This is hilarious.

During Deadpool 1 so many here were trying to keep Deadpool as far away from the X-Men films as possible even arguing it's a completely different universe.

Now there is like grasping trying to prove the obvious...a well known X-Force member who is best buds in the comics with the son of Cyclops is a part of the X-Men universe in general.

All Endless was saying is that it's not an X-Men film. It's a Deadpool film, and the X-Men movies which have nothing to do with Wade except for Origins never had any hand in its success with audiences. Which is 100% true outside of Reynolds being cast in Origins. It grabs a different audience outside of the normal comic fanbase and X-Men film fanbase.

Its clinging to the only good "X-Men" film (that hasn't been released) that we are gonna from Fox. So yes its a X-Men film. :o Fox got the X-Men so right in Deadpool X-Men films. :o

There's a rumor that Dazzler is just a party DJ and that's her only role in the movie. I mean, how groundbreaking this franchise is.

Meanwhile, you have Negasonic, then made up characters like Peter, Dopinder and Shioli in more eXciting roles.

Don't you go after our man Peter! He's Deadpool's special guy. His special sauce that makes the X-Force special. :sly:

I mean I don't spend a ton of time here for sanity reasons... but I really don't recall anyone saying Deadpool wasn't in the X-universe because they didn't want it polluting the X-films. I mean, I recall a few voices (ahem, like right now) that want to pretend Deadpool isn't connected, because they are loathe to see the X-franchise have a hit.

But I really don't recall a single post of someone going "Keep your Deadpool chocolate out of our X-Men peanut butter."

some users dont understand my point I see.

- a spinoff being set in the x-men world doesnt make it a "Xmen movie".
- a x-men movie is a movie tittled x-men with the x-men as the lead characters.
- Logan is not a x-men movie, is a spinoff with one X-Man and charles. Its set in the x-men world, but its still a Wolverine movie, not a x-men movie. Common sense.

just like Captain America Winter soldier is not an Avengers movie. It has Widow and Fury, but the tittle, lead and overall movie is a captain america movie.

so Captain America 1 and 2 are Cap movies
Thor trilogy are thor movies
Wolverine trilogy are wolverine movies
Deadpool are Deadpool movies.

they all can have cameos or one xmen/avenger as a supporting, but the lead is the lead.

its not that hard to understand.

Nobody is arguing that Deadpool is strictly an X-Men Film, stop strawmanning away from the fact that you tried to argue that Deadpool wasn't an X-Men character stat. When people say his movie is an X-Men film, they colloquially refer to it being an X-Men Universe film, not literally being an X-Men Film. And hell, since you used the MCU in your arguments, Kevin Feige also literally referred to Deadpool as an X-Men film.

Oh there were a ton in the XMA threads, which is why X-Maniac brought up the same point pages back now that there is a change of opinion. Plenty was probably Robbins. But they were things like Deadpool is ruining the X-Men, Deadpool is only popular cause it's like Marvel, "Deadpool is not X-Men", only MCU fans like Deadpool, ripping apart Colossus cause Cudmore isn't playing him, arguing against how Deadpool and X-Men can't crossover etc

Then there are threads in the Deadpool forums made with the subject as well. One in the Deadpool 2 forums cause they didn't like the casting of Domino. So naturally this should take place in a separate universe and a "skilled Director like Brian Singer" should recast because Zazie is now playing Domino in Deadpool :whatever:

Its because Fox's vision of the X-Men don't really appeal to people the way other big franchises do which is fine, only if they are treating characters like Psylocke, Rogue, Storm, Angel well. There's something wrong if a spin off is earning more money. Especially when that spin off had the lowest budget within the first ten FoX-Men movies... Heck even the Fantastic Four/Daredevil cost more!

What does he being in the same world actually achieve?

Its not about achieving anything.

But then there is also nothing wrong with allowing Deadpool to have connections to the X-Men series and allowing fun little bits like him driving around the X-Mansion on Xaviers Wheelchair.

Very angry with the Deadpool cameos.Only serves to promote the Kinberg movie.

Wasting once again the wonderful original cast.

Deadpool interacting with other comic book characters is part of the fun of the comics, video games and the films. Not sure why people would be angry at that. It leads to entertainment which is why these films are made.

As far as the OT, if Reynolds could get Jackman as Wolverine you know he would. He's done and likely so is everyone else when he left.

I'll take your word for it, and I'm sure the usual closet racists are complaining about Domino being black, but luckily I've been spared any of this. :)

In any case Deadpool is part of the X-universe, although he could spin off if he wanted to as he doesn't play by rules... although again, I'm not sure Reynolds would like that as Disney would demand a lot more rules, ironically enough.

Angry? Seems a bit extreme.

The original cast got their sendoff in Days of Future Past and Logan, respectively. Let them go.

And let the younger version underperform at the box office and headline critical failures. We could have gotten X5/6 but if those were bad then that'd be more disappointing kinda like X3 compare to Apocalypse. We got 3 good films out of 4 with them. At least they're not going out with a whimper and Disney pulling the plug.

Anyway, for those who liked the original cast, just pretend Dofp is the final film in this series. Count Logan, if you want more closure with the original Xavier and Logan (but it really ***** on the promising dofp ending so just ignore that as well). Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix are just eXtraneous at this point, they won't lead to anything but serve as an eXtra back story that don't benefit the established continuity and the characters that they featured. Like what's the point of watching Apocalypse/Dark Phoenix when we won't even see present day adventures of Cyclops, Storm, Nightcrawler and Storm in a post dofp setting? While it's better off to view Deadpool movies in a separate continuity that just reference different franchises.

Deadpool's Colossus isn't in Dark Phoenix. I think they're safer not including any familiar faces from other X-films, but I wouldn't mind a cameo maybe by Paquin's Rogue in there. And, of course X-23 would be fun to watch interacting with Deadpool.

I would have freaked out if Halle or Famke or James Marsden had a cameo in Deadpool 1 after Deadpool said Fox couldn't afford their salary (and we know they could). Well didn't people freak out when Famke and James Marsden cameod in Dofp, even Anna Paquin got reactions.

It could have been an easy step for a X-Men and Deadpool cross over but obviously FoX has this awesome plan to burry the X-Men in the past.

I don't think people would care nearly as much as you think they would. The tone of young adult X-Men vs. Older more grizzled ones the younger versions make more sense with the Deadpool schtick. Sure it would have been nice but it's just as nice with this version.

A post arguing about how the DoFP sequel should have been the original cast, and how therefore all the movies that came after (including Logan and the Deadpools) don't count. From you? Pshaw.

I predicted this post four pages back.
