Second day of trying to win tickets on the Norton site. Nothing. But you know what? I planned on buying tickets anyway, so it's not really a lost. :cwink:

Hmm...credits... You know, the people that actually helped MAKE the film that you just watched? Even if you don't stay to read them, they deserve their place in the sun (or dark theater, rather).

Credits are a part of the film's running time. Period. I really don't understand this lack of comprehension.

You know, credits used to appear at the beginning of films...I bet that would be torture for some of you...

Same here. I'll keep trying everyday though since I plan on seeing it more than once.

The movie could be the next Catwoman and Crowe would tweet about how awesome it is. That's just the truth.

But there are “diplomatic” ways to comment on a film that allow “plausible deniability.”

“Hey, Russell. How’s MOS?”

“I had a blast making it. Zack is a sweetheart!” :word:

One the other hand, mentioning that the film will be a career-changer for Cavill is more specific - and at least implies a high level of confidence.

Yeah I figure what do I have to lose? It's worth doing once a day just for the fun of it. Gives me something MOS related to do like a countdown till the movie opens. :woot:

IF there is an after credit scene, I'd like to see one of two scenarios:

1. Dr. Hamilton ( or a no-nonsense henchwoman type ) walks into an office, carrying a briefcase. A figure stands by the window, looking out over Metropolis, his back towards us. Dr. Hamilton or Mercy puts the briefcase on the desk and opens it, revealing an ominous green glow. He/She says, "Mr. Luthor, we've found it." Cut to the man as he smiles a devilish smile.

2. The camera pans in towards a piece of Kryptonian tech. could be Kal-El's ship, a part of Black Zero, or one of Zod's robot army soldiers ( if they are still in the movie ). The piece of tech activates and forms the Brainiac symbol across it's interface.

I don't think Dr. Hamilton is a villainous character in this. When he first appeared in the comics, he despised Lex for stealing his work and eventually became an ally of Superman. True, he did eventually become a supervillain but I don't think they're going to start him off like that right off the bat.

Aww, it's cute how some people on here believe everything an actor says about a movie he has a huge stake in.

I don't think Mr. Crowe is b.s'er in general but I don't think that he is above b.sing about a Summer blockbuster.

Russell Crowe talking up MOS reminds me of the story about Jack Nicholson at the 1989 Academy Awards talking up Batman and word spreading fast that night about him saying how big of a hit it was going to be that really caused an inside buzz within the hollywood crowd.

Smart move by Nicholson considering he was getting a % cut of the box office takings IIRC

well to be honest most of the people who have played Superman have had their lives changed.
George Reeves died
Lee Quigley, who played baby Kal-El in the 1978 movie, died at age 14.
Christopher Reeve....we all know what happened there
Dean Cain...despite being a household name during his time as Superman has yet to find a decent job.
Brandon Routh....Superman Returns

Aw, shucks. Thanks. :cwink:

Actually, I’m a firm skeptic (note my avatar) - so much so that if the skepticism is simply rote or automatic, I’m inclined to be skeptical about it. :awesome:

Well I guess we'll find out in less than a month.

I'm pretty sure the reason people are spending so much time here is that most of us have already made up our mind this is going to be a good film though. Just based on the footage we've seen alone. The fact that this film contains all the scenes that we've already seen in the tv spots and trailers already means that it'll be good, just because it has those scenes. Even if the parts connecting those scenes are no good. We're going to get Superman double punching Zod. We're going to see a cute interrogation of Superman by Lois. We're going to see Superman the best he's ever looked flying. That's enough for me. But I'm pretty sure we all expect great things from this film.

I'm sure you all have seen this:

Interviewer: "So, what do you have to say about your new movie coming out?"

Actor: "It ******* sucks!! I had the WORST time of my life making it. Everyone was an utter a** on set, especially the director........a**hole!! The story sucks, the special effects suck, and the score sounds like sh***y elevator music. I would tell everyone NOT to see the movie. I repeat......DO NOT WASTE YOUR ******* MONEY ON THAT MOVIE!!!"

Richard Dreyfuss about Jaws????

Everyone knows that anyone involved in a film is not going to berate it in an interview.

Seriously. Russell Crowe has tweeted numerous times since seeing the film last week about the quality of the film. SHH Response: 'HAHAHA What a rube. His opinion is meaningless.'

Crowe's tweet might not say anything about if the movie will be good or not to anyone who is not him, but it doesn't mean one can't get excited by or enjoy his words. We are all biased one way or another anyway.

People always react to this stuff in extremes. Its not meaningless. You can detect sometimes whether an actor's enthusiasm for a film is real or forced. All their opinions about it should be taken with a grain of salt, yes. They aren't going to say negative stuff about it. But that doesn't mean it is totally meaningless, it just means it only goes so far.

well, I just know that MOS has a pretty high caliber/quality cast.

and I'd like to hope that such high caliber cast were attracted to the project because it had some real substance behind it.

and from everything that I've seen, so far, it looks like MOS will NOT be just another mindless, summer blockbuster with loud noises and pretty explosions.

it feels like, to borrow Jor-El's line, that it is aspiring to something greater.

What are you even overreacting to? I can't figure it out.

I mean, I see a post mentioning credits, but I can't make sense of this as a response to that.

Everyone involved with the film could sing it's praises to high hell and it could still be bad as green lantern. So yeah...It really doesn't mean anything, regardless of how you feel about said actor.

Holy crap I won tickets from that Norton page! Woot! :woot::woot:
