I think it would be really interesting to see James play Scott now, like a more commanding and mature Cyclops. Im sure he could give us a great performance, and directed by a good director, either Singer or Vaughn.

Just grow the hair a bit more, and he'd look badass

In fairness, Singer had previously said he envisaged the Colossus transformation in X2 to be like a liquid metal. So there's no problem with that being carried forward into X3.

The problem with X3 Colossus is that the metal armour looked cheap and too shiny, it needed to be a dull (matte) finish and more organic looking.

Also, it makes no sense for Colossus not to have armour over his entire head, or he'd be vulnerable to attacks on top of his head! But the shiny metal effect in X3 was wrong.

It definitely did look cheap and overly shiny. Even though Colossus has been really shiny in the comics, that approach doesn't translate well to a movie. I've always wanted a more "plated" approach when Colossus is armoring up.

I've thought about the armored head thing before, and I've come to the conclusion that his scalp would still be metal underneath his normal hair. he problem I have with normal hair is, what if someone like Pyro were to burn it off? I imagine that would make Colossus bald. Also, I'd like a darker tone for his hair if it's going to be metallic.

I'm really not understanding why people are complaining about the Colossus mask? We never had a close up of the mask. When we did, he was covered in CGI. The metal suit was just for background shots and reference shots.

But I will agree that he looked much better in X2; but it's not like his look in X3 was so far off what it was in X2 that it was unbearable.

I can't image why he wouldn't/couldn't (cause its not like he's too busy these days) but, if for some reason Shawn Ashmore wasn't able to return, would you object to his twin bother Aaron taking his place?

If Shawn Ashmore can't play Ice Man then they should leave the character out. (Some characters are supposed to be dead in this story.)

Mostly I wanna see Marsden as Cyclops, Cudmore as Collosus and Kitsch as Gambit in this, along with all of the FC cast of course, along with a cameo from older Xavier and Magneto, that would be fine with me.

The look was better in X2 by far but, yes, the film had bigger issues. We're just hanging around waiting for some official news and that always means the nitpicking and overthinking begins! When fans get bored, they start to dissect everything to death!

I think Marsden could be a good candidate for coming back since he has a good working relationship with Bryan Singer. Plus, he has had a huge increase in profile since X3 (appearing in hits Hairspray, Enchanted, 27 Dresses, Hop) but not to the point that he is an A-lister and would command a prohibitive salary. I honestly want them to ignore X3 or set it in an alternative timeline so that James and Famke can both come back.

I don't really care for his current look, but that could either be for some film or what he likes for himself. Regardless, it really shouldn't impact on how he should look like for another X-men movie since they would likely have him look more like he did in the previous X-men. Personally I liked his look in X3 even though we didn't see much of him.

I think he could probably play Scott better. He's a good actor and has no doubt learned a thing or two since then.

Though saying that I have to say that Cyclops is the character I'm most worried about. I want him back most of all because I think he got screwed over and it's a difficult situation since he was essentially killed off (quite wrongly) in X3.

Outside of that I generally want to see a lot of the original X-men cast back (Stewart, McKellen and co.), but I'd also like to see Schreiber's Sabretooth and Kitch's Gambit return since I really liked those characters from Origins (if not the overall film).

The only way I could see him coming back is if X3 is thrown out (which appears will not be the case) or they reveal that he’s really alive. With all that will be going on, would there be sufficient time to address this?

I wouldn't mind either option to be honest. I don't think anyone would really cry over X3 being jettisoned, though I think the idea of him not being killed off perhaps is the easier option to write for.

However, not knowing how they are going to adapt DoFP I could imagine that with time travel being involved and trying to prevent an apocalyptic future that they could end up rewriting Cyclops death if they carry on with him being dead in X3.
