I like Jennifer Lawrence and thought she was good in Silver Linings Playbook, but I don't think she deserved the award over Chastain or Watts. Good for her though.


Also thought it was nice Ben Affleck had a comeback of sorts.

Eh I didn't think Portman desreved it for Black Swan. Sometimes you disagree with their picks and sometimes you don't. Nobody is right or wrong...most of the time.

Agreed. The haters can keep on hating as far as I am concerned. All I know is that Hathaway and Lawrence have both got this for all time, it's set in stone. I got what I wanted with this year's season.

The fact that Lawrence and Hathaway were nominated before removes them from being on the long list of "One Hit Oscar Wonders" as Waltz was before he was nominated again this year.

And the Wallis kid, she may never be nominated again. We'll see.

I like Affleck, his speech was a bit embarrassing in parts but it's good to see him doing well, even if I thought Argo was merely solid.

I thought MacFarlane was cool. I figured he would do some tongue in cheek music which fortunately was only at the start and the end. I'm not a fan of goofy musical numbers so it was enough.

People, in general, LIKED MacFarlane. Although, I don't think anyone - loved - his performance. He's definitely no Billy Crystal. But I've been reading some critics tearing him apart online. Obviously they're doing it for attention, but they do have some legitimate things to say.

Hosting these shows is a thankless job. I thought he did the best he could. He should make fun of himself on Family Guy.

He may not even be interested.

I think if Hugh were to host in tandem with anyone, it should be Anne. They were great together for their little bit when he hosted, and she deserves another shot with someone who isn't a block of wood.

Didn't care for the Oscars this year, but Adele won for Skyfall on behalf of Bond fans everywhere so I'm happy.

Other thoughts:

Daniel Day-Lewis has won so many awards, he should be tested for banned substances!

I do believe the Best Picture award was going to go to Les Mis or Lincoln, but after Ben started his award winning streak, I think the Academy gave him Best Picture to make up for snubbing him for Best Director in order to save face. Ben should've gotten Best Director for The Town anyway.
