^ Multiple spoilers, including a dude who has seen the film, referencing unknown plot points. Given that Snyder's such a purist, and Goyer's a comics fan, is it possible that Nolan was the guy who suggested this action?

I'm sure after the dvd/bluray comes out, someone will re-create the CC trailer.

The sooner PowerCosmic and DaJanksta see this film... the better.

I feel like Nolan pays such fealty to logic, that they didn't have the
Phantom Zone
in this version, leaving little options besides
Zod killing himself accidently or intentionally, if they didn't want Superman's blood on his hand.

Or it could just be a cheap attempt to darken him up.

Nolan didn't write the script. Blame Goyer.

^ I hope when the DVD is out, they reshoot the ending and release the more brutal one as an "alternate version." :/

Probably a hard request but you wouldn't have a link to the page where Barry does this in the comics? Or even the one panel. I've never read that storyline before. Jesus. The 80s was tough on Barry.

Yeah, really tough, lol. And Kid Flash was called to testify against him in court. :argh: Hal had Barry's back though. :word: Lol...and I do somewhere, I will try and find it for you...I have so many images, lol. If not the original then a flashback for sure.

Superman killed zod in the comics.Leading to him developing a 'no kill'code.Thats what Goyer probbaly is going for.
Supermans no kill policy will probably tested by Lex again

I've heard the 'spoiler' several places today ... I have no issues, because I'm not set in this idea of what Superman has to be. Some people probably are, and they may have issues.

If the movie is good, I don't care ... and neither will the general audience.

I'm thinking of those Youtube reaction videos now with like the mom and the 5-year old. And now combining that with the word of 'next-level brutal violence' and Superman [BLACKOUT]snapping Zod's neck[/BLACKOUT]. Yeah that'll be great for kids.

I'm going to read through the review thread now. I'm hoping this poster is yanking all our chains (in which case he can go straight to..).

I also read how Superman and CO take out Black Zero and I wish I wouldn't have. Lol :/

(not that it's "bad")

But ask yourselves, in a world where there is no Phantom Zone projector for Superman to use, and you have unrepentent villains bent on destroying everyone, what else could you possibly do? They say...

Superman is (obviously and as he should be) very conflicted about doing what he did and shows anger and being upset after doing so

Cheers. Thanks is there a specific trade I can track down. Or is it not worth reading it's so kinda upsetting?

Lack of Daily Planet Clark and Lois I think. We know it but many people going into it didn't. That and...

...Superman kills (ala what Barry Allen did in the 80s comics from the sounds of it....fine by me)

Seriously regarding the [BLACKOUT]killing[/BLACKOUT] this is literally me right now

Okay.... Regarding that spoiler (And this is a major spoiler if it's true,
you guys know that in the comics in the late 80's Superman executed Zod using Kryptonite, right? He regretted it later but it happened. I will be upset if it happens in this movie, but depending on the context it might not be a dealbreaker for me.

lol, first time I've seen goyer get credit for one of these scripts in a while.

I think the success or failure of the movie should be on Goyer and Snyder. And the spoiler doesn't bother me at all.
Reminds me of how diehard Iron Man fans were bothered by the IM3 twist.

He isnt.People who have gone to the screening confirmed it but they are all apparently cool with it because it was executed well in the movie.Howver the poster that revealed the twist hates it

^ Still a few days. Scott Pilgrim's ending was altered from audience test reactions.
Not that it will happen :/

Not sure if there is a trade yet, sadly, as far as I know it's only available in one of the later Showcase Flash volumes, but they are all black and white. :cmad: I wish they'd release it in color (hell, all the stories for that matter). It is worth checking out just if you're a Flash fan simply for the history aspects and how crazy the 80s was, lol. The thing that bothers me the most about "old" stories is how different the writing is then, if anything, more so than anything that goes on in it story-wise. Still entertaining though, so yeah, check it out if you find it. :)

Zionite, you closed the tags with [/DPOILER] instead of bracket slash SPOILER bracket. Thankfully there isn't any new information ;)

It doesn't bother me if Superman does some dirty work, if its for the right reasons. And lets not forget Batman did kill some no name henchmen in the climax of Dark Knight Rises lol.

And I don't see
Supes killing Zod
as anything like Mandarin in Iron Man 3. Not even close. There's no comparison, I see what happens in MOS as a minor character development or whatever, not a major twist.
Superman did kill Zod in the comics and even Superman 2 we don't really see what happens to Zod and CO, they just sort of disappear down a shaft (???). I'm honestly fine with Supes killing Zod in this.
