6.19 Nemesis - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

Why don't people actually *read* a thread before making a statement like this?

In Nemisis, Clark was weakened by the Kryptonite so much he had trouble walking. He couldn't break the chains, push rocks away, or lift a freakin' island. LOL The caves were covered with Kryptonite DUST, which was pointed out when Chloe wiped it off the shoulder of one of he rescue workers.

What people *should* be complaining about is how in the world Kryptonite would get that far underground? THAT didn't make sense, not the effects of the K *dust* on Clark.

Actually, that is what I have a far bigger problem with... there was just so much kryptonite.

How did such a huge amount get so far underground?

I thought that if maybe if the tunnel system wasn't old, they might have used meteor infected fill dirt when constructing the tunnels but that complex of tunnels looked old... Far too old to explain it that way.

*shrug*

I'm going to mention it in my review, actually...

Yeah but someone who is 100% good wouldn't feed a person to the lions. Which is what Lionel did. He knew what his son did to her. He knew what she would be trapped in. And he didn't give a damn.

According to what he told Lana, he didn't know about that when he threatened her.

He only found out later somehow, although I'm not sure how he would have unless he had overheard what the doc and Lex had talked about...

*shrug*

He lied. He knew. Or did we so easily forget Promise? Lex and Lionel were at Luthorcorp and when Lionel left he hid behind the corner and listened to Lex on the phone. He cleaned up the doctors murder for Lex too. Somehow I really doubt Lionel didn't know what Lex was doing.

Re-watching the Clana scene, how cool would it have been if when she was going to touch his arm his wounds would've been healing themselves with the emerging sunlight?

I completely missed the solar thing during my first viewing.

That would have been brilliant, but I think they're saving the big reveal for the finale.

I was in awe. Sheer, awe. Beautiful and emotion laden. What a scene!

Speaking of emotional scenes, I need to gush about this one...

See, in my little corner of the galaxy, it's all about Clark. Not Lana. Not Lex. Not Chloe. CLARK! As much as I want to see him move on, it breaks my heart to see him in such emotional pain.

That is all.

i had an issue with final scenes- he heals miraculously after having barely the energy to stand yet no-one clicked on to this how? No paramedics determined to check him out? I was really hoping clark was moving on from lana but this puts it right back to the surface and makes the 'friends' option harder. *Waits for season finale*

1 of the paramedics checked him out exactly when he stood up, both mumble something to each other, presumably Clark told him he was just fine, then we see the paramedic guy running towards the ambulance.

must. pay. attention.
still seems fishy though :hyper: He had lots of blood down his arms but no cuts- or did the blood disappear too?

Standard procedure is, if the patient is awake and lucid and not an apparent danger to himself or others, if he refuses medical attention, they can't touch him. As Kai said, it's a good presumption that Clark simply said he was fine, so the paramedic ran off to attend to situations elsewhere.

What Lionel claimed to know nothing about, was what was going on down in the tunnels.

I feel the same, but I feel it for her too. Heartbreak x 2 for me.

That's a gorgeous panel. I love the amped up colors. You should remove that silly CW stamp though.

I actually feel badly for both Clark and Lana in that beautiful scene at the end of the episode. (Great panel btw, Pat). Both of them have been victimized and misunderstood and lied to by Lex, by Lionel and even between themselves. That last scene was simply gorgeous and expressed just how deeply they feel about one another without even having to say a single word. And I also noticed that Clark is the only one that Lana perked up for and showed true emotion with in this episode. She had dead eyes and an aura of coldness with just about everyone else. Whether or not you ship Clark and Lana, this scene is just one of many good ones which show just how much they mean to eachother. It was touching just as the scene at the end of Hidden. No words needed.

No one has posted ratings for this episode like they usually do. Does anyone have a breakdown?

Just for you, 'Rene. Rebuilding an ear aint easy. ;)

Ratings info coming up, Rump (unless somebody beats me to it.)

They werent too crash hot, which is probably why. I think that's just standard for Smallville at this time of the year. The ratings drop and then once the premiere rolls around they pick up again.

Nope, it was the fake pregnancy thing.

I just watched it again....

Lana: You knew what Lex was doing to me: orchestrating a fake pregnancy and making me believe that I lost a baby... And you still trapped me in a marriage with him.

Lionel: Didn't know then what Lex was--

Lana (interrupting): Save your oxygen, you wouldn't want to jeopardize your surgery.

So how was smallville Last Week & Last night ? (I haven't tuned in, anything worth watching ?)

Also Were Their any New Tv spots shown of Spidey last night ?

did you watch Jonathon Ross. Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst were on there last night.

Just a brilliant scene all around--the music, the beautifully-eerie silence. Probably the most poetic SV scene committed to film yet.

And when he turned around for the first time and saw Lana I thought all that was missing was the cape. ;) :supes:
