I can't believe how many people here don't want a JL film. Especially after seeing how great it was to see the heroes together in the avengers and then see the awesome superman in action of this film. Justice league would be a dream come true for me

Marvel actually had a plan, WB only wants it because of the Avengers' BO.

Sucker Punch proved that Snyder has narrative problems. It is not easy to write a crowd pleaser, specifically one that has multiple leads. Such films are all about pacing and structure, and Sucker Punch proved that Snyder, like Goyer, has serious problems with that.

That debate is a slippery slope, I would rather avoid. I'm just saying, like the matrix sequel, part of the point was to play with the traditional narrative structure.

That being said, I'm glad this MoS film has been made, it will finally shed some perspective on the Goyer and Snyder situation once and for all.

Ridley Scott is seriously riding on the success of his past filmography hard these days. Dude can't produce a solid hit these days to save his life/carrer yet the many fans of his older hits still champion him like no other.

That being said, if he could only be given a solid script.
(Scott's direction on inception would have melted my soul, I know it).

I'm not a GL mega fan exactly so I don't take the mediocre film personally but I still can't believe WB wanted to turn a freakin intergalactic cop into frigggin Iron Man. GL is a great character for a mostly serious space epic and they give us Iron Man with bad CGI, an even worse script and RR whom I like but is not RDJ. So misguided. You would think they learned their lesson after Catwoman but no. Honestly I'm still afraid of Warners handling of these characters.

Really.Gladiator and Alien are the resons why I think hed be good for WW.

Patty jenkins is my second choice though

Everyone of them have the potential to be incredibly stunning pieces of work

Neither of which are anything like Wonder Woman. A "strong" female lead, if that is what you want to call Ripley in Alien (not Aliens. In Aliens that is exactly what she is) doesn't really play into it. Diana is a completely different type of character. Gladiator isn't exactly superhuman warfare.

Yeah, if we had all the other characters established on a cinematic universe. But we don't, we don't even have Batman anymore. Hell, we don't even have Superman, the movie hasn't come out yet.

Wait, was GL the beginning of a shared universe or was it supposed to be a stand-alone trilogy?

We know what kind of writer Goyer is and what kina of a director Snyder is. Goyr has a long, long list of credits.

I saw no hints of a shared universe, just a silly movie unsuccessfully trying to copy another film.

It really was beyond ******ed.They obviously where trying to duplicate Ironman sucess forgetting one vital thing-GL is not Ironman.

As for Warners handling this characters I wld have thm handed over to syncopy to write and produce.

^ Well, I think Snyder dodged a bullet by not directing the 300-spinoff. His work matters more on a character that needed to be reinvented in cinema, rather than a story based on an unpublished comic book.

Except, you have no idea this is the case
Except the proof is there. Snyder explicitly stated in early 2012 that Man of Steel would be it's own thing completely separate to JL. In every interview post-Avengers he is now saying the complete opposite. I don't blame Snyder, I kind of get the impression that he'd rather keep developing Superman, but there is studio pressure happening.

^ Yeah. I feel like the 3D is studio pressured as well. He never did that except for his CG cartoon.

He also has a list of hits. The issue lies in judging someone's talent by their credits(especially in hollywood). MoS is going to be a manifestation of that error imo.

One look at the tickes sold on TDK and the tickets sold on IM3
...3d may have been a good call here.

These aren't real "plans". Plans are 7 year/5 film lead up to the Avengers.

^ Guyssssss....It's too soon to worry. At this rate, I'm expecting an okay film--OKAY! I'm lying, I'm expecting a masterpiece that will redefine what an origin story should be and be the best superhero film to date!!

Exactly! I don't understand how people can want DC to essentially copy Marvel. Isn't DC supposed to be the innovators? They gave us the first superhero the The first Superhero movie. Now people want them to copy Avengers and not even do it well. How about DC get their act together first, the only thing they had going for them in the last Decade was Batman; how about they try to make a good film not staring Batman first.

Interesting that Zod is charging up the building like a gorilla. So that shot of Zod being knocked upwards is the result of the two clashing alongside the building? But how is that possible given Zod's trajectory here? Also what's happening to Superman I see a blur of red like he's falling after they collide.

Superman could clock Zod right under the chin possibly sending him flying upwards and Superman just keeps going the same direction

:funny:

Goyer has written what he has written. Even his best scripts have been elevated by the director. Dark City, Batman Begins, and Blade 2. He wrote and directed Blade Trinity and The Unborn. There is no way around that.

I can't believe how many people here don't want a JL film.

A couple of pages back, some folks were offering interesting (and insightful) comments on the sci-fi nature of MOS, how it might prove to be one of the film’s assets. Now, a WW movie (say) could very well find its strength by embracing classic magic/mythology. So then it becomes a question of how to make the characters compatible without compromising either. Ditto for the remaining JL members. The undertaking may not be impossible. But I think people are (justifiably) concerned that the "group context" would impose concessions on the individual heroes.

Well, since MOS looks to be great, the next step is Wonder Woman. Then we can talk about setting up JLA. Marvel has Feige, WB has ____?
