I thought MacFarlane did well. His comedy translates well to an award show, where you don't need a narrative.

Yeah he did his job. He kept the show rolling well.

Clooney lets Heslov speak for them, as I expected. Typically gentlemanly of him.

He's now only the third actor to also win Best Picture (the others being Laurence Olivier and Michael Douglas).

It's cool to say that everything sucks or is overrated. The internet is annoying that way.

Well Lawrence and Hathaway won so I'm fine with the results. I do hope that this early win doesn't kill her career. I think that Chastain and Adams will win in the next five years and it will be well deserved because they are fantastic.

That was improperly phrased. The third actor to win an acting Oscar and also Best Picture. Clooney won for Syriana, Douglas for Wall Street (Best Picture for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest), and Olivier for Hamlet (the same film he got Best Picture for).

A number of other actors have just won Picture, including Costner and Eastwood.

I like Jennifer Lawrence and thought she was good in Silver Linings Playbook, but I don't think she deserved the award over Chastain or Watts. Good for her though.


Also thought it was nice Ben Affleck had a comeback of sorts.
