Trust me, I'm Chinese, and you don't really want to go there. It's a touchy subject that will likely escalate things.

That stated, I believe that black Americans do have a point, when one considers the extraordinary influence their culture has had on pretty much all modern American performance-art culture, and yes, I include film in that.

Politically, blacks have been fighting prejudice and injustice since slavery so it's a very important tradition in the black community.

Gay activist are also very vocal and politically active when compared to certain minorities and groups.

that brings up an interesting thought. Would a studio be more willing to have a white gay male lead or a black lead? I may be wrong but I feel there are more people who have a problem with homosexuality than with non-white people, yet i feel if there was a popular gay actor a studio would see him as more marketable. Is that because the gay actor can "act" straight whereas a black actor cannot "act" white? Sorry I don't know much about political correctness and I am not trying to say anything offensive, just trying to learn.

comic book nerds were also a noted minority fighting injustice and disadvantages. But they were the only minority to win the social lottery. Our funny book men in tights now dominate the pop culture discourse. People go out of their way to be pretend to be comic book geeks just to fit in. They should make a movie about how comic book nerds won.

Honestly, latinos and asians also have their own battles to fight, but I think, and it's not me being negative, a lot of them just kinda shrug it off and are like, "meh, we're doing our own things anyway."

that's true, though i think people are more willing to say they have a problem with homosexuality than race. At least in Canada I never hear anyone say they have a problem with ______ race but quite a few people are outspoken against gay rights

I am not saying that gay people still don't have it rough. But my cousin dated a black guy and she was always getting stared at/talked behind her back. People still have this hilarious reaction to things like that in America.

I think a lot of people are still very, very uncomfortable with gay relationships. In my personal life I still constantly hear the old representation equals promotion. Simply have a gay couple equals "promoting a lifestyle" to a lot of people.

I know that two out of three of my brothers have white ladies as partners and I like those women. There are cultural differences of course but that just makes things interesting. And one of my cousins is married to a white guy and I quite liked him when I visited my Uncle last summer. I think there is no doubt that "interracial" couples have it way easier than gay couples.

Recent trailers for the for the movie have focused on Cohen's roles as Borat and Ali G.
I think what he did at the Oscars was an attempt at shameless promotion for his new film and it is not going to work, IMO.

I did find it funny that Oscars hate the genre that is keeping Hollywood afloat though. The Oscars obsessive insideriness has produced yet another low rated show. And no I am not a moron I do not think that films should be nominated based on box office numbers.

I believe he is using over the top language to get his point across. His point being that he hates Superhero films.
