star trek reboot was only 2 hours and 7 minutes
Absolutely. The last 10 pages has alot of discontent for the runtime though, so that's something.Robocop was 90 minutes and is an excellent film with near perfect pacing, and practically no fat. And some films can support 2 and a half hours but maybe MOS isn't one of those films?
Not that I was ever disappointed but your reminders here have helped greed subside.
Well I think the film order wld go like this
Starts with Kryptonian Prologue(Kal-el is sent to earth but Krypton does not explode yet)
Movie then jumps 25 yrs later where it properly starts.
The 1st half will consist of
1.Bearded Clark wandering the country with Lois on on his tails.Flashbacks fill in the blanks about his smallville years
2.War on Krypton- which will be happening around the same-time as Clarks journey.
The 1st half of the movie will conclude with Kryptons destruction due to the war and Zods escape to earth,.It will also conclude with Clark finding the Fotress.
2nd half of the movie covers Zods invasion.Clark is Superman throughout this half.
Yeah, I'm just as greedy as any other fan and that's okay because we have been waiting a long time for this, we want as much content as we can get. Totally understandable. However, any criticism that MoS' pacing or plotting will suffer with that runtime is ridiculous. Let's all just admit that we are greedy fans and stop it with the bullcrap arguments that a 130 minute runtime in and of itself will objectively harm the film.
*If the script is overly ambitious for such a length, then perhaps we will have a problem, but we need to see the movie to know.
I'm just speculating but maybe there's a break in the action after the Black Zone escape. Maybe Clark goes to Metropolis and forms a secret identity now that he's a wanted man. After all, there were those set photos in Chicago from behind the Hyatt hotel and it looked like Clark was in his Daily Planet attire with papers blown around.
Pretty sure that it is Zod. I think I can see a goatee here:

This is definitely true. I actually think there's something we're missing regarding the flow of this film. We assume that from the fortress Clark steps out and flies straight to Smallville to save his adoptive mother. But then why would be be taking his time walking in Alaska before his big takeoff. It could be he gets started working in Metropolis after this.I'm just speculating but maybe there's a break in the action after the Black Zone escape. Everyone seems convinced that the end of the film will be Clark putting on his glasses in the elevator. Good to keep our minds open I guess.
Hmm. It gets confusing though thinking about it. Does Lois find him in Alaska and speak to him or is the interrogation scene the first time they talk?
If that's the case. And Superman takes on the Clark Kent disguised persona in Metropolis it would seem he interacts with her at the Daily Planet first. Before the battle of Smallville and before he turns himself into the military.
I'm thinking she must see him find interact with him before he becomes Superman and when he's still trying to find himself. Encourages him to step out of the shadows and offers him a job at the Daily Planet. And her talking to him in the interrogation room is more her commenting on his 'new look' which she hasn't seen before. 'What's the 'S' stand for?'
Yeah definitely. I think if Snyder's directed it right everyone will be frazzled by how messed up Smallville got. Looking at those set pics again. Destruction everywhere. I'd like to see that fear and uncertainty portrayed by Colonel Hardy, Lois, Prof. Hamilton, the rest of the military, Smallville citizens, etc.Could be, her seeming skepticism during the interview could also because of the appearance of the other Kryptonians. Although she believed in him before, maybe the appearance of similar beings who use their powers in a destructive manner makes Lois a bit more wary of Supes despite being stil being really attracted to him.
Not to bothered about midnight screenings, yeah the atmosphere is great enough (but not by much, UK audiences aren't usually loud) but it's not like I can't wait a couple of hours for the first showing![]()
