I want to see a shot like this with Tye Sheridan, but attacking and destroying a ship or something. A really long blast, with his target at 200 meters or so

Never was crazy about those Quitely costumes, but theyre accurate.

An article on dailymail.co.uk (a tabloid site, I know) also mentions (as an aside) that Olivia was in Dark Phoenix.

If Cyclops doesn't do that ridiculous thing where he bounces optic beams off several surfaces to hit his target, or use his optic beams to slow a fall, we riot.

The filmmakers don't study the comics so they don't know about all that stuff.

Why do you think Storm only creates lightning and Magneto's power is stated as 'controlling metal' (when it's far more than that).

It's one of the inherent problems with this series. The filmmakers aren't immersed in the original comics world from which the characters came. There is SO MUCH material and inspiration in those comics.

Well they have the best stunt coordinator they've probably ever used so maybe we'll see some good action sequences.

That would be cool. :D

Not bothered by the costumes, am bothered by Storms hair...

I'm not convinced by Storm's hair either, there's so much dark roots going on.

She also looks flat chested, that X-suit doesn't do Alexandra's body any favours in that brief shot we saw.

It's clear that image was released to say 'hey, look naysayers, this IS an X-Men movie, we're looking at the whole team', especially as it had Raven Everdeen stood right to the side without her costume fully on. Nice try!

Gonna need more than a costume pic to convince that Storm, Nightcrawler and Beast get proper roles.

By now, Nightcrawler should be a lovable swashbuckling 'fuzzy elf' like in the books, bringing a smile to your face. Beast should be equally lovable, the monster with a brain and a heart.

"movie doesnt have time for that"
:sly:

Of all the people to keep from DOFP, Apocalypse, Kinberg keeps Felix. Lol

I guess he's cheap and nice, and canadian. So why change him? lol

Lol Trust me things in Vancouver are not cheap. We’re paying the highest gas prices in North America. And our real estate rivals Hong Kong, Sydney, New York, San Fran.

I would say that’s probably why Singer opted to film elsewhere but that can’t be the case when there’s just as much productions here than before.

why is it that hard to give Quicksilver his distinctive punky hair?
its been 20 years since Dofp and he almost has the same look. Talk about unrealistic. Most people change looks in their lifetime (aside from again of course). But I guess they cant do better than "that"

He looks better than the other Quicksilver. That being said this frachise and hair styling have always been frustrating. Wtf is Storm doing with that hair is the more important question imo?

Im sure that is not their x-men suits, storm is not even wearing a cape...

And about hair!

Ok.. yes true...Storm and Quicksilver...awful! I never liked Quicks hair in any movie...bad wig! Why not give him short hair? change him for gods sake...

The same with Storm..i got it from Apocalypse..It was a nice touch from the comics.. but common..wheres is Storm? They never got that right! A mix between the lenght of X-men, the volume of X-men 2 and bingo! And theres is no 90's excuse..girls used to have a voluptuous hair in the first years..

Afetr so many movies theres is no excuse for nothing at all!

IMO he doesn't. Most people on the interwebs only retroactively hated AOU's Pietro because he was a bad character all around. And most people on the interwebs only retroactively love DOFP's Peter because he's a fun character and *that* scene. It's not so much that he looks better, it's that they can see past *that* hair and *that* jacket now.

And even if he did look better, the bar shouldn't be "Oh he looks better than that other bad-wigged guy."

well I preffered the MS Quicksilver look, at least it looked real to me.
Fox's wig on other hand.....

I like how we’ve gone from “Anything but black leather” to “No! not giant yellow X’s on their blue jumpsuits! That’s boring!”

They are boring. Its basically the same costume design for 7 characters. Plus, as if people were asking for matching X Factor costumes.

I think he was actually making a dig at people who complain here, but really, asking the stunt coordinators to get creative with Cyclops' powers after five movies he's featured in is HARDLY an exaggeration.

‘X-Men’ Star Tye Sheridan Teases ‘Dark Phoenix': ‘More of a Drama Vs a Superhero Film’

Tye Sheridan, who stars as Scott Summers a.k.a. Cyclops in the the upcoming “X-Men: Dark Phoenix,” teased that the new movie is “more of a drama versus a superhero film.”

“Jean goes crazy in the movie,” Sheridan told TheWrap at SXSW about the new chapter in the Fox-based Marvel franchise that centers on Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey, a.k.a. Phoenix.

“Well, Cyclops doesn’t think she’s going crazy — Cyclops just thinks she’s gotta work some stuff out,” he said. “It’s interesting, the drama in the movie. We treated this movie as much more of a drama versus a superhero film.”

Fine by me. I prefer development over endless stupid fights. :(

Well, whatever he was making a dig at, I was using the comment to make a dig at the filmmakers.

My point is that while we've seen some creative stuff in these films, they haven't dug deep into who some of these characters are and what they can do.

I suppose it's partly because they have to be cinematic and uncomplicated for mainstream audiences. But there's more they can do.
