Jubilee to me has always been poor subsiture for Kitty/Shadowcat.

We might not even have outfits in future and have first Class style uniforms In past.

The black leather was response to bad taste of Batman & Robin and a response to success of the Matrix.

I wouldn't mind seeing Jubilee return. Like Gambit, she was another one of my favourite characters from the 90's cartoon. I wouldn't mind seeing her in a role a bit bigger than what she had in the previous movies, though I doubt she would get much screen time even if she was included, but I'd be happy with something along the lines of what Colossus got.

Jubilee already her chances to be in the movie, I don't think she should return for a bigger role.

Of all the deviations from the comics, the black leather costumes bother me the least, if at all. There was at least some colour in some of the costumes--Wolverine had some yellow, Cyclops had some blue, in X1 Jean had some green and in X2 some red, and Storm had some white, all of which may have been references to their comic costumes.

I like the leather costumes, it really works and I like that most of them had their own colors (Yellow for Wolverine, White for Storm, etc). But my problem with it was in X3, most of the guys had the same look, all of them had that big X at the chest. Then the costumes for Rogue and Shadowcat were too similar. And I wish Beast's uniform wasn't so different compare to the rest of the X-Men. The X-Men costumes should have individuality and at the same time, they should look cohesive.

i can't say for the others but I believe Beast's costume was intentionally supposed to look different. He was wearing an old costume from an earlier rendition of the X-Men's suits. IIRC in the film he says somthing about how the suit doesn't fit him or something

Yes, he does say that. And I thought it was a nice nod to the fact he had been an X-Men member years before.

I know that but I think it would have looked better if his costume had the same look to the costume of the other X-Mens.

Kesley Grammer is the man. I hope he comes back.

Me too!

The big questions about characters are:

1) Which ones will be already dead with their names on gravestones

2) Which characters will be killed by Sentinels

3) Which ones will not be killed by Sentinels

4) Which one(s) will travel in time

too many questions and too much speculation

I need the movie soon! lol

alive mutants imo should be

wolverine
kitty
magneto
storm

thats it jean, scott, xavier were already dead so lol

I'd like to add an older Mystique, played by Rebecca Romijn she completely embodied the character and would love to see her armed with guns and possibly in a variation of her white costume from the comics

We have to take into account that the Characters of the future wont only be x-men.

So appart from 3 or 4 x-men from original trilogy, Bryan could include one or two new characters from the comics, so the line up would be pretty decent.

But if the past is in the 1960s, it's not logical that the pivotal event in that era only causes Sentinels to appear after X3 (sometime in the 2000s).

It may work better for the future to be an alternate timeline in the 1980s or 1990s when Xavier, Jean and Scott are alive.

I think one sentinel could have appeared before X1, just not in public eyes. And the goverment never felt the need to use it/them again, until a future event.

One theory is that the sentinels were created in the 60's, the x-men from the future learn about this someway, and they decide to send a x-woman to the 60's to avoid the event that led to the sentinels creation.

That would be a good explanation, definetly.

The whole point of them wanting to do DoFP is to bring back familiar faces from the original trilogy.

So I can't see the point of adding new characters from the comics, other than as background cameos.

The focus will be on familiar faces.

And if the future is an alternate timeline then they could even include Scott and Jean and Xavier.

That's a good idea: that they want to stop the Sentinels ever being created.

How much time do you think there should be between the past and the future?

Ive just edited my post, lol

I hadnt answered to your specific issue, about why the sentinels werent used before that future

I saw that. It makes sense.

An event happened in the 60s that led to the secret creation of Sentinels, and the traveller must stop the event and ensure the Sentinels are destroyed.

That's similar to the animated series, in which Mastermold and the other Sentinels already existed at the time of the assassination.

Of course the focus will be the actors from original trilogy, but be sure that the future will have a few supporting characters too. Im not saying 10 characters, lol, but definetly one or two.

It wouldnt be realistic that the only characters that lead the mission on the future are x-men, you know? hehe

Even the storyarc on the comic has Rachel, Franklin... appart from the four x-men.

The 90's series had Bishop more those unknown mutants fighting with Logan.

This sequel wont be any different.

It will be GREAT to see original actors on the future, but we need a fresh take too, so that would be brought by one or two new characters.

Its an "ambitious" sequel, lets dont expect something simple :cwink:

I think we will get a good one or two more mutants with screen time we havnt seen yet. With this story spanning over so much time I dont think thats overkill.

Edit: Actually we are probably gonna see alot of new mutants. They have to show mutants being wiped out and held up in camps. Plus Prof X school in the past is bound to have new students. The X Men dont exactly converse with the population outside the Government. So I think its safe to assume there will be some new ones.

yeah, and more if Singer gives a bit more screentime to the future scenes.

I think, if anything, we are expecting too much in wanting all of the familiar faces to come back - Wolverine, Storm, Xavier, Magneto, Colossus, Cyclops, Jean, Beast, Kitty, Rogue, Iceman, Angel, Nightcrawler, Gambit. They won't bring back all of those - some will be dead or never even mentioned.

agree. I dont expect more than 4 or 5 familiar faces. either I want it.

I want something dramatic, dark and realistic at the same time.

to have all the alive x-men from X3 wouldnt be serious.

Going beyond this film and continuing the franchise has got to be going through the studios head. Unless they sign the OT members for three more flicks I would think they would start to open the possibility for other/new characters to move forward. They have to keep it going unless this is it for Singer and crew, then they reboot after.

If they dont introduce some of the more time travel/alt reality characters here, then they are missing an opportunity imo. Cable and Bishop alone get mentioned in every forum on the net. Fans want to see them.
