Personally, I wish if Jean Grey was going to be made part of the X-Men movies they retcon the whole phoenix/dark phoenix storylines out because quite frankly, as the Phoenix she's a god and totally unstoppable, so what's the point?

I just don't know why Jean killing someone would be a twist when she did the same thing twice in The Last Stand...

Did they day that about the twist? I thought they were talking about the tone of the movie. Plus, they also said Apocalypse would be a very eloquent leader and the movie would be the most emotional of the franchise. So...

Well the Deadpool trailer tomorrow was a pleasant surprise. Now I'm not so sure releasing the Dark Phoenix trailer next week with Ready Player One will work. Then again, it could be good for Fox to release back to back trailers.

The difference is Robert Meyer Burnett isn't the only one claiming to hear good things about Dark Phoenix since there are others who know people that saw the test screening.

at this point its the only one that makes sense. Kinberg must have written or heavily involved in the end credit scene of Apocalypse. I dont see why you would hint at Nathaniel Essex and not use him in either Logan or Dark Phoneix. The fact this takes 10 years later also hints to me that its enough time for Essex to become Sinister. Then try to capture Jean because hes fascinated how she managed to defeat Apocalypse and since hes obsessed with genetic lineages, try to create a baby in Cable with Scott summers. And now Cable is established in the X verse, that angle makes more sense. I dont see why fox would hide her identity if she was emma frost or cassandra nova or Lilandra. Mister Sinister would be my best bet

So the strong female character that Chastain is super excited about (because, hey, it passes the bechdel test) turns out to be a man?

I expect very bad decisions from this creative team and I don't expect anything from the excitement Chastain has show... but I certainly don't expect this. I don't think she's playing Sinister at all.

she will probably be a mix of Lilandra/Veranque/whatever, u know, like X3 Callisto, that was like a mix of Callisto/Quicksilver, in a typical Kinberg fashion
