As long as the movie is good, the runtime won't matter too much. It's when they start going below an hour and 50 minutes that you begin to question it a bit. Besides, if they did cut stuff out, I'm sure it will be on the blu-ray for the fans enjoyment.

I felt like BB was a bit long and TDKR was WAY too long. TDK was perfect because of the pacing and really didn't feel long until some of the stuff with Two Face at the end, that's when it hit me that "oh ****, this is almost 3 hours". Other that I never looked at my watch once.

Me either hate getting numb ass in the cinema.

This is giving me weird deja vu. I feel like the problem of butt numbness was discussed when the runtime for one of Nolan's batfilms was released... either TDK or TDKR. :funny:

TDKR was long, but I thought BB was just about right.

Both are short for me. BB could use another 10+ mins but it works really well with what is there.

TDKR is also still a very good movie for me, but it could uses another 30mins at the very least, if not much more.

Ha ha coincidently I find both those films a tad too long :woot:

Stupid complaints are still stupid. :cwink:

Same people probably think Gone with the Wind is too long.

The funny thing about doing a DC shared universe is that unlike Marvel, DC's characters were not created to be together. The idea to set them all in the same universe only came later. Batman and his world was literally the exact opposite of Superman and his world and so on. One way to look at it is that it was something that was forced and contrived to begin with.

However, another way to look at it is that it is was a genius idea. You have characters completely different from one another that have to come together against one big threat. They may be completely different but this is also why they work so well together and why they compliment off one another.

In other words, a DC Cinematic Universe is either going to not work that well and feel very contrived or it has the potential to be something that completely blows even the Marvel Cinematic Universe out of the water. I hope that it is the latter.

I thought time and pacing wasn't a problem for both BB and TDK. I don't think TDKR was way too long either. I think it just tried to do way too much in one movie.

Is it possible to release MOS 2 in 2015? I mean SM2 was amazing and it came out 2 years later than SM.

Uh, what?

I think the Smallville fight is the third to last fight/major action sequence in the film.

1 is stuff on Krypton.

2 is the oil rig.

3 is the Smallville fight/capture.

4 is the Metropolis showdown.

I agree with the order, but I think the fight scenes will be spaced out. Superman emerges from the fortress and takes flight is obviously the first time we see him in costume. The Smallville fight will probably lead to Superman giving himself up voluntarily to the Army and then going on to Zod's ship which finally leads to the final showdown.

All this will definitely take the bulk of the final hour of the movie.

It is true. Since Stan Lee and co. started the modern Marvel universe in the 1960's with the first characters being the FF, his idea was for all these characters to exist in the same universe. That was there since day 1 as opposed to DC. If you go back to the very first Batman and Superman comics, they were not in the same universe. Both Superman and Batman operated in New York City and the way the city was represented in both comics (Action and Detective) were completely opposite.

TDKR was long, but I thought BB was just about right.

Begins was perfect length, I thought the Dark Knight was about twenty mins too long and Rises lagged at points

It is possible, especially if the movie is a hit, money has a way of making the production of films go faster.

They probably already have a rough story of where they would take a sequel, if not a script already. It seems like nowadays its standard practice to already commission a script for a sequel. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain by doing that.

And in that "same universe" came characters from other places, like Cap.

I'm not saying that a DC universe can't work. It can just as well as a Marvel universe. I'm just pointing out that due to that, this has the potential to be either a bad or fantastic idea.

It is still possible though. Thor 2 and ASM 2 are coming out 2 yrs later than their predecessors. (I know IM 2 wasnt so good.)

It is possible. But it is also a stupid risk to take.

Some people...

"Gone with the Wind" and 2001 both lag so much. Should have trimmed them. Same with "Lawrence of Arabia". :o

I just saw 2001. That movie was so boring, and I completely hated it!

I don't want it to happen anytime soon, but the JL is the original and a lot of the appeal is how different they truly are.
