"Exclusive movie footage" just means to me that we'll get the same stuff we've been seeing.

"They are showing too much footage" will never come out of my mouth. I have been waiting 9/10 freakin years for a Superman movie with a huge physical confrontation. The fact that I am even seeing that in the trailers is a thrill to me. It could never be enough after the suffering I endured last time. I got none of what I wanted in 2006, none of it. These trailers sustain me.

****in' right!

Henry totally sounded like Tim Daly to me in T.V spot 10. Loving his approach for Superman. It's exactly what I had dreamed about.

2006 was painful, I know. With the initial hype of seeing the film a few times, I kept trying to convince myself that Returns was an amazing movie despite what everyone around me was saying but I soon realised it really wasn't. One or two of my friends still feel burned after that movie and are not sure if MOS will deliver.

But this time it's different. It's the same hype I felt around the Nolan Batman movies, intense and feverish excitement with every new bit of footage that came out. I think we're in for something really special with this one. I can feel it! :supes:

Yes, his Superman voice is thankfully on point!!

That suit is awesome and I think its the best live action suit.

I agree, it's simply awesome. The only issue I have is when they tinker with the coloring for some of these photoshoots ... it makes it look hideous with the washed out greyish look.

THAT picture of it looks great ... and the way it looks in most of the tv spots looks excellent.

If the movie and Henry's performance is as good as it looks, I just might have reevaluate Reeve's performances. Henry comes across as much more subtle. However, I will say that Reeve elevated his movies. If Henry was given the same scripts as the old movies, I'm not sure he would have worked as well.

Can there be two perfect Supermen? Because I might have to choose that route. :)

I just watched that spot and he really does sound like Daly. Its so on point it gives you chills. So powerful while being calm and confident at the same time.

I love Tim Daily's Superman voiceover(I really liked Newbern's as well to be honest) so I think that's a great compliment. Cavill really does sound good so far.

^ But Goyer insists that ALL the trailers and TV spots are "the tip of the iceberg" :)

When Goyer said that I think he was referring to all the trailers released up until that point (which was everything before trailer 3). Since then we've seen a considerable amount of footage.

How about at the end of Terminator 2? That one hit me so hard :csad:

I recently watched it again, that final scene still hits me hard, too. The music that kicks is perfect.

It isn't insecure, but it also isn't egotistical. It's the perfect voice for the modern Superman, calm, thoughtful, but also unashamed of who he is.

it's kind of hard to compare.

the Reeve films were from a completely different "time" and had a totally different tone than what MOS is trying to achieve.

it's like comparing Adam West's Batman to Bale's Batman. they are totally different Batmen.

I love that Henry voiceover in the tv spot.I cant believe there are people saying that say Goyer writes terrible dialogue-are you hearing the lines from this movie.

If the same amount of care and genius is brought to Dc charcter movies they would be insane successes.

Good point :)

"The studio just showed me the completed cut. I literally asked to watch it twice in a row. I’m so excited. I just want to show it to the world.” - Henry Cavill

Of course! Christopher was the quintessential Silver Age Superman. Henry can be the definitive Modern Age Superman.
