5.17 - Void (Spoilers) Discussion Thread

It seems to be pretty much par for the course by this time of the season. I can almost remember last season the heavy complaining started after the first block of episodes.

Its almost like people are overly anxious to see the conclusion of what the season is building up to and they get frustrated.

Me, I've loved this season and from here on out its only getting better.

I agree with you avid. It seems they like to start with a bang and end with a bang. They put they're more experimental episodes in the middle. They always seem to put the primarily Superman mythos based episodes like bookends with a few sprinkled in between to keep the die hard comic fans tuning in.

Its mainly because those first couple episodes sucked. Unless your into Green K love potions and Kryptonite plastic surgery.

The fifth season started out good, it just went downhill fast. For episodes are are actually good, the reviews and reactions arent mixed. Pretty much everyone thought Hidden and Cyborg were good episodes. The mixed reviews tend to be reflective of the crappy episodes.

Uh, wouldn't mixed reviews be more indicative of so-so, or just-ok episodes?* Some liked 'em, some didn't.

*Yes, they would.

Well nevertheless I'd say this season's "bad" episodes are still better than last season's bad episodes, except for Tomb which is probably worse than anything from last season sans maybe Lucy. IMO the only bad ones we've gotten this year are Thirst, Tomb, and Hypnotic. The mediocre ones are Aqua, Exposed, and Vengeance. But everything else is either good or great.

i dont understand how lois in a bikini can be considered mediocre....no offense.

I don't even really remember most of season four...by choice. This season has been a big turnaround for SV.

I hope Zod, Fine, & The Finale Make's Up For This Season's Forgettable Episode's  If The Rumor Is True About That Flight Battle Between Clark & Fine & Clark Finding All About Througb Flash Back's That Fine Give's Him Then That Alone Will Make It One Hell Of A Finale

Nope. Because even episodes that are really horrible, Ive noticed that some fans on here watch them over and over till they find them good. Even the worst episode of SV would get some good reviews among SV fans....so thats why mixed is an indication of a generally bad episode. Most of the time, good reactions seem to indicate a good episode (Cyborg, Hidden). When the general reaction was 'it was ok' or 'it wasnt bad' then its a so-so episode.

It isnt enough to make an average episode into a good one.

I could go on the internet and find a better looking woman with a better body in a bikini.

Hmmm maybe it's because we LIKE Smallville? Crisis, you give me a headache, seriously.

I love to read other SV fans take on an episode because I miss a lot (I have kids) and also because I don't know Superman's backstory that well. It's interesting to me. Now what I don't get is why people who don't even like the show come on here. Is it really that entertaining to get people spun up?

I don't go on stupid shows I won't name message boards and tell the people there that what they think is obviously because they are all delusional. (Don't ask! My head hurts!) Why would I? It's makes no sense. I don't care about a show I don't watch it or take time out of my day to discuss it or wonder why people watch it because it's so bad.

AAAaaaargh! I going to take an Advil.

It is called his own opinion. Not everyone has to like every Episode of Smallvile. Are People not allowed to have their own opinion's anymore ? Just because he does not like specific Episode's does not mean he does not like Smallville at all either. But I guess that does not matter since People can not have their own opinion's anymore. It is all now like it or be gone. Not everyone will agree with everyone else all the time. I did not like this Episode does that mean I don't like Smallville to ?

No dude. You can watch whatever you want. Im not calling you dellusional for liking it. Clearly different ppl like different stuff, Im just keeping it real. I found Void entertaining. I enjoy the show for what it is and Void was some pretty good comedy for me.

Realistically though, I just cant consent to it being a good episode, especially if we define Hidden and Cyborg as the basis for what good episodes are.

I'm sorry, once again I'm being too obtuse.

Are you friends with Crisis? That's good....it's good to have friends.

Did I say that you had to love everything about Smallville to be a fan? Well, now that would be very high and mighty of me wouldn't it? Oh, I just reread it and no, I didn't. I did, however, ask the question that if you don't like a show why watch it?

The reason I ask that is because, well, some of the frequent posters come on here and, well, let's just say they complain a lot and never have anything good to say. So as my son would say, "My head is telling me" that this person doesn't like the show. Hence the question, "Why do you watch it"? Better yet, why visit a message board for a show you really don't like? The answer, I can't tell you because I don't understand it personally.

His opinion........well, okay reread his post. If you are a diehard SV fan, do you find it just a bit derogatory? I did. I understand he was trying to give someone a heads up on how to gage how good the show was, but really I don't believe most of us watch a show multiple viewings just so we can convince ourselves it had value.

Some of us just like the show and that's my opinion. So, yes, you can have an opinion. I give you persmission.

No I am not. I just understand that people have their own opinion & that not everyone will like certain episodes & try not to assume stuff like that either. How would you like if I assumed & just sticked with the thought that your a jack ass who can not handle someone not liking something & somene havng their own opinion ? But hey if you can make assume things then so can I & I say your a jack ass.

Some of us ? Again I say JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE DOES NOT LIKE CERTAIN EPISODES DOES NOT MEAN THEY DO NOT LIKE THE SHOW.

First off, I'm not a dude. Wierd that I care, but anyway I guess I have to be more tolerant because here I thought you didn't like any of the episodes. You have to admit that more of your posts are on the negative rather than the positives. Maybe those are just the ones that I catch. :(

There was no reason for the name calling.

Everyone is allowed to express their opinions and whether they agree ort not with someone elses opinion....but there is no reason to stoop to name calling and belittleing comments.

Let's try and keep it civil in here please.

Thats usually a reflection of the show itself. I always try to keep it real. I'm really not biased towards any particular show or film.

Believe me, if Superman Returns (for example) sucks when I finally see it, I will be the first to say it does. Likewise for anything..

I'll reply to this one because your other post was a little over the top.

I'm going to make this plain and simple okay?

You are welcome to like or dislike any episode you want to.

I was not implying that you did not like the show. In fact my entire post was not about you.

I was referring to the comment about how "some" SV fans will watch an episode over and over until they find them good. I was just saying that a lot of us just like the show, good, bad and ugly. Meaning we don't have to make excuses for it. I think most of us agree that there are episodes that could definitely have been done better, but for the most part we look for the good of each episode because we're invested in it.

That's not saying I don't think you're a fan if you don't do that.

Okay, I can't placate you any more than that so if this didn't do it for you there's nothing else I can say.

According to KikiDee no one is allowed to have thier own opinions & if you dont like one Episode you dont like the Show Period

I can't argue with that.
