He ran up to help her, but she'd gotten herself back up by then.

Again, if that was me, I would have stayed where I was and let him carry me 'Officer and a Gentleman'-style to the stage.

My quick belated thoughts.

'Twas quite the show. I don't know what the general consensus will be tomorrow, but I really enjoyed Seth Macfarlane as host. He wasn't as great as Billy Crystal or anything, but I liked the old style use of music, dance and a few Family Guy styled gags (like the Von Trapp family).

I honestly was surprised that Lee won Best Director and that Lawrence beat Chastain, though I'm happy with both (and I would have been just as happy if Spielberg or Chastain won in their respective categories). Really happy to see Hathaway and Waltz win and nice to see Affleck proverbially say, "How do you like these apples?"

All around, a great year for the show.

BTW this is old, but for all you Les Mis fans out there (I know you're here) what'd y'all think of the Academy making Samantha Barks and Aaron Tveit sit out most of the end of One Day More so as to better highlight Crowe? I thought it was hilariously odd.

i know they had to sing the "original" song but i really wanted to hear Do You Hear the People Sing

Tviet and Barks were probably my favorite parts of Les Mis and of course the little boy.

i've basically been listening to One Day More, Do You Hear.... the Epilogue and One Day More all night

Barks looked amazing though. loved that color of dress
