I think they started marketing way too early for this, a year in advance is way too long to promote a comicbook film. People get burned out from the marketing. If this film had come out last summer **** it was suppose too I have a feeling it would have had a chance to hold more back.
The one fear I have for Suicide Squad as well. It feels like the movie should be coming out in a couple of weeks. Not 4 months.
Its funny how a bad trailer could possibly influence people. No I'm not saying the bad trailer omits the flaws in the film. However, I'm saying that Doomsday trailer (ironic eh?) sort of killed a lot of momentum for this movie.
Marvel has got it right. They didn't give in to the fans and they held off their material until much later. We still don't have a Doctor Strange trailer. Civil War will benefit from not having footage of their movie already a year old.
Its Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. There is no need to sell this movie so hard.
I agree that the vibe for this movie changes if it drops last summer.

t: Maybe its just where I live but Superman just wasn't there during my childhood. I mean there was cartoons of everything when I was younger- batman, x men, spiderman, fantastic 4, transformer etc, but he was just absent. I saw a kid watching the old Justice League cartoon in a dressing room recently and kids with dc clothes and stuff and whole sections dedicated to bvs in shops so while it may take a while I have high hopes for these characters and they're future impact on younger generations.
