thought out of your head. We don't need any of that BvS nonsense in here.

All I have to say to you:

So should I go to PornHub to find my X-Men reviews?

Agreed.

Mine too. Was a nice surprise. Vancouverites rarely clap after a movie. Can't remember the last time actually.

That's a shame. I was hoping to see him Christen them as War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death.

There's 4 posters floating around of who's who, released by the production. Check the film's instagram account, I think it might be there.

I believe it was Kinberg that said they're not going by their Horsemen titles. Only the ones in the opening are known by their titles. Psylocke was an after thought in casting so I'm not surprised he didn't put a lot of thought in the titles for each character or even attempted to make it work.

Her power is the only one that makes no sense for the role she was chosen to play.

nah I think the length was fine. It was almost 2 and a half hours. They didnt make good use of all the time they had though as some parts dragged on and didnt need to be there. The entire Weapon X part could have been cut out and that time used to flesh out the characters

There should be a horseman named Bob. just........Bob.

Just got back an really enjoyed the film.

My only issues:

The Quicksilver scene, I actually really enjoyed it, my gripe goes down to the music played. While I love the song, I think it breaks the scene.

Weapon X: It just went on way too long...

But again, I loved it.

Does anyone wanna compile scenes that we know of that weren't in the theatrical cut? Scenes from clips, commercials etc.

I know I can think of a few.

Ms.Maximoff saying, "You're gonna join them aren't you?" as opposed to "You're gonna find him aren't you?"

Psylocke vs Hank fight

Mall scenes

Also, in the older trailers, Angel wasn't with them when recruiting Magneto.

So yeah, Apocalypse was long, boring and for the most part pointless. That said, I think parts of it, namely the introduction of the new kids, make for a good first issue of a series. Everything else was unnecessary, and did almost nothing in advancing anyone's character arcs. The "horsemen" save (Magneto) and Apocalypse were the definition of one-note. Made worse that they were the most marketed characters.

Interesting...

I could kind of see where you're coming from, though, I don't agree.

I'd like to know your thoughts on the X-Men vs Apoc scene though.

you know what was missing?

Apocalypse didn't shout Woo!! when he went around recruiting his four horsemen.

:o

(brownie points to anyone who gets the reference)

Hurray! :)

It was a good movie but I'm so tired of Alkali Lake, Wolverine, and Magneto and Charles differences in opinion. Can we focus more on the kids and not them?

"No." - Simon Kinberg
