I wouldn't overrate Kinberg at all, but then i wouldn't underrate him either.

Deadpool is 100% X-Men, and Fox. But then again, whenever one of these films succeeds you people start with the excuses.

I do not know where you find the courage, to be always debating with the same 3 people who always criticize everything desperately.

I've been only at it for a few days, usually I don't engage :oldrazz: Must be the lack of news.

AHA, it's Kinberg's fault!!

even if you have news about the film, this is quickly muffled by the strange hunger of some in trying to attack or diminish everything that has simon x-men involved while staying in fox , it's very strange some things around here.

and Deadpool is not X-Men. but hey, lets act like it is lol

I would feel embarrased if a spinoff like deadpool is much more successful than most x-men movies.

Do you feel embarassed also for Black Panther much more successful than Civil War and 3 Avengers?

it is a rhetorical question 'cause i know that, as always, you Feige fanboy will contrive something that is smart (for only you).

as the anti-vaccine. like a religion.

the answer will be more or less like this

"It does not matter, do you want to compare? All these have box office bigger than the x-men movies"

And i rememebr many of you criticize x-men saga for the little amount of characters' time screen.

https://www.imdb.com/list/ls066620113/

Tony has more time on Homecoming than Cap in Infinity War.

Good.

and a part of X3, Cyclops had more screen than IW's Cap.

They don't get any development in the whole series. That's the issue.

If all Cap had in the entire Avengers and Marvel series was his role in Infinity War that would be bs. But he has 3 solos and 2 other films. The whole reason IW works is because we have 10 years of development with all those characters between two films, one of which Cap will be more present. We don't need the development set up as the audience already knows how important characters like him, Nat and T'Challa are. It's the only way a film like that can work in truly balancing an ensemble of that size.

Meanwhile most X-Men are lucky to say two lines of dialogue in the whole series or play a part beyond VFX.

the lack of an exclusive section for comic books movies, may have hindered the development.
if you had an exclusive sector, such as animated films (20th Century Fox Animation), and indie movies(Fox Searchlight Pictures)or the extinct (fox atomic) who looked after comedy movies ,could have helped by giving more freedom to the franchise
I think this would help a lot, it would be easier to develop, more organized.

It's fact, not an excuse. Deadpool is in a franchise separate from X-Men proper. His relationship to writer/director/producer Simon Kinberg's X-Men series is similar to that between the cinematic MCU and the Marvel Netflix shows. They are technically within the same continuity. But not really.

You can't say that, not given Deadpool 2.

Are you referring to the rumored [BLACKOUT]First Class X-Men [/BLACKOUT] cameo. It's nice fan service, but it doesn't make Deadpool part of the X-Men franchise any more than Maria Hill and Nick Fury showing up on AOS made that show part of the Avengers franchise. Different writers, tone, costumes, Colossus, etc. It's one of the reasons folks think Reynold's Wade may make the move to the MCU when (if) the deal closes.

Thats a weird way of looking at it.

Its clear Deadpool is meant to be part of the X-Men franchise, same Mansion and Mansion set, same Jet, cameos, colossus costume is even inspired by his X3 outfit even if he is another mark 2 version of a character that this franchise likes to do anyway.

Agents of shield is part of the MCU.

So is she definitely dead? I was hoping we would see Emma Frost in Dark Phoenix.

What a shame

Not to mention Donner and Kinberg produce the Deadpool films. It's the same franchise, period.

I consider Deadpool in the same FoX-verse unless they officially say otherwise. True, due to the nature of his character/films, he is easy to port to anywhere else like if after the probable acquisition they want him in the MCU or something, but that said unless stated by Fox I see no reason to think otherwise.

Wow, I guess that’s a deleted clip form DoFP? Maybe they took it out as although Magneto mentioned her as dead with several others, due to her powers it would not be a stretch she survived and allowed her captors to “be convinced” they did kill her and she has laid low ever since. I know I was kinda hoping after DoFP that was the case and that she had Banshee with her.

preach. you nail it each day you post a comment.
but of course some users will ignore all you said, because they dont have arguments to deffend that.

complaining about Cap screentime in IW when he had a whole trilogy, while Cyclops got his first decent role in 2016, 16 years after the beggining of this franchise. What a comparision, lol.

I am amused that the Fox-defenders on this forum are now grabbing on to the success of Deadpool and the positive buzz towards its imminent sequel.

Previously, those same people hated Deadpool - criticising the OTT comedy, the perma-steel Colossus with his somewhat 'dumb brute' persona, and distancing it from the main X-Men films.

Now, suddenly, it's wholeheartedly a part of the X-Men franchise, because it represents the biggest success and the best audience response. The studio is doing the same by inserting these rumoured cameos into Deadpool 2.

'See, look how good we are at making X-Men CBMs' is the cry right now as they point at Deadpool.

Reaction to Deadpool 2 remains to be seen but it's looking pretty good. Even with a Domino being nothing like comicbook Domino and the cramming in of loads of characters for the hell of it (both of those typical Fox blunders with CBMs).

Deadpool works largely because it understands what Deadpool is, and is immersed in the source material.

Can we say the same for Dark Phoenix which has no Hellfire Club, no Shi'ar, hardly any outer space and Chastain as some weird-looking blonde who might be Lilandra leading Skrulls or some other nonsense.

well we gotta wait for first trailer at least.
at this point, we just talk same thing over and over

Well there was any sign that they would bring her back in Dark PhoeniX? It was clearly implied that she was killed sometime before Dofp's events.

What are you on about? I have no idea what "Fox defenders" are, but are you honestly saying you are keeping tabs on what people say about these films? Deadpool was two years ago.

Not to mention, I don't think anyone here has alluded to Deadpool 2's imminent success meaning anything for Dark Phoenix, beyond francise recognition.

Deadpool has nothing to do with the X films. The cameos are tongue in cheek and not meant to be taken seriously... otherwise the timelines/continuity is even more ****ed up than it already is.

And Fox don't deserve any credit for the first Deadpool. Deadpool was a success in spite of Fox, who tried to sabotage it at every turn. Including chopping almost 20 million off it's budget at the last minute.
