Yeah, best Archangel story is Dark Angel Saga. The last scene with Betsy and Angel would be worth the price of admission alone. Some depressing stuff. I would kill for an UXF team, and that storyline.

Getting Logan leading an UXF flick and Cyclops leading the new team, would be pretty awesome.

I'm not so sure about that, particularly with regards to the person I quoted.

Young Erik and Fassbender Erik. It was difficult for me to believe, that *that* kid would grow up to be Fassbender. Yet here we are.

Many movies in the past have cast different looking actors for younger/older counterparts. It's only really ever brought up if the acting is not up to snuff. If the acting is good, why the hell not. Again still not talking about Mr. Leprechaun.

Because it may not be necessary. We're not talking about the forgivable difference between child actors and adult actors. We're talking about two guys who were already in their early twenties when they shot First Class and are three years older now. Essentially, that makes the 11 year difference an 8 year difference, and that isn't much--not to the extent Jones and Till's faces and body types would transform into some of the replacement actors suggested in this thread. Could they be replaced? Sure. But I think the switch may be more jarring and less believable than the likes of childhood Erik transforming into adulthood Erik, especially when no one else in the cast is being replaced on account of the time difference. Who knows? Maybe that's one of the reasons they're seemingly being left out.

lol... we're not ignoring you. I think Eleanor is fine, either for a young Jean Grey, Polaris or Scarlet Witch. All three characters have a similar look. Eleanor's current hair colour suggests Jean Grey, of course, but she could easily be another hair colour for a film.

I easily see her either as a young Jean, Rachel or Polaris. Id preffer to keep Jean and Scott out of this sequel, to get introduced on the next one, so Id go with Polaris, definetly. but wouldnt be mad with Rachel, lol. I doubt Singer uses her, now that we have Xavier, but would be a really cool adaptation of the comic, having Kitty and Rachel on the future. Sadly unlikely

Marvel Studios could use Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in an Avengers film, but would be unable to mention the word 'mutant' or that they are the kids of Magneto. Fox can also use those two characters but can't mention the Avengers. That's the only case mentioned where both have rights.

The reason Fox and marvel share quicksilver and scarlett witch rights are due to them being mutants and Magneto's children.Marvel can use them as long as them being mutants and magneto's children Isn't mentioned.Fox If they put them In film couldn't mentionen them being avengers.

Do either of you have a link to an interview where it says that they can't be called mutants? I'd like to read it. Iv'e just seen the interview with Feige where he said Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and Skrulls are all shared. But didnt seem like there were rules or anything. Anytime I look up info on that subject I can just find that one interview.

I'm not sure how you can copyright the term 'Mutant', its a general descriptive word in the end. Even that 'Mutant X' show was allowed to go ahead and they freely used the term (the lawsuit mandated they had to make some changes to distance it more from X-Men, which is was obviously copying, but it still went ahead).

Maybe Fox's deal has it stipulated they have exclusive rights to the term with usage to Marvel Characters (that may well have been a result of the settlement over Mutant X?).

I can't see how Fox can just own the term 'Mutant' without that though.

Yeah, Iv'e never heard about that before. I don't see why Fox wouldn't want them to name drop as much as possible, anything connected to Avengers=Cash and interest.

Avengers almost made that Oscorp reference so I think deals could be made if that was the case.

No one has said anything about 'coprighting' the term mutant. But it must be part of the agreement, either on a formal level or informally, that there is a distance between what the two studios are doing.

We might love the idea of franchises from different studios connecting together, such as Scarlet Witch being in the Avengers and also referred to as Magneto's daughter and having a pic of McKellen/Fassbender on her wall or something, but let's face it, that's not going to happen.

Studios are commercially driven and in competition and if these connections existed, it would also mean studios had to take into account each other's stories and films. People would say: 'But where were the X-Men when Loki brought the aliens to Manhattan in Avengers? The X-Men are also based in New York, so why didn't they show up? Were they all on vacation or what?'

So they make themselves separate in order for it to work.

It will be interesting who introduces Scarlet Witch first and how her powers are explained if she debuts in the Avengers series. Will they go into the mutant thing, which comes with a whole set of social and political ramifications? Probably not. She'll probably be explained as being born with some sort of supernatural abilities that are honed with magical training from Agatha Harkness. It will be part of Marvel Studios' eventual foray into the magical world, just as Doctor Strange will be too.

I'd rather see Beast (Kelsey Grammer) and Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming) back to the cast. It would be an awesome x-men team.
Phoenix (Famke Jansen) has to come back. It's my favorite x-men.
Please Bryan do something great in this movie with the Phoenix. Rebirth from her ashes, Don't kill her.

Cyclops i don't care, i like his power, but he's not interesting in the movies.

January Jones should be back as Emma, she was good.
Havok and Banshee were good in first class (but I did not like Kravitz's mutant, the worst i have seen in the x-men movie series).

Yes. He would have been better as Angel compare to Ben Foster, even if Angel doesn't have a lot of scenes in the movie.

Yes, that is true. He was the Angel they wanted but I'm not sure whether he dropped out because he preferred the part in Poseidon over the role of Angel, or whether he was signed for both and X3's delayed filming schedule meant he couldn't film both and had to drop out.

Angel only had like three lines... how many lines did he have in Poseidon. Angel in X3 was such a hyped character, but amounted to so little.
