Name FIVE that are A. critically acclaimed, B. successful at the box office, and C. carry a general positive reception

-_- I just did, in that same post you quoted from. It's starting to become clear though, why apparently none of the movie made sense to you.

Fury Road had ZERO story. What did the characters want? I don't remember 1 name from the film except Max and that's because it's a remake from the 80S! Wheres the back story? All visuals , and not even NEW visuals... just bigger, louder and more Plosions !... and don't forget the nonsensical grunge band playing a concert on the back of a truck while racing through the desert.

Makes perfect sense...

You're right. It had no story whatsoever. It was just people running around with no lines going nowhere doing nothing with splosions. Yes. That's why it was a box office hit and garnered so many award nominations. Must be that.

It felt like they were copying S Returns with that. Weird.

It actually would have made more sense if it was just a basic system that relied on an object to be a key, but the Ship in Batman V Superman relied on fingerprints but no other bio metrics.

Didn't he use the command key though?

...which begs the question why bother sending him off to fight batman in the first place? Why not just unleash Doomsday on him - given that a 10 foot tall Kryptonian killing machine is more likely to do away with Superman than a rich psychopath in a Bat suit?

So there you go, there's my question to everyone:

Why send Superman to fight Batman, if you have Doomsday?

Because the name of the movie is "Batman vs. Superman" DUH!!!

I like to think that Bats doesn't think Supes would even have a secret identity.

So he's either stupid or lazy...

Seriously why would he just assume that when other people didn't? Why would he try to take out the most powerful being on the planet without gathering as much information as possible on him?

I read your post, and it was wrong. Like, dead wrong. You said:

"I don't know what films you've been watching but many good movies (especially based on war time scenarios, and real life stories) do require the additional research. "

"Examples of these are Schindler's List, Empire of the Sun, Flight 93, Saving Private Ryan"

So you're trying to say that people had to do research to understand/enjoy those above movies? Bull ****. So try again.

Yeah, but Fury Road obeys it's own internal logic, doesn't have plot holes, everyone's motivations make sense, it's edited well, and has a focused story (even if it isn't much of one).

Oh we've already proved how dumb this version of Batman is.

Clooney's Batman was smarter than this guy lol

**** I dunno man...he's...he's in a fever or whoever.

They wanted water! LOL

I'm in the minority on that film. I didn't connect with it at all. Visually it was cool to look at, but that's where it begins and ends for me.

Here are a few replies to the Qs in the last few posts.

Maybe he left the ship(s) because the Gov. asked him to so they could study them and for good will trust?

OR maybe because Supes knows they can't get in or use the tech because of the access codes etc. (Lex needed Zods fingerprints to get in.)

Lex knows about the unspeakable abomination (Doomsday) as well as other information about the cosmos because the ship "taught him" about the 100,000 worlds. ( could have shown more,- I agree) This is where he gets the idea from.

Didn't Bats get info from the Mercs and KGB about lex and the Kryptonite?

Didn't Bats and Alfred show that they had files on Superman and were watching him.

They show Alfred "taking care of" Bruce...calling him Master Wayne...Fixing things...can't we assume he either works for Bruce or is helping him?

Ok so BvS isn't perfect, but it's not the trash you guys keep pushing either. Get some perspective.

Its the exact same crap in SR when Kevin Spacey Luther tells the machine to tell him all about the crystals. And then through no explanation at all Lex knows what the crystals are capable of and how they can create weapons and such. We see and know nothing. Guess they were saving it for the sequel. DOH

For the record, even Lois Lane didn't need her finger prints to ENTER the ship.

Now to stay alive, that's a whole different story :)

most of the world doesn't share your opinion, Mr. souperman.

Lex has several motivations and plots.

1) Hates the idea of Superman and the world loving and trusting an alien.
2) He wants to tear Superman down in the eyes of the world. He masterminds the desert episode and court hearings to make Superman look bad.
3) He knows Bruce/Batman is his rival and may get in the way of his master plan so he wants to either work with him against Superman (the invite to come see his lab at the party) and or eliminate him.
4) He learns about the Doomsday abomination from the ship and thinks he can control this creature because he is it's daddy...ala Frankenstein.
5)He plans to use it on Superman in case Batman fails to kill him. (if man wont kill god)
6) He did not "activate" Doomsday until He finds out that Superman and Batman are now working together. He is found out and now S and B know Lex is evil and unless he can scorch the earth and leave no trace of his plot he has no future so he goes all in and releaces DD. He was hedging his bets.

Didn't Bats get info from the Mercs and KGB about lex and the Kryptonite?

If he got info from the mercs then why did he need to hack Lex's servers?

Didn't Bats and Alfred show that they had files on Superman and were watching him.

Then how is the whole "Martha" thing possible? This would have to point to Batman being lazy. He would of had to do the most minimal of research into Superman in order to not know his background.

Again Lois Lane Lex Luthor found out...

And Batman isn't the only idiot in regards to that. The U.S. Government should have easily found out who Superman was given that Zod and his troops showed up in his home town and destroyed his mothers home.

glad you finally agree...

Claiming that Fury Road had literally no story... now that is an example of not paying attention. Or just willful ignorance.

The U.S. Government should have easily found out who Superman was given that Zod and his troops showed up in his home town and destroyed his mothers home.

And, you know, Superman keeps flying home in his Superman getup to talk to Martha. It's not like the government has satellites or anything.

glad you finally agree...

I don't. Just pointing out your strawman argument.

Lex is a psychopath, and more unhinged than any other version (comics or otherwise)...so, trying to make sense of his line of thinking is moot.

Why did Joker do everything he did in Dark Knight? He kept saying that he didn't plan anything, he just does things. But, that goes against everything in Dark Knight, where a great number of things was just planned to perfection.

For the record, even Lois Lane didn't need her finger prints to ENTER the ship.

Now to stay alive, that's a whole different story :)

She followed Clark into the ship....Though she was attacked by one of the drones/droids, hell even Clark was attacked by the droid when he first tried to insert the key. When Lex entered the ship the droid just looked at him for a second and flew away. :funny:

None of those answer my question though:

Why does Lex send Superman off to fight Batman, when he has Doomsday to do it for him? Why specifically send Superman to Gotham to fight Batman when Doomsday is right there in the ship, waiting to be used?

Yeah, but Fury Road obeys it's own internal logic, doesn't have plot holes, everyone's motivations make sense, it's edited well, and has a focused story (even if it isn't much of one).

Fury Road is cohesive and focused.
