Isn't that the guy who said X-Men Apocalypse was good and that Singer would surprise the naysayers again?

Yeah he's good friends with Singer. I think he worked on DVD features on x2 I think.

Most interesting thing I remember him saying is that Fan4stic was better received that a X-Men/FF Movie would've came out

That would have been cool though of course you need to come up with a good first in order to make a cross over film. What a fail.

The Skrulls possibly appearing in DP just proves that they can do a cross over with the Fantastic and the Uncanny. Maybe in the MCU, we would see both teams finally interact with each other. despite mediocre films from Fox, They are still my top two Marvel properties

Everyone pretty much knows that the Skrulls will be in DPh (despite never being confirmed by Fox).

The 4chan rumor says Jessica Chastain is a Skrull Queen version of Lilandra and the Skrulls have already taken over the government and are going to use Phoenix to wipe out the human race.

That's Chris M's source... 4Chan!

Heard from someone who saw a screening said not to believe the 4Chan rumors

This time it is making it clear that it is not his opinion, it is rather that he has heard from some people, it may be true or false.
anyway, we will only know when you have a trailer at least, until there, everything and rumor, people wanting attention or access on their sites.

I hope that next week, we have something official
It's time for a first poster or some pictures in magazines, with only 7 months left, it's time for fox to start creating more hype.

Hmm, with Infinity War so close, I doubt anyone really cares. They should wait until Deadpool 2 is closer.

but it has an audience for everyone
the fox can not wait for something to start working
she will have to create hype, deadpool will be released on May 17, not so far from April 26, so if the first trailer for dark phoenix came before or near deadpool does not have much difference, both will face an IW still in high anyway.

I care, and I also think it'd be foolish for them not to put the trailer in front of one of, if not the biggest movie of the year.

the only possibility of dark phoenix not to fight for attention with IW
would be to launch the trailer in late May or early June, but I do not think fox will do that as it would be risky that all delay.
in my opinion, "competition" at times and the best marketing

I don't see a trailer as any form of competition. It's just a way of getting the word out about a particular film. I mean they put the teaser for "Apocalypse" in front of Star Wars The Force Awakens because they knew it's a film that would draw large crowds.

Yeah.. I’m conflicted. I want the trailer be out in time for IW(which is likely it’s best chance to get that bigger exposure) but then risk the problem of it being glossed over/overshadowed. Most likely scenario I see is that they debut it first week of May to be attached to DP, also a week after the Fox presentation.

I hope they have balls to release before hand lol. Can always fall back on a second trailer for hype. They need to generate some sort of conversation at this rate..

Also trailers at marvel are dropping closer and closer to their release dates (5-6 months) that there’s only room for a teaser and one offical. This a good template for Fox to follow? Should there be 3 trailers for dph???

the big difference between MCU and Fox is that Marvel already has a huuuuuuuuuuuuge audience, so they dont need that much push, everyone will watch A:IW, but Fox doesnt have that big following, so their effort has to be twice as hard, and even then, they wont attract all that Marvel audience. The problem in the end is that Fox has lost viewers (for different reasons) so bringing those back is the hardest job.

If Fox and producers realized whats the real reason of that, they could start fixing it. But sadly, I honestly think and Im sure they dont know the reasons.

The reviews are more important than the trailer imo. Alot of ppl just don't care for anything not Deadpool or Wolverine. But the reviews will tell the masses how to think

Very true !!

Even the marketing for DP 2 isn’t as strong as the first. Apoc marketing was a non event, and when they began it was too late. Also we’ve seen trailers from two big November films (nutcracker and fanst beasts) just anxious to get the ball rolling. Anyway I’m one of the very few optimists for this to work out, which is depressing ???? ha!

I don’t see what’s wrong with having an XMen trailer attached to IW, that movie is going to be crazy big and that could do nothing but help if the trailer is good since it is a similar audience. People are already there to see IW this way more eyes can see DP if they choose to.

The general audience still do not know the difference between Marvel Studios product and a Marvel product.

Reviews are important if the person is not sure if he/she wants to see the film. Reviews definitely didn't play a factor with Bvs and Suicide Squad at the box office, well at least during their first weekend. Clearly the hype for Dark PhoeniX is so low. x1 to 4 and even Apocalypse/First Class had more buzz seven months before its release. They need an eXceptional trailer to convince everyone to watch the film in a theater. The promos have to be eXceptional as well.

Who's to say it couldn't have been even better of an OW if they had better reviews? We have nothing to gauge that because we don't live in an alternate reality where those films where critical darlings. Who knows maybe they could have added another 50-100 million to the opening or something.

I agree. At this point they need a really good trailer. But I also think that it won't make a difference whether they release it before or after Infinity War (I would wait another week or 2 for the Infinity War trailer hype to die down though.) I think releasing the first trailer with Deadpool is too late.
