Anyone remember technically the first tv spot for TDKR?

What is funny is the film itself had little action. That spot itself is really sloppy. Everything related to the new continent, outside of the ship being destroyed....was borderline unmarketable, it is so ugly to look at.

I cant believe that thing got green lighted...

I can, but then again I enjoyed it.

I'm not liking the camo trend in highschool/college basketball uniforms btw!

I am sure the action is going to build as the tv spots go on, I'm hoping that the action isn't actually limited and is the reason they are saving it.

I don't think so.

We have action on Krypton, saving the bus, the tornado, metropolis battle, and smallville battle which we know of. I am sure there is a lot more, as well.

No IM3, STID, FF6, After Earth, ... spots in this event?

Missed opportunity?

That isn't strictly true. If people are turned off the knowledge isn't a good thing.

You're not wrong, it's a valid and good point. I just don't think that would turn anybody off. It's "safe"

That being said, it didn't trend on Twitter at all, while Hangover III and Lone Ranger did.

I think the general public would have liked to see more action to get them more pumped during a action packed final. I'm at a bar and grille and there wasn't that much buzz after the spot.

Something big and action packed would have been nice during a great NCAA Final game IMO. No biggie though.

I agree. More action would have made sense.

Hell yeah.

Even though it's just the trailer recut, I am happy we have something new and official finally!!! :D

Good start awareness wise.

Maybe "piss poor" was a little harsh. I'm mostly annoyed that is what was put out there especially after getting a text from a friend who said it looked terrible and that spot being his first impression of the film.

But I still think its not all that strong. The bites, while great bites, play a little long and feel a little clunky for a :30. They needed to be a little more succinct.
Granted, I'm sure the post house had a mandate to cut down the trailer and to avoid new things, and they did the best they could, I just think WB should've splurged for a :60.

Oh it sure wasn't a clean cut so to speak, but I think they needed to get one out there to build a foundation of awareness, and they did that. Would I have cut it like that or showed what they showed, nope, but it was the first brick.

At the very least, I'm definitely glad it's out there and it's all starting!

I think SR was good in that it closed out the old Superman movies better than Nuclear Man at least. With that said, I have always been vocal about wanting a new origin film so I'm pretty happy about MOS focusing in that area.

Wouldn't worry too much about twitter. Youtube views are more impressive.

Hangover 3 spot was nothing special and neither was the Lone Ranger spot.

And the oil rig thing.

It's amusing how little we know about this movie.

It's too bad this tv spot had nothing new to offer except a quick shot of Costner.

And the shot of him saying "where do I come from?" is different

Yep. I am for the sanity of the forum at least.

Sure, but Twitter expresses instant awareness based off all the spots that played, and as far as I could tell, Superman didn't trend.

Team camo wins. I hate their shorts but Pitino is a legend.

I'm sorry. But are some people really complaining ?
I agree it's not that amazing of a Tv spot, but it gets the job done, and it gets the movie's name out to the masses.
It's a positive sign that marketing is going to pick up pretty soon.

Fans aren't thinking of what it would be like as a general fan. That's the main problem.

The lack of trending isn't great, but honestly not sure it matters right now. Mainly because I have a feeling that if you do the twitter thing, chances are great you have seen the trailers, and thus this footage probably doesn't excite you.

I agree that this wouldn't turn people off, but what I fear is they are not making it look "cool". The effect being perceived as "cool" for Batman, Bond and the Avengers the last year did wonders.

Did ANY of the spots trend?
