All Things Superman: An Open Discussion - Part 3

However, there's been no confirmation of Jonathan Nolan having anything to do with this film. That was only a rumor.

I'm sure it has. This will be the first film Nolan's produced but not directed so I'm sure he'll have a lot of pride in just showing off what his name on something can do. Secondly, this movie just has to work...this is, cinematically speaking, Superman's last stand. Thirdly, after Green Lantern bombing, when it appeared like they had all the key ingredients in order, its just crucial that they get right one of the biggest things that Green Lantern got wrong... The script.

Agreed, and it doesn't help that Warner Bros. has this whole legal case going on with the Siegals regarding Superman's origins, let alone the usage of his character period.

If MOS doesn't make a GREAT impact on the GA, then Warner Bros. may shelve the character for a much longer period this time around.

I mean, we already have a SUPERB and QUALITY filled class, the kind that had not been seen since CR's first film. Warner Bros. and DC Films need to prove that they can bring their characters that aren't Batman, to life on the big screen without it being a flop or medicore.

IF MOS doesn't have a more than decent B.O. success, WB will take their time (5-10-20 years) to understand the real potential or their franchises and of SH genre.
If MOS is a blockbuster they'll find the way to continue the franchise even with Superman rights splitted in 345.

TBH though, if this one bombs, what on earth could they do better?

I mean they've got it in the hands of the people who succeeded with Batman in a major way, as well as a Director known for putting comics on film in a brilliantly visual way, and they've got one of the best cast ensembles a comic book movie has ever seen.

Seriously, if it flops, what can they blame it on but lack of interest in Superman?

But I don't think that'll happen :)

Well since Terence Stamp is part of Superman history, I'll share it.

I'm going to be an extra in a film, Song For Marion. They're filming up at Newcastle and I have to be in the audience at the church. Starts filming soon, so watch out for me. I'll be the striking looking guy WAAAAAAAAAY at the back, out of sight.

But the constelation is that I'll be the guy running off with Gemma Arterton in the papers, so watch out for me :awesome:

congra!!! extra is actor too!

Thanks man :)

I know I'm in a church and Gemma Arterton will be there. I wanted to see Terence Stamp though and say "KNEEL BEFORE MICHAEL SHANNON!" :awesome:

If you pull it off, make sure the cameras are rolling :p

I'll try :awesome:

I think he's going to be in the scene because has something to do with choire at the church.

I'll probably be arrested though for harassment. Shouting Superman references to Mr. Stamp and caught inhaling Mrs. Arterton's hair...Totally worth it :lmao:

Dean Cain is only person to play Superman looks wise that I believed could not be noticed as Clark Kent. The dude totally looks different with glasses on. He looks way more asian without them.

I wish you the best. Gemma is quite a catch!:cwink:

Did anyone else pick up the latest issue of Booster Gold?
If so, it seems that the next and final issue will feature the Flashpoint Superman vs. Doomsday.

After watching Julia and Julia and Night at the Museum, I officially think Amy Adams is hot. She's a beautiful woman.

Have we gotten any details from the filming of this movie? Or has it not even started yet?

No, the filming hasn't even started yet. All I know is that it starts sometime in August. In fact, that is what I was getting ready to ask when I saw your post. So my question is, does anyone know what part of August are they planning on filming? Are the planning on starting early, mid or late August?

Thank you, that makes sense. :woot: I was wondering why I hadn't been hearing anything about this movie.

I'm fairly sure the production timeline said filming starts August 6th.

Either way a Superman reboot is finally going to happen.

I wonder if they will have a Superman teaser with Sherlock Holmes. And TDKR trailer of course. if they do, I want it modeled after the Begins teaser.
