They were being attacked and gave them a chance to stop attacking

But those guards had no idea who they were. For all they knew, they were HYDRA agents coming to steal the facility's secrets to create the world's worst biological weapon or something.

I understand what Coulson et all were doing, but it did kinda rub me the wrong way to see them bust in and kill those two guards in order to save Skye. Like breaking into some warehouse and mowing down a pair of midnight security guys just because they needed some item to complete a mission.

Coulson to May at the end of the episode:

"I just got really scared that she would suffer the way that I did...but she didn't...for whatever reason...she didn't"

Could the "whatever reason" be that in her case the serum was derived from the same species?

....that's exactly what a top secret intelligence agency would do.

Coulson explicitly said 3 times that they were S.H.I.E.L.D agents and they needed help to revive a fallen team member, through the speaker thing.

Yeah,he gave them ample chance to reason things out.

Still wonder why there was just two guys working there?

"Just guard this place until we want to bring someone back to life again".

True. I mean, this is a whole new set of questions. What agency were they working for, what else happened at the "Guest House"? A bunch of bio-experiments? etc, etc...

One was even named Bob.

Coulson did identify themselves as Shield though, didn't he?Those guards must've known something of Shield since Fury used the place. But they stood by their orders rather than working things out with Coulson.

A.I.M. Perhaps? With all those acronyms floating around down in that base, it wouldn't be hard to imagine another room somewhere with M.O.D.O.K. written on it

True, but now I hope there is no MODOK there, unless he's in a bomb-proof room. :)

Which is okay if that's the angle they're taking (not being facetious, I'm actually okay with it). But that puts Coulson more in line with the darker SHIELD "Do anything for the sake of the mission/security" that the new Cap movie is showcasing, and less along the lines in how Cap would have handled the situation (probably would have found some way to neutralize them, but then again, that's why he's Cap).

Again, not a big deal, but I wasn't expecting Coulson to go in that direction.

Coulson explicitly said 3 times that they were S.H.I.E.L.D agents and they needed help to revive a fallen team member, through the speaker thing.

Understood, there really was nothing much else Coulson could do given the time constraints and lack of preparation. But from the guards points of view, without any proof, these guys could have been HYDRA agents saying they were just part of SHIELD. Primarily because they had no idea what the security code was to get into the place.

Great episode, though. The series is really on one heck of an upward swing finally! I thought I read that Bill Paxton was signed for a few episodes, though? I do hope we see more of him.

those symbols look similar to the
circuit board parts.. i thought first they looked like quasar's symbol

Yes we as the audience knew Coulson had good intentions, but those guards didn't know. If a guy shows up at your door with a gun, says he's a cop but doesn't show a badge, are you just going to let him in?

I hope there's some more of Skyes situation developed in the next episode even though it'll be Sif/Lorelei centric. I don't want to lose momentum on that front.

I was going with frost giant until I went back and could not find a picture of a frost giant from Thor with a fully developed human ear, save Loki.

The writing on the chest looks similar to the writing from that episode from the room? forget which episode that was?

T ?
A ?
H ?
Inhuman
Terrestrial
Inhabitant

I can't wait until Season 1 is released on Blu-Ray because you know there is a gag reel scene where Agent Ward tells Paxton's character that the timer mechanism isn't controlling the explosives and Paxton says:

"We're all gonna die man! Game over man!"

Coulson don't need no stinkin' badges.:o

Frost Giant or Kree for sure. However, don't the frost giants in Thor have ridges on their heads?

Also, wouldn't Kree make the most sense? They're blue and larger than humans. They are created or were created by Thanos right? Ties into upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy which may not have Thanos in it, but is a Guardians villain. The Kree experimented with humans creating the Inhumans who had a city in the Himalayas, who were worshipped by local humans etc. Aren't Inhuman powers dormant until activated by some mist or something?...

Skye is an object of unknown origin. Found in a village in China, maybe close to the Himalayas and the Inhuman city. It would make sense that she's a Inhuman (or a descendant of) and this GH serum is a substitute for the Mist that activates an Inhumans powers... right?

G.H is Gramosian Host.... Gotg will have a blue Gramosian character in it and the Gramosian have been featured in Thor... They have energy blast powers

Just a guess...

The Deltite guys, look it up. Hmm

Wow, that page references all the big players that are going to be together in the MCU here with the next Cap movie in a month. The timing of this episode and all those other characters really makes this particularly interesting.

Great catch!

Triskellion mention was nice

Also the "616" mention was pretty cool

I assume the GH serum is secreted by that Kree's body

And if she is not Drew, then Skye could be a Kree since her body accepted the serum

She fell from the ....
