Why does it have to be all caps with no new information...go wb!!!!

The new information finally confirms Zod, no doubt we'll be getting a reveal shortly.

Also on the TV spot it was just like having the trailer on fast forward except the part where he said "where do I come from?" The footage lingered slightly longer on Cavill.

I think now they've released these tidbits its gonna start now.

Let's just hope that this isn't the only so called "new" thing that Warner Bros. has for the remainder of the week. I'm hoping to wake up towards seeing something special tomorrow (It's still Monday for me in case if anyone is wondering what day I'm talking about.lol).

Lol people on YouTube complaining about the tv spot bring too fast paced! Smh!!

classic fanboy hypocrisy. reading comments on articles when the tv spot was realesed and on different sites. of course they complain that there is no new footage. and that some were thinking that this is why i was complaining about the marketing. to see new footage? insulting.
this was a good tv spot and the purpose was to tell the public about the new movie.

but some here just need new footage. meh

The most frequent question I heard from those of you who stopped me at WonderCon or who sent me e-mails in the days after the event was "Why didn't Warner Bros. show new 'Man Of Steel' footage during the panel?"

Obviously, Warner Bros. marketing doesn't run their decision-making by me for approval, so I can't answer that question conclusively. I can, however, guess based on the reactions I've heard from people who have seen Zack Snyder's Superman movie, and it seems to me that Warner Bros. didn't bring new footage to screen because, frankly, they don't have to.

The most dangerous thing to do with a giant blockbuster in today's media landscape is to jam it down the throat of the audience to the point where they learn to hate the film before they ever lay eyes on it. Sometimes, it's the only option that the studio has, and when they know a movie doesn't work, that's when they kick into overdrive. When a movie has a pre-release awareness as automatic as a new Superman movie and they feel like the film completely works, that's when they get to lay back a bit and let the actual anticipation of the audience do the work for them.

By centering the campaign on an idea instead of a villain, it makes this feel different than most superhero films already. And by emphasizing character over action (and word is there is plenty of action, some of it truly epic), it makes this feel like a real film and not just another empty CGI spectacle.

So the reason I think Warner brought "The Conjuring" and "Pacific Rim" to the WonderCon was because they believe in those films and they know that those are originals, movies that don't come with the automatic cultural weight of a Superman movie, and that they could generate conversation with a great presentation. As a quick look around the Internet right now will prove, even a "Man Of Steel" trailer that features nothing new is enough to cause excited posts everywhere. People are ready to see what Snyder and Nolan have done, and they're excited to see what Henry Cavill does as the character. At this point, if they didn't show us anything new between now and release, I still think they'd have theaters packed on opening day.

i have no problem with old footage you know why?

Brilliant.

Did TDKR have any "advanced footage" at CC tho?

That was the same way I looked at it man!! I am SO excited right now!!! :woot::woot::woot:

That synopsis thing has been online (on the official site among others) for quite a while so it's not exactly new.

Also, the fact that the first TV spot had only old footage really makes me doubt a new trailer comes out next week. Now I'm convinced it's going to be with IM3's domestic release and probably online that week on Tuesday, 30th.

Anyone else more or less worried about Cavill's performance now? That shot had me a little worried, but then again I feel that way about a lot of scenes of actors when they're included in trailers, then they end up making sense and flowing perfectly in the film. I really hope he does at least as well as Routh did.

I spend all day in the emergency room and get home to this....I told you folks there would be a tv spot during the Final Four!

less worried not that one would be worried to begin with:huh:

that shot was'nt wooden, uncharasmatic,or boring he was very expressive, likeable, genuine and charismatic imo

I was just about to post about that actually. I cringed when I saw how he delivered that line. Hopefully that is the one of the very times I will cringe at his performance... :(

good lord:doh: it is the same clip from the second trailer with just 2 seconds longer shot of his head tilting

yet you didn't say anything before??

It's not the same. We see him deliver a full line and I think the delivery was bad, his facial expressions were over the top and looked like someone trying to act instead of acting. That is my opinion. Not an opinion on his performance as a whole (I am one of the biggest Cavill supporters here or anywhere actually) but just on this line. Which I believe I am entitled to form because again, we see him deliver a full line.

This is a forum dude, by now you should learn to accept people will post opinions you don't like.

So, good lord:doh: right back at ya bud! ;)

Yeah. Well like I said, there are so many times when I have seen many actors performances in trailers and thought they were "meh" or that they came off as "over the top" in the trailer because it simply doesn't mesh 100% with how they cut it together, whether it's for time, context, etc, your mind reads things a certain way and then something doesn't click with it, then when I see the movie it's all perfect and seamless and I have no complaints about the actor's performance whatsoever.

Case and point, I remember watching the trailer for Batman Begins and hearing Christian Bale's voiceover and thinking it over the top and even somewhat laughable, even the initial TDK voiceover teaser they had Bale sounded trying too hrd to be intense, but you all know how those movies turned out. :D And on the flip side of that I remember seeing the trailers for Oz the Great and Powerful and thinking "boy, James Franco looks like he actually may be enjoyable in this and like he gives a good performance!" (and I like Franco in general, I liked him in Pineapple Express and Freaks and Geeks), then I watched the first clip online and saw the movie itself and not only was it terrible but he was hard to watch as well, in my opinion (but did GA care? Nope).

So it is really hard to say with these things, especially when we have so little to go by. I think by the time the first clip is released I'll be able to say for sure. Routh's line in the one SR trailer "It's not easy being who I am....keeping secrets" made me cringe the first time I heard it and sounded somewhat nasally, however I liked him very much as Clark Kent when I saw the movie and especially as Superman in the roof top scene with Lois, I thought his performance was great there and throughout the whole night flying sequence. I just hope Cavill's Superman is a manly Superman and isn't going to come off as too vulnerable or touchy feely throughout the bulk of the movie to the point where it comes off as very obviously contrived. The "S" stands for Super, not "sensitivity". I was just saying how I felt about that little clip is all.

But I am super anxious at this point.

Yeah, I know it's hilarious how it's not even a "real" new trailer but is just like 2 seconds more of footage and I say this. lol ...I am just as astounded as you at the absurdity of this...but there it is. :csad: lol

That's pretty much how I felt about it.

Having only watched it on my phone, I noticed immediately what you're talking about. On my phone's small screen, it looked like he finished asking his question and then raised his eyebrows in a really hopeful, over the top manner to convey he doesn't know anything and want's answers. But then I watched it on my computer in 720, full screen, and the look he gives isn't as over the top or cheesy as the smaller version suggested. It kind of has more 'layers' to it, if that makes sense. Maybe you already have, but if not, definitely re-watch that bit in HD, see if it changes your mind like it did mine.

And at this point, if anyone thinks we are over analysing here, all I can say is, this is the first bit of new MoS footage in 4 months, and THE first time we see Cavill deliver a line ever for this film. Indulge us a second ;)

What? Some people just love to nitpick, there was nothing wrong with that line at all.

I dunno. I actually think his acting's better in the TV spot, but I feel like both Trailer 2 and the new spot have had the dialog edited for time, with some of the dramatic pauses cropped out. I know the "wasn't ready" dialog sounds far better in the CC trailer than any of the official ones.

Also, doesn't Cavill kind of look like Dreamworks' Moses w/ the beard? Like if you squint?

I'm totally fine with them withholding new footage. The more they do that the more I think the stuff they'e saving up is going to blow our minds.
