So in the trailer all the speaking parts of Zod look to be him on Krypton (no goatee) and him and his men, and Faora, look to be imprisoned, and he is swearing that someday he will find Kal-el? Interesting.

Here is my theory on Zod.

Perhaps he wants the people to hand over Kal-El. He wants to execute him, but the Kryptonian officials judge that he can be exiled instead. Zod loses, does something bad, and gets sentenced to the Zone.

Yep, that is the theory. She is tracking down Clark, not Superman. Superman doesn't exist at that point.

This was a really good trailer but it didn't hit me as hard as the first one did. The first one was just so damn emotional with young Clark and the buildup to the takeoff. That was probably the greatest moment I've ever seen in a trailer. But this was damn good.

Some notes.

- I'm a little worried about some of the CGI but I don't think that's gonna matter during a 3D screening.

- Shannon looks and sounds menacing.

- I hope the film doesn't start with the Kryptonian stuff because I want to take the spiritual journey with Clark but that doesn't look like it's the case. I'm pretty sure there will be a "prologue" of sorts.

- Zimmer's score isn't as iconic as some might have wished for but I think it perfectly encapsulates this version of the character. The music is a backdrop rather than a show stealer. The old John Williams score was strong and triumphant. You could almost picture Superman with his chest out. Zimmer's score screams hope. You can never give up hope. You gotta keep marching. I love the way it builds and uplifts... because that's the power of hope.

- I'm glad they only gave us a small peak of the action because I truly believe they have tons in store. I can almost imagine the theater all collectively getting wet in the pants at the same time.

- Great trailer, but I don't think it's gonna promise any record breaking openers. But from the looks of everything this thing is gonna have LEGS.

I won't say that I didn't like it but the score didn't grab me as much as the rest of the trailer at first viewing. Or maybe I was overwhelmed with the awesomeness.

The coloring doesn't bother me except for the interrogation scene, which looks out-and-out gray. I hope Snyder corrects that before the film comes out.

This may sound stupid but Zimmer isn't really known for have an iconic theme. Especially in the Batman films it doesn't rely on just one piece of music all the time. A motif sure but not a specific track, you could say it is the Molossus track but there are other tracks throughout the three films that are used to just as good an effect. All the music is great and plays well off each other rather than one standout theme and I'm sure it will be the same for MoS.
